Chapter 4

Go A Yeong's anxiety grew with each hour that passed without hearing anything about her children. In the blink of an eye, it was the next day, although it felt like a decade to her. She had the urge to do something, but she didn't know what. She racked her brain for a few hours. Then she remembered.

"Yes! How could I forget about it.". She picked up her car key and ran out. She'll save her kids even if it means all of her nightmares will come true. She opened a recent article she saw the address in and blindly followed it.

The mansion stood there as if the surrounding nature had embraced it, and it was all concrete with tall glass windows that gave a view of the mountains, a chance to relax. However, Go A Yeong was not in the mood to admire it. She rushed to the guardhouse. "This is private property, ma'am.". "Please. I... I need help. I need to see Jeong Seo Joon.".

The guard gave her an ugly look and said, "You'd better leave now, ma'am, or else don't blame us for being rude.". Go A Yeong tapped her fingers nervously. "No, no, please. He knows me. Lux Hotel, yes. Just tell him 'five years ago' and 'Lux Hotel'. He will know.". The guard picked up the walkie-talkie, glaring at her.

A surprised look went past his face and he pressed a button. He signaled for Go A Yeong to enter as the main gate slowly opened. She threw a 'thanks' at him and ran inside. A maid was waiting at the entrance for her with a smile. "Hello, dear. Sir is inside. Come in.".

Go A Yeong returned the smile and followed her. It was scary to barge into, one of the scariest men' house, according to the article she read, but she was desperate, and she hoped that he would understand the situation she was in.

The interiors were squeaky clean, and everything screamed luxury and elegance, but the atmosphere lacked colors. No matter how hard one looked, one could only see black, grey, and dark blue. There was a gloomy vibe despite the warm nature of the servants.

Then she saw him, casually sitting on a wing chair, with one hand holding the iPad and another one supporting his head. He was wearing a black t-shirt and grey trousers. The photos in the media did him no justice. He was practically shining just by doing nothing, and that too in his normal attire.

When a pair of green eyes looked up at Go A Yeong, she shivered. The exact same pairs she sees every other day. She couldn't guess his mood from the poker face he had on. Will he help her? He will, right? They were his children too. Yeah. The children, she hid from him for five years. The children he doesn't even know about. Great. She's screwed.

"I... I want to as... ask for a..." she swallowed a lump and glanced at him, expecting him to be irritated at her. But she was surprised to his unchanging poker face.

Go A Yeong exhaled deeply and began again. "I need a favor from you.". "What will I get in return?". That was the only question he asked. Wait? That's it? Does he even know what she was going to ask him?

"Anything.". Jeong Se Joon smirked. "Anything? Then marry me.". Go A Yeong was expecting him to say he was kidding, but he didn't. He was dead serious. "What?". He placed the iPad on the coffee table beside him. "Why? You don't want to? Then you can leave," saying that he waved his hand, dismissing her.
