After he inflicted violence to those men who were thoroughly harassing that mysterious woman. He already reckoned as much that it would cause a few fuss around the people who had heard the fight. He did not kill these men. Just right after they wake up, they open their eyes to the hazy world. Obviously not in a very good state, there's a huge possibility that they will remember what happened to them. Every bit of memory will be told to the people around them. However, there's no validity that anyone might have lent an ear.
"Hey! What's going on in there?" Someone shouted, fast approaching the scene.
Luther was alarmed, he looked at the woman who was innocently looking at him. What will he do with her? If he leaves her here, creeps might still attack her, seeing how clueless she is, there's no way she realized that she was being harassed, right?
But, if he also brought her together with him, there is just no way that he would not pierce his fangs to her neck. Even her scent alone drives him crazy and his head convulating with the nebulous thoughts. He was hesitating.
He whammed his fist to the wall before carrying the woman as he used his immense speed. The guy arrived, with furrowed eyebrows as he saw a bunch of men lying on the ground with bruises and injuries on their body. He scratched his head and shook his head.
"There's never a day that my life is peaceful. Always with these intermission numbers of blokes beating up each other's arses. Good for you, guess now that I have to call the police, I have a reason to screw out of this place." He grabbed the phone inside his pocket and dialed the police.
As for Luther, the woman, and the plastic bags along with the snack and other foods he bought from the convenience store. They all went inside one of the apartments lying under his. He could have brought her to a certain place but for now, this was the safest that he could possibly think.
He was breathless to some extent. After letting her go, he also dropped the goods down.
"Thank you for your kindness, if there's anything I could do to repay you, please tell me." She exclaimed, voice so delicate as if it could break, and it was sweet to top that. However, he could tell how dominant it also sounds. There was something about her that just made him lose all the control that was left in his system.
"Huh, so you were aware that they were harassing you? If so, then why are you wearing such clothes? Even went to the dark alleys only wearing that? You must be insa-" He tried scolding her, but his urges got the best of him already.
His fangs itch, his eyes glow with the tint of blood, as the veins in his neck to his hands bulge through his skin, and he felt the nails on his finger strengthened and sharpened. He was losing all the basic regulations with his own body. He was a beast.
He was becoming a beast.
He was about to get out of that room when she grabbed his wrist and made him turn to face her.
"You can not go like that, or you will hurt more strangers than you intended. It is best for you to stay here. After all, I'm the reason you're like this, right?" She cupped his face, removed the hood that was covering his head and revealed his face.
He was caught off guard, but what surprised him more is when she massaged her neck, tapped it to signify that it was alright to bite her. He widened his eyes and avoided her eyes again. This time, she held his chin to face her again.
"This is what you want right? It's fine, you can do it. I'll be alright, I won't die. A sound bite won't hurt me." She gave him the words of affirmation.
He wanted to reject it so much, reject the urge, go out and escape this threat before him, and let this woman go out of his sight.
But with her soft touch, as if wanting to let his guard down, it was soothing yet dangerous. Still, she managed to lure him in. His fangs crashed into her glowing skin, as he sipped his blood, the taste was none like other. It felt as if he was having the most luxurious feast, something felt so valuable as he swallowed her blood, he wanted to badly faint.
And then on, cursing himself was the first that came out of his mouth.
"I– I badly wanted to stick with my promises to never bite people, but what have you done to me? And how much do you know about our identity?" He questioned her, underneath his breathy noises, while wiping the edge of his lips with that sweet blood.
She walked towards the bed and laid her body down. "Perhaps, did you think that your kind was all a matter of secrecy? Young man that's ever so young, your people have always been bare within the public. These citizens only refused to believe that such a kind was ever to exist. However, no matter how much you decide to hide it, your desire is noticeable." Exclaiming it as if she was waiting for that very moment.
"Then, will you reveal it to everyone else? How much of a ferocious and ugly beast we are?"
