The Graveyard

"Are you sure?" I look at her suspiciously "are you sure you want to go in there?"

Brittany looks up at me with a grin that takes up her whole face and nods excitingly. She drags me into the cemetery and we walk among the graves. She starts walking faster ahead of me, cutting in between graves, I have a hard time keeping up with her.

"Brit, wait up, you're going too fast!"

She starts to pick up speed and is running ahead of me. I start to lose sight of her. She is running faster than normal and I'm finding it hard to keep up with her. I run faster but she is too far ahead of me as I lose her once she goes over a hill. I stop running once I get to the top.

"Brittany! Brittany! Where are you?" I look around trying to catch even a glimpse of her.

I hear giggling all around me as I start to cautiously walk around. I walk looking behind tombstones where the giggling seems louder. I continue calling out for Brittany but I get no response, the giggling gets louder with every attempt.

"Brittany, this isn't funny, come on stop this!" I yell out to a cold, empty field of tombstones.

The wind gets colder around me, pushing my hair up. Goosebumps form on my arm, and I get a tingling feeling on the back of my neck, I pull out my phone and call her. I hear the ringtone she set for me coming from in front of me. I walk towards the sound and find her phone laying on the ground behind a tombstone. I pick up her phone and look around me.

"Brittany! Where the hell are you?"

I look at the name on the tombstone and my face fills with fear. I fall backward onto my grass and crawl back looking at the name. Brittany's name is plastered on the from. I can't take my eyes off of the tombstone. I examine it some more, it doesn't have a day of death.

"What the hell?" I start to crawl forward a little. I lightly touch the tombstone brushing my fingers across her name. "This can't be real."

The giggling starts up again getting louder and louder. Every second I stand there the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I start to call out for Brittany some more, the giggling gets louder and overwhelming. I start to run towards the exit as the giggling turns to cackle. I start to get nervous as it gets louder as if it's right behind me. I turn around to see no one behind me, I turn back around to run as Brittany is standing behind me.

"There you are, what the hell was this about?"

She doesn't say a word, she just stands there and smiles at me eerily. She walks around me walking deeper into the graveyard. She stops midway up the hill and turns her head to reveal a teeth-showing smile, and blood in her mouth.

"Brittany! Where are you going? What happened to you?"

I start to run toward her trying to catch up to her. She quickly turns her head and runs over the hill. I stop running and stare up over the hill. I get chills down my spine before I can even step on the hill. I suddenly feel an icy cold hand touch the back of my neck. I quickly turn around and see Brittany standing there. I look behind me confused wondering how she got there. I turn my face back to her and she disappeared. I start to break out in a cold sweat thinking about what's going on.

"Alright, if you want to stay here and play you can do it by yourself."

I start to frantically walk toward the exit. I continue walking only to find myself back by the grave that has Brittany's name on it. I look down at the grave as this time it has a day of death, it was today's date. My heart starts beating through my chest, the palm of my hands start to sweat and my legs are starting to shake. I start to run away trying my best to find the exit. I run as fast as I can only to find myself back at Brittany's grave. This time there's an extra grave next to it. I look down and the tombstone has my name on it. I start shaking in my shoes in a panic.

"What is this? What kind of joke is this?"

I start to run in the opposite direction hoping to find the exit. I start to look around me while running, in my peripherals, I see figures in the tree line, it seems endless. I run as fast as I can, breathing heavily. My heart feels like it's about to jump through my chest.

"Jason!" I hear my name being called in a deep, dark, sinister voice.

"Jason!" The voice gets deeper and louder.

"Jason!" The voice sounds as if it was in my ear right behind me.

I continue hearing my name called from all around me. I try to run faster but my body finally gives out from all the running. I lay on the ground holding my chest as I hear footsteps in the grass, breaking sticks coming from behind me. As the steps inch closer and closer my body freezes. I can see the figure's shadow from the ground as it stops behind me and kneels.

"Jason, I've been waiting for you."

The sinister voice is now right behind me whispering in my ear. My body is frozen from the sound of the voice behind me. I feel its cold hands grabbing my arm as its warm breath hovers the back of my neck.

I quickly turn around onto my back, nothing is there and there is no one in sight. I look over to the right as I see the tombstones of Brittany and me and this time I see Brittany standing over her grave. I slowly start to stand up and walk over to her.

"Brit, we have to get out of here!"

She turns to me, her eyes are black sockets and she smiles exposing sharp teeth. I freeze in my tracks as she starts to walk over to me. I start backing away but she starts to run at me. I turn and quickly sprint but quickly collapse from being too tired after running already.

I try to stand as quickly as I can but I'm unable to stand up fast enough. Brittany quickly tackles me to the ground, turning me on my back. Brittany lets out a bloodcurdling scream directly in my face, blood from her mouth squirts all over my face. I struggle to get out of Brittany's grasp as her grips get tighter and tighter.

"What the hell are you!" I finally squirm out of her grip but she quickly catches my lets as her nails dig deep into me piercing the skin. I fall back to the floor as she climbs back onto me and starts scratching my chest. Her nails dug deeper and deeper into me, gouging a hole into my chest.

"DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE!" She yells repeatedly in a harsh raspy voice.

I finally push her off of me and sprint away. I look back as I run away as Brittany stands there screaming. I finally see the exit in front of me as I make my way to it. I stumble running downhill but quickly catch my balance and make it to the exit.

I look down at my chest as blood is streaming out of my wounds. I can barely take the stinging pain from the scratches that she left on my body. I look over into the graveyard as the smiling figure stands there waving at me and smiling.

The area around me starts to shake as images around me start to crumble. Everything starts to get blurry as a loud ringing starts in my ears. I look back up to where the smiling figure was but nothing is there anymore. The graveyard is no longer there, the figure disappears. Suddenly a door appears on top of the hill. Everything around is now a dark nothingness. With nowhere else to go I walk over to the door and open it.

Inside I can see Brittany screaming laying on the floor with the smiling figure standing over her, looking directly into my eyes. The door slams shut as it moves away creating a gap between me and the door. I run to the door as I struggle to open it. I finally get it open, as I enter the door closes behind me as I stand in a dark giant house with nothing but a door all around. I look around not knowing what could happen next. I can feel the fear creeping up my spine.

"Where the hell am I?"
