Ragnarok battle of god's and men

Subtitle:The Journey.

The team's walked forward following the outward road heading on their journey, each with their different thoughts on their minds.

Gabe and Marcus were at the front with their weapons.

Gabe with a sword strapped to his waist while holding a shield, as Marcus strapped two swords on his back with his food bag on his shoulder.Eramis held a repeating crossbow while Damil held a long sword strapped to his waist and every one of them also had their good bags strapped on their back.

Arriving at a stable by the roadside, they bought four horses for sixty-five gold coins and each of them mounted and rode off with Marcus leading the way as he occasionally glanced into the map he held in hand. At sunset the team has arrived beneath mount Erith the last mountain before they stepped out of Isengar in their land. They set up camp, each person laying up a resting place before taking out something to eat while cracking jokes.

"Hey Gabe how is so far" Damil threw a joke at Gabe.

"Hahaha Damil it seems you are now getting homesick, or are you feeling for your girl Amie" Gabe replied answering the joke.

"Haha haha you are damn insane Gabe, how do you know about his girlfriend" Marcus said laughing.

"Hey Marcus what about you, why leave Laurel behind thought she is your...." Eramis was speaking as Marcus quickly clamps his hand over his mouth muffling the talk as the other burst into a great deal of laughter as Marcus slowly let go Eramis.

"You talk a lot Eramis, must you talk about all you know" Marcus queried him with laughter in between the question.

"You know it seems we were just made for this, four friends going volunteering on this mission.that's kind of..... Don't know what to call it" Damil spoke on a serious note.

"You are right Damil, but how do we locate the demigods. You know it has been long we last saw of them" Eramis added.

"Well let's follow the map we have here and leave the rest to luck you know. But are we going to find the in one place or what I don't understand" Marcus asked.

"That has been bothering me since we left, how are we going to find all the demigods since I suppose they are not together in one place or are they" Eramis added.

"I suppose not, but how do we go about finding them. Because it won't be an easy one brother's.this mission, I think is requiring a far greater task than we imagined" Gabe who had been silent all this while replied that question.

"Well I think we should go to sleep now in the morning we continue the journey. For now, we have to follow the directions of the map until we start seeing positive results in the journey" Marcus said as everyone laid down on their various makeshift beds and rested their heads waiting for the next day.

But unknown to them, a figure has been trailing them since they left Isengar, but had been keeping a safe distance away from them.

Unknown Figures POV.

.

This group of men had passed through my mountain and their mission is not clear to me, well, I'm not busy for so long I am going to keep following them until I get to know their mission.

I have been following them since the day they crossed my mountain, first they have a map with them which shows they have a destination in mind. Secondly the first one with two swords behind him has this confidence of a man in charge, but he is not in charge though the others respect him a lot, but the second among them with a sword and a shield has the mind of a lion, he is fearless and powerful with the strength of ten men, but he is as gentle as a dove and as cunning as a serpent.

The third with the crossbow has the wisdom of Athena in him, he is wise and the magic musical mind of Apollo rests upon him and with his flute, he calm even the most dangerous of minds while the last of them is just a mimicker, the Morales of others keeps him going and when the others are down he weakens and drops.

.

The next morning saw the rest of the team sleeping soundly as the sweet Melody of Eramis flute which he was blowing at the early wee hours of the morning aid them in sleeping more comfortably, then Damil woke up.

"Good morning Damil, how was the night rest" Eramis inquired, dropping the flute.

"Morning Eramis, it seems you woke up earlier than usual. wait, you brought your flute with you, must you have brought it with you" Damil spoke asked curiously.

"You know my flute is my source of joy and without it, it seems am not alive, you understand" Eramis answered.

"But how do an insignificant thing as a flute be the reason of your joy and happiness" Damil asked Eramis sincerely.

"Well I was born the only son of my parents and I have no other siblings, I grew up in solitude because my friends were all bullies who made me retreat into the shell of loneliness and shyness. At 9, my father got killed by a wild animal during hunting, then at the age of 12 my mother bought this flute from a philosopher who told my mom that the flute will make me feel happy and emerge out of the shell I had created for myself and truly it did so, whenever I play the flute singing melodies sweet to the ear I find joy in me" Eramis said as he looked at the flute smiling before returning it to his bag.

"Wake up sleepy heads it's morning" Damil spoke out loud while clapping his hands as the others sat up and rubbed their eyes trying to get the sleep out of them.

"Morning Damil, morning Eramis" Gabe greeted as he stood to his feet while folding his bedding sat once.

"Morning everyone" Marcus greeted as he bent low folding his bedding.

"How was everyone's night's" Eramis asked sincerely.

"Mine was wonderful"

"Great"

"Well, mine was really comfortable"

"I think everyone should take something to eat before we leave, we have to move early if we wish to beat the early morning sun" Gabe proposed.

"Me I think we should make a head start then later we lay camp and eat something" Eramis suggested.

"I think Eramis is right, let's go by his suggestion. How do you see that" Marcus asked smiling.

"Fine by me, let's get going" Gabe said as he slung his bag behind him with his sword strapped beside him and his shield at his back.

The others followed suit and the team came out of the cave they rested in and continued their journey, ignorant of the figure trailing them from above the mountain ranges. The team chattered on following the lead of Marcus who held the map as Gabe followed behind with Damil next and Eramis at the rear, their faces beamed with smiles and joy as they walked across the rough terrain's of the mountainside leaping across massive rocks that fell from the mountain top while on the lookout for possible hostile attack.

Few minutes later, Marcus halted his steps and slowly crouch behind a blonder that laid across the pathway.

Beckoning to Eramis who slowly crouched to him, once beside him Marcus gave them a head nod to look over. There few meters away from them stood a big deer with its skin glowing like it was covered with oil.

Eramis quickly fitted an arrow to his crossbow, raised it above the rock they hid behind, taking an aim he released the arrow and watch it sank into the deer's neck. With a great force, the deer leaped up and landed on the grassy plain without a sound, not even a kick or any struggle.

The team quickly ran out of hiding and head to the dead deer, shouting on the top of their voices. On reaching there they stood with their hands akimbo watching the meat before them, without wasting time Damil lifted the deer to his neck and walked forward heading for the shelters of the cliffs above as the rest followed behind. Reaching the edge of the cliff he dropped the carcass down as he pulled a dagger from his waist and set to work cleaning the meat while Gabe made a fire, soon strips of meat hung on the fire roasting and awaiting devouring.

Few minutes later everyone reclined on their various positions with piece of meat in their hands and sipping water from their water skin's oblivious of their surroundings. The figure trailing them stood on top of a nearby cliff, watching as they munched on the pieces of meat hanging on the fire with a sly smile on his face.

"Puny humans, they get happy easily and walk together. Their type of togetherness is something I haven't been in ages, but still, my eyes are still on them" the figure spoke to himself as he's remaining standing watching them. Two hours later the team continued their journey with the rest of the deer meat wrapped up and packed up in each their bags for the journey ahead, looking up from the map Marcus uttered a warning to the others.

"We are approaching something, but I don't know what it is, so be on guard brother's" Marcus cautioned.

It didn't take long for the team to leave the safety of the mountains and come out to the open, and immediately they stepped foot on the semidesert sand a creature broke loss and roared loudly in front of them as they drew their weapons immediately.
