First Sparks.

The light showers of rain began to fall as the clouds quickly swallowed the start night sky into dark clouds, and the city's civilians rested in their inns in the comfort of their blankets.

However, the same was not the one who stood behind the walls of the port, ships loaded and unloaded day and night. The lamp lighted in the streets; it was time for the opening of the members of the underground ruler, or 'mafias' as they were now being called, came for their trade.

While this happened outside, Edward sat on this stool beside a door, waiting eagerly for his introduction to the girl he met for two hours. The events from the past two hours were running through his mind.

 "So, are we ready?"

Thomas emerged from the door alongside a soldier wearing his uniform and a doctor wearing a red robe.

"She is ready to talk but shocked; it seems her mind was greatly affected. She keeps on trying to hurt herself. So, don't suggest pushing her to say anything."

" You heard him, Edward. She is ready to talk, but don't be too harsh on her." Thomas signalled Edward to go in, and so Edward went in.

The rain was getting ever faster each second. Along the wind, which grew colder and faster, it was visible from the window from which the girl in front of Edward looked outside.

Edward did not take a seat. Instead, he chose to stand alongside the wall of the room.

"A lot has happened to you in the last couple of hours and I feel sorry for you, but I want information for you right now. So, shall we start with you telling me your name?"

The girl, in response, held her opposite to Edward, not facing him and her lips shut together.

"Not a kid, are you? Thomas gets away from the wall. I don't want anyone but me to hear her. Her words will be my alone to hear." Edward said.

The effect was immediate as a light groan was heard from outside the door, followed by a noise of footsteps.

Edward opened the door to check outside; the hallway was empty. It was just him and the girl. He closed the door again, getting ready to move the conversation forward.

"Need not worry now. The entire hallway is empty and so the nearby rooms. It now you and me." Edward now wanted the girl to say something, but she did not.

She didn't face, and her lips were still shut, but her hands covered in bandages were now out of the blankets.

"Do not think I am working for the Britannia or anyone. I am working for myself alone. Talk to me and give me the necessary information, or you know how I beat Prince earlier... I can go far worse."

Edward didn't have time to persuade her to talk calmly, but his threat was too harmful.

"!!!!"

Without a single word from her mouth, the girl jumped from her bed and grabbed the knife lying on the table nearby,

"Hey, stop!!"

Edward rushed to the girl whose bed was a few feet from the door, but he wasn't fast enough before he could catch her hands, and she pushed the knife at the throat.

Edward groaned as he grabbed the girl's waist, holding her bandaged body firmly.

"Safe. I thought you'd jump out of the window. I didn't think about that earlier.", Edward cried inside his mind.

"Huh?! This is... Fake."

The girl was surprised as she did not feel the knife stab her, but the blade rolled inwards, preventing her from penetrating herself, and then she began to struggle.

Trying to escape, she nearly got her feet on off the bed, but Edward's leg locked her, and the exhaustion of the treatment and the pain of wounds was now felt in her nerves.

"Calm down, young lady. I am far smarter and more experienced than you in these types of situations. Trust me here."

Saying this, Edward let go of the girl, whose body was now totally relaxed due to the exhaustion. He laid her properly on the bed and put a blanket on her body, taking the fake knife with him.

They grabbed a water bottle, which fell off the table and drank nearly all of it, sparing some for the girl. He sighed deeply before inspecting the room for anything else the girl could use to rebel against him.

It seemed empty with its green-painted wooden walls and floor, which creaked at his walking feet and the loud noise of the rainfall covering it. He began to walk towards the bed.

"Take the water bottle from my hand and raise your thumb if you trust me now, or just take the water if you don't trust me."

The girl took the bottle from Edward's hands and slowly raised the thumb from her left hand, causing Edward to smile. Edward sat on the bed near the extreme of the bed, away from the girl's face.

Trying to offer her companion while still giving her space to think. As the girl finished Drinking the water

"So let us. Continue the conversation from before: What is your name? and your work?"

"My name is Elana. I am or was a thief who worked alongside Prince for small robberies at the regional lord's homes or church donations. We lived easily of them."

"Do you follow any religion or atheist? and don't ask why I am asking this."

"I am catholic. I studied basic education at an orphanage funded by the church, so I considered religion natural. I used to attend mass with Prince, too."

"So, Prince is a catholic? I thought he was an atheist. Big surprise, I have to commend him. He was a good spy, a master at his work."

"So, you are Edward Kenway. Ahhh... How doomed can I be?"

Saying these words, Elana's eyes became numb as the memory of the moment her life completely changed for the worse came up.

"So, tell me, Elana... it will probably hurt, but tell me how did you got caught in all of this. Why did Prince come to steal my 'Peony', and how did he reach the stuff which made him hurt you."
