Young Blood

Brittania had just lost its capability to launch or defend any naval attack in near time. The council was still hearing the report talking about the demise of the British navy.

Lucius had walked out of the room while making a big proposition that we won't ever let the enemy win from there but to anyone sitting there it was just a foolish proposition made by every esteemed leader who later faces multiple failures which makes them see reality.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The evening sun was shining its bright orange light which reflected on the light orange and blond hair of the man, Lucius Artorius, caring a sword in the sheath on his left leg. He had a stolid expression on his face while being completely aware of his surroundings he still looked like he was lost in thought.

"Sir Lucius, Glad to meet you there." A man called to Lucius.

"Mr Aurby, I was also coming to visit you. I am glad we could meet here. Please have a walk with still my office, we can't discuss our matters there."

"No, I am sorry. I was just here to visit my son, I heard a few soldiers have returned from the attack. So, I am expecting to meet him here."

"...."

Lucius didn't give an immediate answer, he turned his back towards the old man and said in an unempathetic voice.

"He won't be coming back. He had died in the recent battle." Lucius in strict voice with his face unchanging but the person Infront of him had a different reaction.

"What!!! You are lying right, you said there was NO CHANCE ON him ever dying."

"I said that to you but not to him, he was ready to die that's why he went there."

"You BASTARD!!!!"

The old man walked up to Lucius and grabbed the collar of his white shirt in response Lucis didn't move and stood still.

"I have lost my son and you don't have a hint of guilt of sending in there in the face of death."

"...."

There was no reply from Lucius he stood still and stoic as ever.

"Saying something, why aren't you sad huh, you are the one who asked to fight in the war, and now he died, why are you so quiet now?!"

"YOU BAST-"

"-!"

The old man filled with anger and grief tried to slap Lucius but he caught it before he could HIT HIM. His eyes were not filled with anger at the ignorance of the old man.

"You think your son did anything to be proud of, huh?..."

The words were in an authoritative tone and directed like a personal attack on the old man.

"You only sent him to the army because it would raise your company's respect among the people, you greedy pigs only care about money. The people who have suffered were the parent of the poor soldiers. You will forget about the death in two days when money comes into your hand due to your son being a "martyr"."

The words were cold and harsh and expressed Lucius's anger towards the greed of the rich people of Brittania.

"Your son didn't deserve the position of the commander, he paid his way through the ranks. I praised him and I did but what I praised was his stupidity. He was an angry owl for glory. He died because-"

"Leave me and shut up!!"

The old man unable to hear such cruel words about his dead son begged Lucius to let him go. but he held his hands firmly ignoring any request.

"WHY ARE you running now? can't bear reality?"

"Let me go!"

"Your son was a glory-hungry pig too, who in search of doing something that filled his ego did the stupid things and now his action got him killed as we completely lost your fleet."

The old man started to pant, and he clutched his heart and fell to his knees.

" Money, just money. It's what plagues us-"

?!"

Suddenly a volley of arrows came right at Lucius and he barely dodged the attack.

He ran and took cover behind a wall pulling the old man with him.

"Who IS THIS?!"

the volley of arrows was fired from the west direction but there were so visible traces of the enemy as Lucius turned to look behind the wall.

"THERE!"

A person suddenly came right running, Lucius had felt his presence just before.

"Ahh.."

The attacker swings his sword right at Lucius who is just able to dodge the sword attack.

Lucius brought out a sword of his own from the sheath and tried to give the enemy a deep wound.

"!!!" "

"Got you."

The attack was successful and it was a swing that went deep into the chest, his sharp sword could easily pierce through any armour but Lucius saw something peculiar.

"No armour in close combat."

The enemy dressed in a dark and white coat still standing in a cold voice.

"The assassins of Saxony are here to end your reign."
