Death of Jonathan

All the lost memories returned to Ryoichi's mind. He made a real quick explanation to Fiona: "I'm not the traitor. It was all Jonathan! Your sister is dead. I tried to save her but failed." Then he told her where he hid Katharina's body and gave her Katharina's ribbon.

"Bury her well. I want to do it with you together but there's no time right now. I have to go."

He summoned the megalodon, where all of the spiders had run out, and put Fiona on its back.

"You'll be safe here."

"Ryoichi!" Fiona yelled, "Be sure to come back after this! I want to hear your explanation, in person!"

He didn't look back.

Ryoichi quickly check megalodon's wound and swam to its head and touched it. "Sorry for that, please do me one last favor. Protect her. I'll help you when I'm done."

The megalodon moaned a little as an agreement and then howled to open the way for Ryoichi.

It was the time to finish the curse of Aranea forever.

Ryoichi opened his right hand to the trident's direction, and that weapon was like being summoned and automatically flying to his hand. Some soldiers tried to hold it right, while they were just bounced away.

After he held the trident again, there was seemingly a light shed on his body. He prayed a little: "I'll finish your curse of endless hunger today," and then went straight to the crowd of spiders.

Currently, both soldiers from Pulchritudinem and Jonathan Kingdom had no time to think of fighting but only focused on running.

The very first batch of people who were bitten or eaten had already started the transformation into the spiders themselve, which made the whole number of monsters nearly doubled.

Ryoichi killed the monsters one after another, while trying to save those who had not been bitten. Every stab to the monster would spray its blood, some of which was splashed to Ryoichi's body and face. Those monsters had a strange color of blood - deep blue, the color of the ocean and also the color regarded as those who were from the lower class. The original white suit of Ryoichi was finally dyed into deep blue.

Take a look at Rodin. He was safer in the mother ship and he had ordered to shoot one more cannon to clear the way and was ready to run without those soldiers out there. However, the number of the spiders was too huge that they climbed over themselves and reached the submarines and mother ship. As long as they got there, they wouldn't let it go. Even the hardest metal shell would not escape from their rodents. Some monsters bit through one of the cannon and the cannonball exploded, taking the whole submarine and people around into the funeral. However, those spiders would only be exploded into disabled, but not died. Even with only half body or a head, those spiders never stopped eating or killing.

Only the ones killed by Ryoichi would vanish in the water.

Rodin was completed scared to tears, while then he suddenly started to laugh.

"That's the most beautiful creatures under the sea! Never stop. Can't be killed. What a beautiful creature! Even prettier than that megalodon I would say. What if I can drive such power! That adjutant! Use the web. Take one!"

He obviously became insane, wanting to take one spider back to research. Actually, he had prepared a web made by the exact same magic as the one above the Mariana Trench. He wanted to use it to take Ryoichi's megalodon. However, he found the spiders more interesting and would love to take one in chaos.

His adjutant was freaked out and refused to do so.

"Your majesty! That spider is a monster! Whoever being bitten would also become the spider! Let's just run out of here. It seems like only that person could kill them forever."

Rodin refused. He raised his sword and killed the adjutant. Then he ordered to shoot another cannon and controlled the web to capture one whose mouth was blown up.

Finally, Rodin took the mother ship and ran away with full speed. However, Ryoichi didn't notice the spider he took away.

As for Jonathan, after he recovered from shock and fear, he also started to run away from this.

"Help! Help!"

He kept pulling soldiers to his side to use them as protect wall.

Then, he saw Fiona, who was safe staying on the back of megalodon. No spider would dare to get close.

He swam to her and asked for shelter.

"Fiona, help me!"

However, the megalodon was malicious to him. It growled to stop him from getting closer.

"Fiona, please!"

Fiona thought of the words by Ryoichi, so she asked: "Was it you that betrayed us?"

"No! Who said that? I didn't do it! There's no time. Can you let me stay with you? Can it listen to you?" He pointed to the megalodon.

"You told me Ryoichi killed Katharina's in Pulchritudinem. Then, why would he take her body back? And how did he have her ribbon?! You liar. It was you all the time, right? I should've known it. Ryoichi wouldn't do such things."

Many of the spiders were killed by Ryoichi, while some soldiers were just starting to transform. One of Jonathan's guard was unfortunately bitten.

"We'll talk about it later! Will you just watch me die here? You still love me, don't you? And I'm still your child's father."

That guard has transformed into a spider and jumped on another person, starting to biting his eyes. The screech scared others, who ran away instead of protecting their king.

"Come back, you idiots!" Jonathan cried and then turned to Fiona again, "Please, please, what should I do? Please help me!"

"Tell me the truth." Fiona said.

"Ah!"

Too late. One spider had already climbed on his back and bitten one piece of flesh.

"It was all me!" The spider bit his ear.

"I killed the ambassador," his left eye were eaten, "so that Pulchritudinem could have the reason for war!"

"I poisoned Katharina's shark and all ocean creatures raised by our people!" Another one got his hand.

"I left all of our soldiers down the Trench!" He lost his leg.

"I sold Katharina to Pulchritudinem!"

Jonathan fell down. He reached his hand to Fiona's direction and made a faint sound: "Help... Forgive..."

Three spiders were all over Jonathan's body and enjoying the flesh. After a while, another spider raised out. It was Jonathan, who was also turned to a monster.

Fiona watched him suffer, die and finally become the monster. Tears unconsciously filled up with her eyes. She loved his beautiful out-looking. Now, he finally became the same outside and inside: an ugly monster.
