Friends

Days went by, and Edward and Daisy grew accustomed to one another. Daisy being less awkward and Edward speaking up more. Both grew accustomed to their routines. Daisy had grown accustomed to Edward's taunting, and he even considered Daisy's blushing to him very endearing.

The two weeks went by rather quickly, and they were submitting their idea. Following her capitulation, Edward invited Daisy to stay for a while, which she eagerly accepted. Both were making their way down to their amazing cafe. Daisy started the conversation by saying, "So, I wanted to ask you something, Edward," to break the awkward silence. When Daisy paused, Edward nodded his head in approval and asked her to continue. Daisy took the cue and hesitantly reacted by fidgeting her fingers, and Edward could tell right away that she was feeling anxious about what she was about to say.

In a consoling gesture, Edward placed his thumb on Daisy's forearm while raising his hand. Daisy de-escalated and gave him a tender gaze. "I've been contemplating it for a while now." She stopped, but Edward hummed to encourage her to continue. "We were forced to work together as a group for this project, which ended today. However, I have a question for you." Daisy questioned anxiously. "You certainly can, little one." Edward's comments made Daisy grin because she is now accustomed to being called by this term. They had been sticking together for about two months, knowing one other well, each flawlessly complementing the other. "I-I have been wondering can-can we be uh friends?" Upon hearing this, Daisy immediately closed her eyes out of concern that Edward may act strangely.

She was unable to see Edward's tender and loving glance, though. As if she were the only thing in the universe, he was gazing at her. Daisy slowly raised one eye to look up at Edward, but his expression remained unmoved. Daisy then slowly broke into an excited smile and inquired, "Are we?" Edward smiled but bit his lip to keep it from showing and nodded in agreement. As soon as Edward noticed Daisy's beaming eyes, she was hugging him, utterly catching him off surprise.

He was ready to give her a hug in return when Daisy looked up and remarked, "We are now friends, yay! I knew you wouldn't reject my request. You understand that our time spent together will be too enjoyable." Daisy was talking nonstop when suddenly she changed into a scarlet tomato and backed away from Edward, saying as she looked at her feet, "I became too overwhelmed, I'm sorry."

Edward responded with a smile, "I got you, little one," and then grabbed her chin to get her to look at him. Daisy grinned as they moved toward the cafe. "Friendship celebration is it," she cheerfully said, turning around with her hair tousled by the wind.

Edward nodded with a smile, only for her to realise that he wanted more from her than just friendship.
