A Question

Rargo was standing outside the walls, trying to get in contact with Levi and Vincent. He had sent his messenger to ask them about their subsequent actions.

While Quince stood in his camp, thinking about ways to force their way, considered the castle, the advantage of their attack would vanish in a short while if quick action was not taken.

"What could be done? Attacking the castle immediately would get us no help."

The ways of directly winning were short. Quince believed that with the help of Levi and Vincent, that could be achieved but,

"Sir, Please take a look outside. It seems smoke is coming from inside the castle."

"What?"

Quince came out of his camp; his face was immediately splashed by the blowing winds, but as he turned his face and looked towards the castle.

"What is going on?"

The going over the castle walls carried full black smoke, as dark as the clouds. It sent doubt to people about what was going on inside the walls.

"Sir, it seems Captain Levi and Vincent have directly appeared with some soldier from the forests."

"!!!"

The events were getting fast and were building onto something. However, the objective and circumstances of Levi and Vincent's appearance were still unclear.

Both the captains came walking to Rargo, who was dubious of the ordeal.

"Hello there, Captain Quince. It seems you are confused with our appearance but please order the soldiers to arm themselves first. We can have the secondary talks later."

Rargo quickly nodded and asked the soldier nearby to spread the message to all the troops to be in a position to attack.

"Please move to my tent; I'll need a quick explanation of the current circumstances. It is extremely confusing now."

The three then moved to Rargo's camp, leaving behind the soldier there to arm themselves and get ready for battle.

As the three entered the camp, Rargo offered the chairs to the other two captains while he kept standing.

"Now, explain your appearance and the sudden offence order's explanation."

Levi brought two letters out of his pocket as Rargo asked for an explanation. He handed them over to Rargo, who quickly began to read them.

"This is the reason we are here. The "voice" and his allies set the capital on fire. They send these letters telling us to attack and capture the city. The enemy is weakened."

"The two letters have the same content, so why are there two of them?"

"It was probably to make sure if one of the letters gets to either side of the forces due to the wind. They probably have seen more than two, but these are the ones we received."

Rargo closed the letter and understood the things that he was watching happening. Levi explained further the reason for his and Vincent's crssoosignof the forest.

"Their claim of burning seems true by all the smoke coming out, it not possible to produce this level of smoke as deception and also archer from all sides have disappeared."

Vincent continued Levi's words attaching his thoughts to the sentences.

"The disappearance of the archer is the biggest hit, they can't allow us to move freely when they have heavily injured themselves,

and now, we need to capitalize on the situation and get the victory."

While the attacks to conquer the capital were being discussed on the outside, the weapon of ending the conflict for Lynx was in someone's hands, already.

Arthur held the flare gun in his hands and had the power to end the conflict and grant victory to the Asphodel forces, but he had questions to answer before that.

Shin was incapacitated, but it looked like he was going to gain consciousness back in a few seconds, all the while, Arthur looks a nearby chair and sat on it.

Shin slowly opened his eyes and he looked upon Arthur covered in red sitting near the window.

"Oh, you are finally awake. I would have fired this if a message or guard appeared before you woke up."

"You-"

"Now, speaking, your body is injected with my special toxin right now;

you are being paralysed slowly, don't move much, or it will happen more quickly."

"You bastard. What do you want? How are you working for?"

"Come on, Man! I am the one who is victorious here, I am the one who will be asking the questions, and I can always fire the green flare if you don't answer."

"..."

"Let me tell you the situation in the big picture. Your capital is burning, I have defeated the chief of the defending forces, and I can declare your surrender anytime. I want."

"Damn it!"

Shin understood that he was defeated and with those he had failed, his kingdom, his queen and the people who trusted him. He was just powerless in front of the enemy in his current position.

Tears coming out of his eyes. The tears showed acceptance of the fact that he was defeated, and it was over.

"Don't cry, you held pretty well. You could have won this if I wasn't involved, but here we are."

It was true. The assassin had turned the tide in Asphodel's favour. The situation was a winning game for Lynx, but fate wasn't on their side.

"Now, for my question. Is your queen the type of person to make a last stand?"

"What?!"

Shin's tears stopped as he was asked the question about his queen.

"Oh, I need to elaborate? I am saying that, imagine, if your queen was given a fighting chance in a situation like this, in which you are? Yes or No. Would she fight or not?"

"Yes, she would fight till she died, If she got the chance."

"Thank you! I thought Yuuka might get the victory easily this time."

"..."
