Comfort

As Marcellus' mom got out of her car she noticed a black lamborghini in the front of her driveway. She wondered whose car that was and why they were here but, she almost had a heart attack when she saw her son get out of the really expensive car's driver seat. As Marcellus was walking over to his mom Alicia got out of the car as well.

As soon as Alicia got out of the car she felt the gaze of a predator about to pounce on her. When she looked around, she saw Marcellus' mom staring at her with narrowed eyes.

"..." Alicia stared back with the same gaze as well. Marcellus, who was on the side, noticed this as well. He could swear he saw lightning fly around the two. So, not wanting these two to attack each other he interjected awkwardly.

"..H-hey mom" awkwardly greeted Marcellus with a wave.

"Hey Marcel, who is this girl?" asked Marcellus' mom with a cold tone still looking at Alicia, completely ignoring Marcellus.

"Alice is my personal trainer, she came over to help me get in shape and work on my diet and stuff" lied Marcellus, using his enhanced thinking speed to cook up a proficient lie on the spot.

Alicia almost f*cked it up by letting out a chuckle, at what she thought was a ridiculous excuse, but managed to cover it up and introduce herself.

"Hello ma'am, my name is Alicia Alucard, I go to spring hill with Marcel" introduced Alicia with a little curtsy.

"Hello, my name is Amanda Mckinley, I hope you don't mind me, I thought you were trying to bribe Marcel to do bad things with the car" Amanda explained as she shook Alicia's hand and softly giggled.

"Anyway mom, I forgot my key, can you please open the door?" asked Marcellus while scratching the back of his head.

"Oh, sure, hold on one second" replied Amanda as she grabbed a few bags from her car. She then unlocked the door and went in. She put the bags on a table but when she turned around she noticed the two teenagers standing at the doorway.

"What are you two doing? Come in" Amanda questioned in a confused tone.

"..." Marcellus turned to Alicia and seeing her shrug, he took a step forward. As his foot passed through the door he heaved a sigh of relief and waited for Alicia to do the same. After they both made it in they went up to Marcellus' room.

"I'm making dinner, so Alicia, you're welcome to stay" offered Amanda before they got up the stairs.

"I'd love to," replied Alicia with a small chuckle.

After they got to Marcellus' room Alica plopped down on his bed and enjoyed the soft feeling.

"So, how do you feel?" Alicia asked Marcellus.

"Hungry, but it's bearable." replied Marcellus as he took out a blood bag.

Alicia seeing him do this got up and grabbed the blood bag.

"One every hour no more no less" ordered Alicia as she started drinking the blood bag.

*SIGH* "..Ok, but hey, can we actually eat human food?" questioned Marcellus as he remembered his mom talking about dinner.

"We can, but it won't do anything for our bodies, it won't even taste as good as blood" replied Alicia as she finished the blood bag.

"Anyway, enough about that, I want you to teach me something humans do for fun" ordered Alicia as she looked around Marcellus' room.

Marcellus felt like it was an odd request but still complied as he wracked his brain for something he finds fun.

"Oh, how about some video games?" asked Marcellus as his eyes flashed at that idea.

"..What's a 'video game'?" asked Alicia as she stopped looking around at the room and looked at Marcellus.

"..." Marcellus was shocked speechless!!!

"Nope, let's fix this immediately" said Marcellus as he adopted a serious expression.

He then spent the next two hours explaining to Alica how to play mortal kombat.

"Okay, I think I got it," Alicia said more to herself than to Marcellus.

"How about a bet, the loser has to do whatever the winner says one time?" asked Alicia in excitement as she gave a victorious smile to Marcellus.

"Okay, deal" accepted Marcellus, as he puffed out his chest in confidence. How could someone who only learned how to play this game two hours ago beat him, a pro? It could possibly happen, right? RIGHT?!!!!

"Winner" shouted Alicia as she did a little dance, much to Marcellus' shock.

Before he could even say something about Alicia rubbing it in, they heard his mom call them for dinner.

As they ate Alicia suddenly asked a question that startled Amanda.

"Can I please stay here for a while? asked Alicia as she put on a gentle smile.

"Why?" asked Amanda in curiosity.

"My mom died a few years ago and when she died my dad went into depression. Then he resorted to throwing himself into work and alcohol. Whenever he came home he would beat me and my little brother until he passed out. So… I ran away. Now I need a place to stay. So?" Asked Alicia again, as she put on a fake smile to hide the pain. One which Marcellus could see through completely, though Amanda seemed to miss it.

Amanda felt conflicted. On the one hand she didn't want to send away this sweet girl, who went through something similar to Marcellus. However on the other hand she couldn't afford to keep her here, she could barely afford to feed Marcellus. As she was about to decline she heard something that made her feel very guilty.

"Yes" Marcellus replied as he held a furious gaze and a cold tone. He then looked up at his mom and Alica.

"Mom, we should let her stay," said Marcellus as he radiated a feeling of anger and sadness that Amanda understood.

"Okay, she can stay" sighed Amanda as she smiled and inwardly reprimanded herself for almost turning away Alicia.

After dinner Alicia and Marcellus each took a shower and got ready for bed.

"I'm using my favor, you have to let me sleep on your bed" ordered Alicia with a smile as she crawled into Marcellus' bed.

Marcellus seeing this sight blushed immensely as his thoughts ran wild. Which prompted Alicia to grab her stomach from laughing too hard.

"Okay, I'll sleep on the couch downstairs" replied an embarrassed Marcellus as he blushed and grabbed a pillow.

As he was grabbing it though, Alicia caught his arm and stopped him.

"Nope, you sleep here too" replied Alicia. At this point, she was also blushing though it was unnoticeable.

"O-okay" replied Marcellus as he climbed into the bed next to Alica.

After a few hours of calming down, what Alicia said played in his mind again and again, causing him to forfeit the ability to sleep.

"Alicia, are you awake?" questioned Marcellus in a low audible tone.

"Yeah, what's up?" replied Alicia in the same low audible tone.

"Is what you said at dinner true or a fake story?" asked Marcellus in a serious tone, albeit he was still whispering. He then turned to face Alicia's back.

"It was a false story, the truth was a lot worse" replied Alicia with a sad voice. Marcellus noticed her shoulders tremble a little as she also turned to face him.

They both looked at each other and could notice the same expression of guilt, rage, sadness, grief and loss. They both saw the pain each kept hidden from everyone else. However, they both took comfort in the fact that they were not alone.

Marcellus then moved his arm and embraced Alicia.

"You don't have to say anything, however, I look forward to the day that the pain we both feel is gone, hahaha" Marcellus comforted her with a self-deprecating chuckle as Alicia felt his arm tremble slightly and tighten the hug.

Alicia hearing Marcellus just let herself relax as she returned his embrace as they both fell asleep with small smiles on their faces.

Authors note:

Let me know what you all think about my first attempt at writing a romance scene. I loved it even though it was difficult to write. :) Also I am finally going to get a rank from hitting 15,000 words, so I'm super excited about that.
