The True Ruler Of Britannia

"You've found what?"

"To be exact I haven't found it, they are why to clear hiding their trail."

"Then why do you say that you found them?"

"I have found the answer to your dilemma. We need to bring the body of the dead assassin into play."

"The dead body of the assassin? What purpose will that serve?"

"Hang it in the middle of the city, publicly in front of everyone and call it out or shame it. An assassin would never see their comrade getting shamed like this and someone will break, and we will use that to our advantage."

"That's quite an evil act you are asking me to do... Do you even consider the consequences of the actions you are asking me to do?"

There was great a reason for Lucius to worry. Calling a dead body in public and shaming it in front of them was an act of pure evil, it could maybe bring out the assassins but it would send absolute terror to the minds of the normal folk.

"Well, you have several traitors working inside your government, the ones who will criticise you will be the main suspects."

"That's a narrow-minded thought, people today are too good with honour, and freedom is taken for granted now, everybody thinks they can be a big shot and someone important by criticising my work."

"That's true isn't it, the number of people who hate your government rises each day, they have freedom in what they are using aren't you keeping them too free? It seems you don't have much control over your people."

"NO Contol...."

Lucius heard these words in a low voice looking down but soon his expression changed.

"HAahah!"

Lucius burst into laughter after Edward's remark about control over the people. Lucius thought the claim was to so funny and he laughed in front of Edward for the first time.

"These cunts think they have a chance! the people here are nothing but slaves of money, I'll give them some bit of gold and they will even sell their own lives to me. Money is what this kingdom is built upon."

Lucius's carefree words had amused Edward to a degree, he felt for the first time that's had felt a roaring leader he had heard about.

" To think your people are slaves of money, you can't have loyal people, do you?"

"That old man, Foal, built a house of family members only staying there because the old grandfather had an inheritance that satisfied their greed."

"So, what different are you? You are building trust for money, right? Public welfare and whatnot?"

"So, it doesn't matter, if I lose control, who will rule this place? I am too big of an asset to take away, the rich support me because I save them from the poor, and the poor support me because I give them the illusion that they are not being crushed by the rich. I am the architect and foundation of this kingdom."

Maybe it was the stress or it was Edward's company but Luicus had something changed in him, he no more felt like someone who was struggling to maintain his rule. HE realised that his rule was ABSOLUTE!

"Can I expect a public death calling of the person who tried to kill you but got crushed?"

Edward had a smile on his face, he had started to enjoy the show and he felt like he created a masterpiece that was the new Lucius Artorius.

"We will have the calling in three days before that I need to meet with the 'hidden rulers' is what the conspirators call it, I need to put them back in their place and you will go for another mission."

"A job for me? I am amused to know what it will be?"

"Bring your daughter to the city within three days for the public event."

Edward's smile was no longer there, he was ordered for an incredibly risky call of bringing his daughter, someone he didn't want to confront in current conditions.

"My daughter had no involvement in all of this. I don't understand the motive here."

"You suggested this plan, now you and Jennifer have everything to do with this. If you don't bring her here my soldiers will. The choice is yours."

"Keep my daughter's name out of your mouth!!"

'Don't try anything funny, Assassin or your daughter might not see tomorrow's sunlight."

Lucius had a creepy smile on his face taunting Edward, telling him about his powerlessness in the situation. He could not go against Lucius's words if he wanted to see and protect his daughter.

"Your train to the Walling County leaves tonight. I'll give you the map and the directions but don't run away or your other family will not see you the next day's morning."

Lucius had just cornered each of his enemies in a span of ten minutes. He held absolute control of the situation. He didn't care about anybody but himself now, he remained at the top of the world he saw and created.

"This country will reunite under,

My Rule!!!!!"