"Ugly beast?" She gasped, worried. "Dear, I have never thought of anything like that. I was worried that if ever you would go out, you would only do things that will probably let you hate yourself. You are merely denizens following a different tradition. A kind that has been set for one prophecy that is to seek blood." She tapped the side of the bed.
He went towards her, still affected by the scent. "Is that so? Is murdering humankind part of that prophecy?"
"Most likely no, sometimes selfishness goes above them and then they act irrational. However, you are one patient fellow. But, in this very moment, I would love it if you won't smother these urges. Instead, embrace them. All will be well."
Within that very night, he was faced with a whole new experience. Something that he might or might not regret in the future. He touched a human, and to top that, she knows exactly who they are and what they're doing behind the shadows.
It was questionable but what makes him questions even more is to who she was. They keep on crossing paths, well only twice, but the fact the second time made them had their own specific conversation and she found out that quick?
Something's up and he shall ask him when he gets over this urge.
The moment he woke up after that long and tiring night, he felt how his body lit up. Before, he used to feel so ruggish upon blinking his eyes open, but now felt lively and joyful. Like he wa back to his normal state.
He tapped the side of the bed, searching where could she be. However, he only felt the soft mattress. Not a trace of her body was there, because of this, he settled down and rubbed both of his eyes.
And his eyes was not deceiving him! She was not there anymore.
"Did she just escaped after what she initiated me to do?!" He could not believe it, standing up and getting out of the bedroom, he was searching for her.
Not in the living room.
Not in the kitchen.
Not in the bathroom.
And not even in the storage room?!
He was in awe, yet the silence was more unbearable. He sat in one the sofas there as he reminisced what he just did to her before he escape his grasp.
"Am I a bad guy now? Am I? How could she leave after that? And on top of that, where is she off to? Her home? Then, what happened between us was only one night thing?" He had a blank expression on but his mind was allready wandering on and about.
"What now? Have you finished the stocks, again?" Conrad sounded pissed upon askinng him.
"No, Conrad. We've been found out." Said Luther as he was panicking. His eyes were dilating rather shaking, he was going back and forth.
"Can't you settled down for a seat and just tell me what happened? Looking at you now, it seems you're slowly getting back to your normal complexion." He tapped the chair using his foot as he was signalling him to sit.
Luther did follow but he rubbed his hands against his pants. Attempted to restrain himself. "Have I ever told you why I finished all the blood one time?"
"Yes, yes, it was very annoying. But what about it?" He rolled his eyes before exhaling.
"Well, I met her again last night. This time, she was in trouble. A couple of blokes were ganging up on her, trying to take advantage of her. No matter how I wanted to ignore her since my urges were kicking badly, I still did because I really heard some screaming before that. I brought her in to one of the apartments in that hotel you brought me to, was supposed to leave her alone. But, Conrad, she knew why I was like that, she knew that I was a vampire before even telling her. She knew the existence of mere vampires. What shall we do?" Dread filled his eyes, as he feared the statements that came out of his mouth.
"Did you touched her then? Have you bitten her?" He asked.
"I- I did. She initiated it, somehow I couldn't control myself then, it was as if she had control over me. I was lured in."
"Haaah, this is harder than I thought. If ever she did tell it to the public, wait- where is she?"
"She escaped just this morning."
Now Conrad could only ever let his frustrations go with sighing heavily. "Alright, for now. Give me details about this woman, and after that it would be better if you stay inside your apartment. If you need anything, here's a phone. My contacts are all there, just tell me if you need anything. Don't go roaming around like a kid. I know you're older than me but that head of your is clearly no, so do as I say."
And so he did. After Conrad asked him about the woman, Conrad looked even more frustrated then, he just don't know why.
He stayed inside his apartment, wondering where could she be. What she was doing and what was going on with her by now?
"I could not even ask what was your name. Now you left me with all these worries. How will you ever repay me then?"
