A Visit to the Past-II

She had beautiful brown eyes, brisk red hair, and a joyful smile, she didn't look like someone being hurt or wanting to cry, but to Edward it was different. He saw through that girl the day he met her.

"Well, can you get more details about how you met her?"

Lucius brought Edward back to reality, he had gotten lost in his world, reliving his life in his mind.

"Details..?"

"Yes, about how you came in contact in the first place?"

"When the aristocracies moved to the rebel side, the royal made a final attempt to get back their support or to a better phrase, remove any person who wasn't supporting them."

"The Plague Masks?"

"Yes."

The Plague mask were men in black called from another side of the world, by the queen's homeland. They were skilled murderers who specialised in poison and manslaughter. Their existence had caused many families to join back the royalty.

"So, you were assigned to protect her?"

"Yes, I was ordered to kill certain targets at first in group missions but I lacked coordination with others, so my work became solo missions soon."

"Why was a skilled solo mission expert assigned to a single girl?"

"Money and control, The assassins weren't funded by either the rebels or the royalty, we worked for the rebels but killed either side if we were too low in funds."

"No loyalty, well that's a thing one should have in their principles."

"The assassin's orphanage feeds more children than your so-called help centres. Money was important, as the side of the rebels kept refusing to give what we needed. We were on our own."

"You are being quite defensive and supportive towards the creed aren't you?"

"Well, it is what it is."

"Continue with the story."

"So, after paying up a huge sum of money the Wesh family bought my protection for their daughter and other family members, living in hiding. That's where I first saw her-"

Edward had satisfied glee on his face.

"She had a good smile, a charming look, a mesmerising voice and her eyes reflected the beauty of nature in themselves."

Edward's words seemed like an artist who had just the perfect creation was excitedly describing how great and beautiful it was.

"You don't seem like a person who would get caught in love at first sight."

"I didn't fall for her the moment I saw but my mind certainly had a shock wave and my body had something different at that moment. but I stayed by her side for a long time or maybe my teenage mind had taken over, I was 15 you know."

" teenage falling for young girls, nothing new here."

" She was 15 too had her body was quite mature~"

Edward made it should like in an entirely different tone as he wanted to tell something to Lucius and he instantly caught the Idea.

"I am 24 and unmarried but that is my choice, there are a lot of things I need to do before getting married. Get to the point."

"It wasn't a manor they lived at but a small house made to raise a proper fine lady to marry into another big family."

"Wait, you are telling me that they kept her there to train her for marriage."

"She was going to be married into an aristocracy out of the country and she was training to properly behave and act with higher families there."

"That doesn't seem pretty rough for a 15-year-old. Like, I had bigger problems when I was fifteen."

"..."

Edward gave Lucius a straight face with no words, Lucius soon released that he said something silly. He was fighting for his freedom but That girl was looking between houses not being able to fight for her freedom and waiting to be given away by her family.

"I'm sorry. Please continue."

Edward without any thought continued his story.

"I told you, that it was training house and she was given some even day to go out. The house was surrounded by flowers a lot of flowers but she never liked one. Whenever the both of us passed from there, she paid them no heed and moved to stone close to the ocean and looked at the waves."

"..."

Lucius was now extremely intent on listing the story and did not object or obstruct by asking any question when Edward spoke.

"That was maybe only 30 minutes in the day when she looked satisfied and content with her life. Her smile wasn't fake or forced and she never help her tears back there. The cited and spoke all her complaints about me, her family, her negative thoughts or positive thoughts everything."

"As time passed, I first approached her and talked to her. We both surprisingly got good together, it was now that we were starting to truly,

"Fall In Love."
