Synopsis

Chen Lun transmigrated to the year before the game's public beta, becoming an NPC in the game world.

Thus, a new version was born...

Steam punk, Mysterious Objects, Church, Shelter, the pathways of the Sequences of the Seven True Gods...

He placed his black top hat on his head, standing atop the ruins.

Behind him stood the villain bosses from former game versions, the silent Nun Floey, Bloody Painter Noah, Swordsman Antonio, the delusional clown Alec...

Chen Lun said, "Players grind monsters, I grind players, it makes perfect sense..."

...

Also known as "How to Rationally Use Players as a Sustainable Resource," "These Bosses Are Really Strong But They Are All My Underlings," "No Way! So I Can Be A Deity, Too?!"

This book is a fusion between Lord of Mysteries and The Legendary Mechanic. If you like either of these books, you'll probably like this one.

This review is based on the free chapters. Transmigration? Yes. Into a video game? That's what it claims. OP MC? Does OP knowledge count? Apparently he wasn't OP not a top player, just big brained in some way? But being an NPC Player gives him an advantage, I suppose. This story has elements of mystery and horror. I enjoyed it. The translation quality isn't bad either. Some elements give me Dark Souls vibes but not?? Give it a read and judge the story yourself.

This story is surprisingly good to read—- the only way to vote for this at the moment is via powerstones…. I’d give points too! It’s really wonderful to read a well translated novel. And it is: there are no hick-ups, no potholes while you read (and I do mean Potholes), its honestly smooth compared to about 80% of the stories here. I choose to read more. A probable villain-steampunk/swords-and-magic/victorian/whatever-this mess genre, is surprisingly good. The short intro basically covers the plot.

It's not as good as the other reviews claim. 1: The MC is dumb; he is the type to always rush head-on into problems without any preparation. 2: There's nothing about OP in the MC; even his 'future knowledge' is not that useful (because he is dumb/lacks common sense). 3: He is not the king of villains, but more like the king of heroes. He does recruit villains, but they are villains from his last life. In this life, he always recruits them before they become villains, so they are still all good people, the kind who helps random people on the street even if it causes them problems. Maybe it gets better later but who knows? btw I stopped at ch 80.
