Attack on the Lord.

"Edward Kenway, appear in front of me, right now. Appear in front of me at this moment or there will be consequences."

Royas called Edward to come out of hiding, but Edward was more worried about something else.

"Father, why are they calling you?"

With a tear and a scared look, Dia asked Edward in a trembling voice.

"I think they have business with me. Don't worry, nobody here can do anything to you and me. I won't let happen."

Edward comforted his little daughter, held her hand tightly, and stood up.

"Let's go, Don't leave my hand okay."

Although it was just hours before the two had met, the bond between them grew up to be very deep, ready to face guns if it were her father who stood beside her.

"Let's go."

They began walking towards Royas's position; a soldier immediately pointed a gun at the two.

"Don't worry. I am the person your chief is looking for."

Hearing this, he did not lower his gun, but he moved aside and allowed the two spaces to move forward.

The two walked through the standing people and soldiers, facing different people. Their gazes showed all kinds of emotions anger, confusion, sorrow all of them.

As the gazes of the people showed malice and disgust,

"Dia close your eyes."

"Umm."

Dia closed and Edward picked her up on his shoulder, he couldn't allow her heart to hurt at such a young age.

Edward made his way in front of Royas, surrounded by soldiers and guns pointed at this face from all sides. Edward and Royas's eyes met for the first time, both gazes were sharp and displayed their intent.

"Don't make me do things I don't want to."

The two of them were simultaneous to one another through their eyes, which understood each other clearly. While Dia had her eyes clearly closed but she holding Edward as tightly as he could

"!!!!"

The entire mood changed as Edward took one step closer towards Royas, the soldier became hyperalert and Royas himself was a bit surprised. The guns came closer to Edward and the soldier position their finger at the aim.

"Calm your fingers. The spy you are looking for has already left this area according to me. Release these innocent people here."

Edward didn't say it outright but his tongue bit it and Royas understood the message.

"Free everybody and Edward you'll follow me."

"I will. Just put down these guns."

Royas signalled the soldiers to do so and the two alongside Dia in Edward went inside the building.

They climbed the stairs into the building and reached the uppermost floor, reaching the floor they walked through an empty hallway filled with windows but no room. They kept walking through the hallway and reached a door at the end of it.

Royas opened the door and entered the room first and Edward walked behind him.

"I need your help for some important business," Royas said the first words as Edward entered the room.

The room was very similar to the room Dia and Edward were in a while ago, the only difference was a big desk and a chair instead of a small table and sofas.

"I'll help whatever business you have but get some help for my daughter first."

Edward put Dia down on her feet and she slowly opened her eyes, they were filled with tears due to all the tension and scary things that just happened.

"Fa... father?? It's so scary."

"Don't worry. I told you right, I am here nobody can do anything to you and me."

Dia immediately hugged Edward, and Edward hugged her back, feeling the tears of his daughter. His anger was bursting out. With this expression, he gazed at Royas with a terrifying look.

Royas sat unfazed in his seat but understood he made a small mistake.

"I am sorry for my actions. Mr. Edward."

Royas understood the situation very well; he made a miscalculation. He didn't think Edward would be present with her daughter like in the letter. He thought it was an excuse to send him here, but it was wrong.

A while passed in silence; Royas knew it was impossible to have a conversation until Edward's daughter was present.

"She's asleep."

Dia had slept on Edward's shoulders; it wasn't surprising for kids to sleep after they cried.

Seeing this, Royas rang a bell, and soon, a lady came into the office,

"Please take the girl outside. It would impossible to talk properly with her here."

The lady was about to take Dia but Edward stopped her.

"She will remain here. I cannot trust anybody inside this building, nobody. She will be staying here."

Royas seeing Edward's way of talking took a sign and signaled the lady to go back.

The lady soon exited from the door, and Edward laid Dia on the small sofa lying at the corner of the room.

"Now tell me what do you want?!"

Edward got straight to the business as he walked and slammed his hands on the table.

"Some fellow businessman of yours might be planning to assassinate another regional lord, today."

"Regional lord?! Why are you telling me this right now?!"

"We only received the message from the pigeon a second ago. Apparently, the Catholic Christians are making a big march against the rising taxes on their churches. The regional lord will be there to meet them. So, there is a big chance he will get attacked and killed there."

Edward's pupils dilated, and he clenched his fists.

"Goddamnit! There is going to be an attack, get me there as soon as possible."

It all made sense; they never intercepted Edward because they would reach him using Chaos. If they kill another lord, the people will lose their trust in Lucius, significantly costing Edward.
