I look around frantically, quickly trying to assess my surroundings. There is nothing but darkness all around with various spots of light coming from the moonlit windows. My body is sent into shivers as the temperature around me drops.
"What is this place?"
I stare down into a dark, empty hallway. My eyes seem like they're playing tricks on me as I see darker shadows moving in the emptiness of the hallway. The hairs on the back of my neck start to stand, as I feel eyes piercing through my body.
"Is someone there?"
I can feel pressure build behind my eyes as they try to adjust to the darkness. I walk around trying to find anything that can tell me where I am. I walk over to a random door, grab the doorknob and start to twist. I push and pull to open the door but it won't budge. I turn around and start to try random doors that are around me. I walk to a center of an open hallway.
"Hello? Is anyone there?"
I start to hear whispers coming from all around me. They get louder as I stand there looking around me, trying to figure out where it's coming from. The voices suddenly stop as a deeper voice starts speaking.
"Why do you speak so loudly?"
The voice startles me as I look around, I look down into a hallway and see a door open up. A figure starts to walk out but I'm unable to make out any features. He walks closer, barely showing himself as the lower half of his body is illuminated by the moonlight shining through the windows.
"You enter my domain and yet you dare to shout?"
His voice is louder now that he's standing in front of me. I can feel his eyes burning a hole in my skin. I start walking backward trying to get away from the man standing in front of me, not taking my eyes off of him just in case.
"Are you afraid?" He suddenly starts to laugh, his laugh having so much bass I have to cover my ears.
"Wh... Who are you?"
"You walk into my domain and ask me who I am? I should be asking you that."
I try to speak but I'm unable to let a word out. I feel as though there's a frog in my throat. The pressure behind my eyes intensifies and my head starts to pound. The air starts to get thinner as I'm unable to breathe correctly.
"I must say, the fact you are standing still is quite fascinating but you're in the presence of a King."
I can see the white of his eyes with bright red pupils, I can feel the bloodlust in the air protruding from him. I stumble backward falling as I crawl backward trying to stay away from him.
"You will not move any further and you will kneel before me!"
My body starts to move on its own. I stop moving and started getting into a kneeling position. I can't take my eyes off the ground, I'm unable to move any part of my body.
"You will address me as King Bael and you will tell me what you're doing here."
He walks out of the shadows revealing his face. His face has soft masculine features with brown hair and a slight grin. Suddenly two other heads are revealed from behind. One of a cat and the other of a toad.
"King Bael?" My eyes widen as I'm filled with shock. "King Bael described from King Solomon?"
He starts to laugh through all 3 of his heads. I can feel the bass through my body as I cover my ears from the intensity of his laugh. He stops laughing abruptly and stares into my eyes.
"King Solomon, don't ever use that name in my presence again."
He starts walking over to me, I can feel the air get thinner and thinner with every step he took. My body froze and filled me with fear. I try to move but with every attempt, my body feels pain as if is being hit by a boulder.
"Now, are we going to have a decent discussion about why you're here, or am I going to kill you, I'll let you decide."
He stops in front of me looking down at me. He kneels and lifts my head, "You may speak."
"I just arrived here, I was in a graveyard and a door suddenly appeared here and when I went through I ended up here," I realized I was speaking fast out of fear, "I'm just looking for my friend."
"Despite what you may think, we "Demons" are quite fair. We aren't necessarily evil, yet people like to believe there is an actual concept between good and evil and we are the lesser half."
He stops talking and waves his finger for me to follow. My body moves on its own as I start to follow King Bael.
"You might humans think that Angels are the side of righteousness and we "Demons" are the side of despair. Angels are no better than what you make us out to be. You are pawns to Angels like Michael, Gabriel, and especially Metatron."
He walks us into a door and opens it. Inside was a table with 2 chairs adjacent to each other. He takes a seat in one and points me to take the other.
"You're probably wondering what does this have to do with you? Well let me explain, I will help you in your endeavor to find your friend and get out of here but I don't work for free."
He smiles at me and reaches out his hand.
"For my help, I would simply ask that you serve me until the day you simply perish from your mortal world."
He developed an eerie grin on his face. His eyes were gentle yet they were gut-wrenching. I was unable to speak. I didn't want to serve him but I had to save Brittany. I had no choice other than to serve him.
"Okay," barely able to even mutter the word out.
"Great! Then we have ourselves a deal, let us have a drink for this joyous occasion."
He clapped his hand and suddenly a shade appears holding two wine glasses.
"Don't be afraid, drink." He sways his hand in front of him.
I take a sip and set the cup on the table. I look at him and he has a smile to was from ear to ear. He stands up and walks around the table. He puts his hands on my shoulder. I start to feel a stinging pain in my shoulder and my head starts to hurt. Everything around me gets dizzy.
"Relax, you will feel better shortly."
He laughs as I pass out on the table. I awaken in a daze on a bed in a room. I spring up looking around me wondering where am I and how I even got there. I start to stand up but quickly fall to the floor. My body feels weak and my legs are like jelly.
"What happened to me?"
I hear footsteps coming from the other side of the door. I try to crawl to the bed to stand myself up but the door slams open banging on the wall behind it.
"Oh good, you're awake." King Bael stands in the doorway smiling. "I see you recovered fairly quickly."
I look at him confused. I continue to struggle to try to stand myself up. I am only able to sit on the bed and I look at him, watching him watching me struggle.
"Don't look at me like that, I helped you, I blessed you."
"Blessed me?"
"Yes, I blessed you. I blessed you with invisibility but you must use it wisely, you may only use it once a day," He looks at me "all you have to do to use it is simply say "invisibilitatem".
He tells me to try it out, I excitingly but cautiously say "invisibilitatem," I look down at my hands and all around my body, King Bael chuckles, "Where are you?" He walks over to me and flicks my forehead, I look at him in confusion. He stands there laughing at me.
"You think I would give you something like that?" He turns around from me laughing.
"I'll help you but I won't give you something like that."
He looks at me and tells me to follow him, The real work is about to happen.
I follow him into the hallway and down the hall into an empty room. We stand there looking at each other, he doesn't say a word to me, he just stands there smiling at me. Suddenly I can feel anger coming from him. His eyes start to fill up black, the room starts to shake a little as he takes a step closer to me. He reaches out his hand while walking toward me. I start to get scared, my body starts to freeze and I'm unable to move away from him.
"Are you ready to play a game?"
