Chapter 3_ Training ( 2 )

"The question is who not what," Joseph said.

"A Long time ago, Lucifer and his demons were dominating the earth. Human were their tools, everyone fought for survival. The witches were able to protect themselves with magic but the humans were left to fight for themselves.

Finally, the angels came to join the fight against Lucifer.

After the war, the angels decided to return to heaven. Before they left they give the Lockwoods some of their blessings even the savants were not left out. And the angels commanded them to use those gifts to protect humanity against Lucifer and his demons.

They were all happy with their new powers. The Lockwoods later found out that their only daughter was pregnant with one of the angel's child. They were overjoyful that a divine being was amongst them.

When the child was born, he has immense powers unlike what they had. Those groups of people with the gifts were known as the guardians and protectors of the earth. The Lockwoods are the leaders as they were the direct descendants of the angels and the strongest. Till today they still lead the rest of the guardians to fight against demons. And you, my dear, are a Lockwood which makes you a descendant of the angel". Joseph ended the story.

"Are you guys trying to play a prank on me?" Grace asked them.

"This is not a joking matter," Joseph said to her.

"Then tell me what this is about. Witches, demons, and angels? Those are stories to scare little children " Grace told him.

"What about your powers? If you say I made all this up" Joseph told her.

"You guys are trying to get into my head and it won't work," Grace said walking away.

"Grace. Come back here" Joseph shouted at her but she kept walking.

Grace suddenly stopped walking.

"What... what's happening?" Grace cried out.

"Are you ready to listen now? If not you are staying there until you do" Joseph said to her.

Grace tried to free herself but she was stuck she couldn't move.

"Let me go" Grace shouted.

"I said let me go this instant" Grace commanded.

"Okay, l heard you but you have to do it yourself. You see, as a Lockwood a mere guardian can't have a strong hold on you. This is happening only because you haven't harnessed your powers. Instead of you glaring at me I think you should use that energy to set yourself free" Joseph said to her.

" This is Stave he will be your trainer. if you need anything let him know" Joseph added.

"She's in your hands," Joseph said to Stave before walking away.

Grace tried to force herself out but it didn't work. She tried for a few more minutes and she got tired.

"Are you just going to stand there?" Grace asked Stave.

"You didn't ask for my help Miss Lockwood," Stave said.

"Will you stop being polite and help me out of here?" Grace got angry with him.

"Ok, ma. All you need to do is clear your mind".

"Clear my mind? I thought I told you to free me?" Grace asked him.

"Yes miss, and that's what I'm trying to do "Stave replied to her.

"How?"

"By clearing your mind first," Stave said to her.

"How?"

"You need to calm down, and relax yourself".

Grace did what he said and calmed down.

"Ok, that's good. Now close your eyes and remove any other thought out of your mind" Stave said walking around her.

Grace did exactly what he said.

" Now focus on your surroundings, feel the wind, the earth, and every single element. Let them flow through you feel it as it flows through your veins let it become part of you, ".stave said.

"What? What is happening? I feel weird" Grace got scared of the strange feeling that was coming over her.

"Don't fight it, let it wash over you. Feel it at your fingertip " Stave said.

A strong wind started blowing around them. Stave looked around and was surprised at how strong she was.

"You're doing great, now command it to your will".

With a scream, Grace broke free sending Stave five fit away.

"I.. I. did it," Grace said breathing heavily.

When she didn't hear any response she turned around and saw Steve getting up from the ground.

"What happened?" Grace asked him.

"That's the evidence of how strong you are" Stave said to her dusting off the dirt.

"That was amazing can we do that again?" Grace asked him excitedly.

"I think that's enough for today ".

"What? But we haven't done anything " Grace was surprised.

"Okay, if that is what you want. You can start with this "Stave said making a leave to float in the air.

"Wow, how did you do that?" Grace was amazed.

"You need to figure it out yourself, "Stave said to her before walking away.

Back in the house.

When Joseph and Rachel saw Stave walk in they stopped what they were discussing.

"How is it," Rachel asked eagerly.

"She got free on her first trial"

"How that's wonderful" Rachel was excited.

"Where is she?" Joseph asked Stave.

"Oh, she's doing levitation. I think she's thrilled to learn" Stave said.

Grace had tried several times but she failed.

"Okay let me try again. Clear your mind" Grace said to herself trying to follow how Stave instructed her.

"Grace you can do it" she encouraged herself.

She placed the leave on her hand and tried to clear her mind.

She allowed the energy to flow through her. She heard the sound of the wind and everything came to a halt it was only the sound of her heartbeat that was being heard.

And she commanded the leave to levitate.

When she opened her eyes, she saw that the leaf was up in the air.

".... I did it," she said excitedly. She wanted to jump up but she fell instead really hard.

"Wha .. what just happened "she was confused.

"My dear, you just levitate, " Rachel said from the side.
