Mary stared at the boy and gave him a nod telling him to ask.
The boy grasped the blanket tightly while his head bent down. He then met her gaze and asked her.
"Why are you so kind to me? Everyone until now, either beat me or scolded me. It is my first time that someone is talking to me like this and you also give me a name." His expression changed entirely replaced with a gloomy face. For as long as he can remember, they were only one or two people who had talked to or shown the least bit of kindness to him. as long as he was aware, he was always beaten and thrashed by other kids. He was told that his parents abandoned him and left him in the forest. He didn't even know what kindness felt like.
Maybe it's kindness that woman showing me. Is it?
She simply looked at the boy and was lost in her own thoughts.
"Well, I don't need a reason, do I? Mary smiled warmly.
Seeing her smile, he felt warm and tears flowed out. He stared at her with his tears falling.
She turned towards the window. She heard him crying but didn't turn.
The boy wept and cried for almost a few hours. It was very hard for him. He struggled every day and did not have proper food to eat. Now he showed this much kindness and he felt like crying and crying.
Mary walked to him. "Stay here and become stronger. That is the only way for you to protect yourself." She knew how important strength was. In this universe, the strong prey on the weak. It was just how the way it is. If one was stronger, he wouldn't abide by rules or any restrictions.
Mary left the room. He stared at her until she left the room with teardrops marks on his face. She was also feeling about what had been done to him by her husband. By giving strength, she thought that it was the least she can do. For some reason, she had a feeling that the kid was special. If not, how could he have killed the soul of Blodig just like that? There must be a secret in his body.
Then he stopped crying wiping his tears on his palms. He clenched his little fists. The comfort of warmth from her words and receiving kinds from one which he experienced just now. During all these where he stayed on the streets most of the time, he observed many people. If they pitied him, some would give him money, while others who were frustrated with life would vent on him. The endless cycle of suffering continued for many days he wished for a day to end even if he has to pay an unimaginable price. His body and mind became numb to the pain.
But that day, this boy listened to her every word and engraved it into his heart. This woman saved him and gave him a name. That he would definitely become stronger that no one would be able to harm him in any way.
"Kaiser." That boy muttered to himself.
***
After taking a few days' rest. Mary sent him to a person.
To the west side of the palace, they were a garrison. In that, a square field of certain yards. In the middle of the field, a man was sitting on a chair with his legs stretched onto the table in front. A cloth was placed on his face underneath his eyes closed, it seemed like he was sleeping.
Kaiser was following a soldier. That soldier was told to bring the boy to an instructor. That man was to teach the boy according to the Empress' order.
"Master Jian. This is the boy." the soldier said in a very respectful way while bowing. The soldier didn't even raise his head.
Mary has passed the order for the man in front of the boy and the soldier. He was the supreme master swordsman of the empire. In terms of strength and with the sword, no one could stand against him. This was a fact only the empress knew.
The man who was sleeping woke up. He removed the clothing and tilted his towards the boy. He waved his hand, then the soldier left.
He slowly stood up. He was like a giant to Kaiser because his height was six feet with well-developed muscles. He had white long hair, tied to the back of his head. He wore a coat and sheathed sword was to his left. His gaze turned to the boy.
Kaiser suddenly felt like it was hard to breathe. The pressure increased as being gazed at by a fierce beast. But he stood his ground while trying to resist the incoming pressure. On one side this man seemed like a large entity but another side he seemed like a normal man.
The sweat beads formed on his forehead and dripped down. It was a most terrifying experience.
Jian withdrew his pressure and said calmly, "A Human and that too a kid."
"How did you end up here?" Jian asked the boy with an indifferent expression.
After the boy woke up, he met a lot a saw lot of people. He was surprised to see them and noticed their distinguishing features. All though they looked like humans they weren't. Some of them had pointy ears and while others had long ears. Some of them had very different facial features.
He learned about the empire and its races living in them. Apparently, humans were rare on this star. It was also surprising for them to see Kaiser.
" I don't know." the kid replied. Only he and Mary knew about this truth. Mary warned him, not to tell anybody about the matter regarding the cave. So he didn't say that.
"She said that I have to train you but…" He paused and looked at him with a complex gaze.
"You are so thin and have a frail body." He said after checking the boy.
Kaiser watched the man with an expressionless face.
Jian sized up Kaiser from head to toe once again and he noticed the boy's expressionless face. He sighed.
