Engineering the Situation.

The next day was there and Jane's forces got ready to cover the rest of their path on their horses. The journey was an easy road for them until now, they hadn't encountered any resistance or gotten any feeling that someone was following them.

"Get ready, the ports are too deeply guarded by Britannia's forces so beware of any onlooker."

Jane gave the team orders and the team started their journey as the sun was rising, they crossed through the path they had travelled before while under the control of Britannia's forces and guided themselves to the course of the port.

Soon enough they reached a point was the port was visible to the eye from afar.

While riding her horse, Jane looked at the terrain and found an excellent area to take surveillance.

"Go near that high-lying area and take a good look at the scene."

The team moved their horses and settled at the high terrain, using their spyglasses to analyse the situation at the port.

Two soldiers brought out their spyglasses and looked at the port but the scene clawed their eyes.

"What is the condition?"

"..."

The soldier did say a word, he stopped and a haunting and nauseous expression took over his face.

"What is going on?!"

Jane was annoyed by this action and took the spyglass and looked at the port herself.

"!!!!"

Corpses and Blood were the only things to see, the water was turned red and the birds eating the dead bodies the port had become a massacre zone.

Bodies of countless soldiers floated in the sea and all the boats were destroyed at the port.

Not a single vessel remained. It wasn't Britannia soldiers who did this.

"Lynx's soldier?"

Lynx had directly gone behind the backs of Asphodel and Britannia and completely conquered port destroying any possible return for the Asphodel and Britannain soldiers, they had to remain in the enemy territory and win, it wasn't possible to go out.

"Damn it!"

Jane's mission was already a failure, there were no boats to travel back with. She couldn't just go back, saying they have no chance of calling reinforcements. That would instantly declare Asphodel Loss.

"We need to get a boat somehow, is there any way we can do that?"

Jane shouted in desperation as she found no way out of this.

"Mam, there is a high chance there are some 2 men boats present in side the warehouses near the port. If we can get there we can send a team of 2 to contact Asphodel."

Jane saw a way in this, her desperate call for help had been answered but inside she felt anger for not being able to figure out such an easy idea herself.

"NO! No! Stop! we need to move!"

Giving no time and moving forward to capture the boats at the warehouse, Jane readied herself.

"There are a large number of enemy personnel at the warehouse. We need to surprise them and gain a quick victory. Any one of you, go back right now and deliver the root about the port to Commander right now."

The team readied their guns, knives and horses. They were now ready to complete their mission, by confronting many soldiers.

They moved near the port and towards the warehouses near the port's main structure.

The warehouse had approximately 50 soldiers for its protection, there was no chance they were protecting anything inside that warehouse.

The soldiers walked around the front of the warehouse, some stood at the top railing looking out for enemies when a red barrel rolled in front of them.

"Wha-?"

"!!"

A shot was fired directly at the barrel causing it to blast right in front of the warehouse. The sound was heard throughout the port and all soldiers got ready for a battle.

Jane and her team hid beside boxes and aimed and fired, continuously changing position and giving the enemy no time to think.

"Flank the side they are weak there!"

The plan was to target the left side, with more hiding spots.

"Move! Move!"

The 19 soldiers pushed ahead against the enemy with a formation of 14 ground attackers and 5 strong shooting supports.

The enemy was disorganised and they took advantage of that but the element of surprise couldn't have lasted forever.

"one man down!"

A sharpshooter was directly shot and killed by the enemy, It hit instantly at soldiers who were fighting their way.

"Don't give up, Even if 2 of us survive this, we win!"

Jane shouted to boost the team's morale and they kept attacking and attacking...

"It's over!"

The assault was finally over and Jane had lost 6 men in the direct attack, her guilt was in her eyes but she stayed calm to value their sacrifice, they had won against nearly 50 men while being only 19.

As they walked through the corpses of the dead soldiers and regrouped themselves the gates of the warehouse were open for them.

She moved ahead and walked into the warehouse, she lifted the curtain at the main entrance to see...

"There is nothing here!"

That very instant multiple soldiers got up from the upper railings and pointed their guns right at Jane and her team.
