Mysterious woman

After the encounter with the woman, Ayame was sprinting to her target not wanting to get any more involved with her.

'Good thing she didn't see my face.' While running she held her hand to her mask, grateful her own identity was still concealed.

After sprinting for a few more seconds the target appeared ahead of her, but because she wasn't concealing herself the middle-aged man turned around.

"Who are you!?" Pulling out a gun and aiming it at Ayame he was about to shoot if she got any closer.

"Sorry, but this is staff only, may I request you die?" Ayame to cope with the stressful situation began her usual roleplay when it came to assassinating her targets.

"Huh? Die?" This threw the man off as it wasn't outrageous for a staff member to be present, but for them to say to die confused him. This also didn't help with his age as he began to get more agitated and took longer to process what was happening.

"Please stand still as I detain you." Ayame entered the light which revealed her fox mask revealing to the man that it was an assassin. Aiming at Ayame's head he fired his pistol, but she was too close and easily dodged the bullet. After the first shot, Ayame now had enough time to disarm the man.

Holding on to the man's wrist, Ayame then smacked his elbow as hard as she could, breaking his arm.

"ARGGHHH!" Screaming in pain as his arm was bent the wrong way, he dropped his gun and kneeled on the floor.

"Phew, now gimme your throat." Ayame reaching behind her pulled out the dagger with the amber crystal on the handle.

"Huh?!" Heavily breathing he looked up at her wondering what she was going to do until he saw the dagger. Falling back he tried to push with his feet to get away, but as he did, fire arose from the ground covering his legs.

"AHHH!" Screaming again as the fire was burning his skin, Ayame had disabled the man completely.

"Finally." Walking behind the man, she held him by the hair and stabbed him directly into his neck. The crystal lit up on the dagger and the life began to get sucked out of the man.

Soon his corpse was just a husk devoid of anything and the crystal was now back to its dormant state.

"Alright now time to get the fuck out of here." Remembering the encounter with the women, Ayame put away the dagger while leaving the corpse to burn. Sprinting to where the man would have exited, there was a black car waiting outside.

"Tsk, I don't have time for this." Not wanting to kill any more people than she needed, was about to cast a wind spell to make herself faster, but suddenly the woman appeared behind Ayame.

"Fufu~ don't worry I will handle this for you." The woman had whispered in Ayame's ear and then suddenly appeared outside where the car was.

Ayame was left in shock and couldn't believe she was being followed the entire time.

Not knowing if she could move or not Ayame watched what the woman was about to do as it could be a hint to who she is especially if she has powers.

The men outside that were waiting all looked in shock seeing the woman suddenly appear out of nowhere.

What Ayame didn't expect to see was the black-furred fox traits suddenly appearing indicating she was a part of the many kitsune families. After her traits appeared a sudden pressure was felt by everyone nearby causing Ayame to get on her knees.

"W-who is she?" Ayame couldn't believe it as only people who have mastered the arts could create such an effect.

All the men outside were lying on the floor and black flames appeared in the woman's hands. Extending her arms out the flames went to their bodies and upon touch would instantly turn to ash.

As they were about to scream in pain the flame quickly washed over them making them disappear like they never existed.

Once they were all gone the woman got rid of her fox traits and appeared in front of Ayame.

"Oh my, I didn't mean to affect you." Helping Ayame off the ground who was shaking, the woman felt bad for her.

"I'm going to ask again… Why?" Ayame was terrified of the woman but was able to hold herself as she did help and did not seem to be a threat.

"Hmm because I like you, plus there is something I wanted to ask~." The woman fully understood Ayame's reaction as it wasn't every day she showed off.

"C-can I know your name?" Ayame, who was still on a mission, wanted to take the opportunity to ask since she seemed friendly for now.

"Kasumi." Saying her name she looked directly into Ayame's eyes expecting an answer back.

"I-I.. Ayame." Feeling like she trapped herself as it was quite a big deal saying her name.

"Cute."

"Anyway, I wanted to ask… Will you join me Ayame?" Stepping away from Ayame to help her relax and indicate that she did have a choice, waited for her response.

"What do you mean?" Ayame was beginning to relax a little as now she did not feel like Kasumi was a threat and was more worried about what she meant.

"Come work with me as a personal hitwoman of course." Smirking underneath her mask, she hoped Ayame would accept.

"I can't, I have things to take care of… You can order my service though."

'What the fuck am I sayinggg. She is literally some kind of dangerous person and I'm advertising my job AHHHH!' screaming internally as although it seemed like Kasumi would be a future target, she may be one of her many customers.

Even though Ayame was mainly a government-hired assassin she was still a freelancer and anyone could pay her to kill, but it was still on a moral basis. It was an unspoken rule among the assassins to only kill those who they deemed as evil and even assassins can kill each other if they feel like they broke that rule. Although it rarely ever happens it is still something that when entering the business was heavily pushed.

"That's a shame, well seeing as I can still hire you that works out better in the end. Give me your contact information." Kasumi reached into her pocket and pulled out a phone to let Ayame type in the information.

"We don't do phone calls, just send us information about the target and you will know whether we accept or not." Ayame hesitantly grabbed the phone and entered the details Tomoe uses to receive missions.

"I know how it works, but I wouldn't mind getting your number~." Walking back up to Ayame and grabbing her chin, she blushed like crazy.

"S-sorry, but I can't provide that kind of information." Ayame, trying to keep some professionalism, declined her offer.

"What a shame, I guess I will just have to find you outside of business hours." Kasumi expected that response and seeing that she was done with adding her details took her phone back.

"I-I…" Ayame was at a loss for words and had no idea what she should do.

"Alright I will be off now, make sure to keep this a secret because if I find out you opened your mouth…. I will kill you." Glaring at Ayame to give her a warning as it was extremely dangerous for Kasumi to give her name.

"I understand." Instantly responding to her warning Ayame was now in a dilemma to keep what she knew hidden or inform whoever wanted that information.

"Good~." Kasumi smiled and the guards she was with appeared out of the darkness.

"M'lady you mustn't indulge so much with strangers… you know what HE will say." One of the guards kneeled next to Kasumi worried about the consequences of what she had done.

"That's why you should keep your mouth shut as well before I burn you to ash!" Stomping down right in front of the guard, it was enough to keep their mouth shut.

"Yes."

*Sigh* "Let's go." turning towards the tunnel Kasumi walked away with her guards following closely.

Ayame watched and as soon as Kasumi was out of sight she fell on her hands and knees.

"What. The. Hell. Was. That." Trying to process what she just went through, it took Ayame 5 minutes to finally stand up.

'I completed the mission, but should I tell Tomoe what I know?' Ayame felt stress building up as it really felt like her life was in danger if she ever said a word.

'I mean she seems like a good person besides the killing part, but I guess the same could be said about me.' Ayame wished she knew why people wanted to find out who Kasumi was since it wasn't a government hire.

'Better keep it a secret for now until I find out more, plus my life is more important and if anything should be happy I got us more customers.' Ayame wanted to preserve her own life and seeing how it turned out to be beneficial finally decided to not say anything.

'Tomoe is probably worried, I need to go.' Having stayed out for much longer than she anticipated, wanted to return home quickly before Tomoe came out to search for her.
