Getting through the blizzard part 1

"You know I didn't expect a blizzard to be this hard to pass through"-Jack

It was now coming toward the end of the second month and many attempts had been made against the mighty blizzard.

However many failed but lucky for every 3 tries at least one thing was learned or changed to give them a better chance.

But nothing comes for free and 2 rixis died in the process with one getting his foot stuck in the ground while he was walking and stepping on a snow-covered hole.

The other rixis was a female who disagreed with another female about claiming a mate in their group so they battled in the blizzard at the worst time possible.

This made Jack mad since he now had another dead rixis and an injured rixis with a cold so he sent the living female off in shame and brought a new team on.

Overall besides the group of 5 who would go into the blizzard, there were now around 30 rixis helping out from resources and more.

It was now a full-on operation with the help of many different rixis from all over and the many different tribes.

Once they had ironed out the creases things started to move on with the main defenses against the blizzard and to protect the rixis were these:

•layered clothing

•Imporoved torches and fire

•igloos

•rope system

•extra rations of high-energy food and drink

•group heat and help

These were all things the Jackrixis could use to fight and survive against the blizzard and would hopefully make it Through and make their gods proud.

Over 1 week the 30-strong group helped slowly build 5 igloos each every 500 meters we're compact and strong while also leaving some supplies in them.

The 5 explorers weren't doing this but we're eating plenty and training to do the best they possibly could so they wanted to be at their peak.

Another week went by as the rixis and the gods watched over to make sure nothing jumped out at the rixis and interrupted the mission.

Another week went by and it was game time so the group of rixis went back and waited for the results but also wanted to be prepared for anything to come through the blizzard.

Before the 5 rixis went through they stood before the rixis with the blizzard not far behind them as the leader of the group gave a basic speech.

The leader stood forward and spoke to his fellow brothers and sisters who without them wouldn't have been possible.

"We... Fight... For... Gods... And... For... You... We... Will... Conquer!"-Leader rixis

The group roared and passion and pride as they felt a wave of confidence and pride come from within them as they took on this challenge.

Once the cheers and joy died down they all got ready and stared at the raging blizzard in front of them as they held on to their wooden spears and rations.

"Go!"-Leader rixis

The rixis moved as the 4 followed the leader in the front the snow crunched under their clawed feet as they moved forward one step at a time.

The tracks they left behind were quickly covered up by the snow and wind as those watching them lost sight of their forms as they were consumed by the blizzard.

There wasn't much more they could do so they all went back to preparing for whatever would come out be it their kind or what killed them.

As for the group in the blizzard, all they could see was the rope connecting them and the rixis in front of them as they tried to stay near each other.

The snow and wind battered their bodies as they tried to make it to the 1st igloo and get inside which would be their strategy.

They would get to an igloo as fast as possible and stay for an hour then would move on to the next one and so on until they reach the last.

The frost was already getting to them but they didn't want to use their torches yet and wanted to save them for after the 5th and final igloo.

Once they saw the first igloo just large enough to fit all five of them to squeeze in and could feel the cold chains of the blizzard release slightly whilst inside.

They stayed for an hour as respected eating the rations in the igloo as they chomped down on the variety of fruits and nuts and other foods.

They kept quiet not wanting to waste their breaths on speaking which would take away energy they would need either on.

Once they were all prepared they got out of the igloo carefully to make sure it wouldn't break and went on to the next slowly moving on.

It was on the way to the second that they started to hear faint noises of animals and creatures far away with some howling while others scream while dying.

This was the other problem they would have to face further which was in countering the beasts that also tried to get to whatever was past the blizzard.

Luckily they wouldn't have much trouble until the 3rd igloo so they were calm even if there were the sounds of beasts being ripped apart.

The wind continued not caring about the plights of those fighting against it as the rixis slowly made their way towards the 2nd igloo.

Once again they stayed in the igloo and ate their rations while the monster battled outside of their reach but they knew it would soon be closer than they would like.

Far away from the rixis on a leather couch were jack and Minerva watching the rixis as they made it to the 2nd igloo.

"Well they've made it to the next igloo which is good in the best case they don't get attacked at all but what's the chance that won't happen?"-Jack

"Well I have the answer but I won't bore you so yes it is going well I still wonder however what is inside this strange blizzard?"-Minerva
