In the carriage.
Alec peeked out of the carriage window twice before turning his head to glance at Connie. The latter was reading mechanic books at a portable table, occasionally jotting down notes and sketching with a very focused and serious demeanor.
Seeing this, Alec tiptoed toward the carriage door.
"Mr. Alec, are you planning to take this opportunity to leave?"
Connie put down her pen, raised her head, and asked curiously.
Alec's movements halted abruptly, and he cleared his throat, turning back with a proud posture as he proclaimed:
"Oh no, I was just thinking of going down to help. Don't get me wrong, Miss Connie."
"Mr. Jack has said that the team should stick to their roles; combat personnel are in charge of resolving trouble through force, while we just need to wait patiently here... Plus, Mr. Alec, you are just an ordinary person like me; what help could you offer?"
Connie spoke earnestly.
