I woke up early so I can make it onto the train on time.
I brush my teeth before putting it in my bag. I go into the bathroom and pack the mini shampoo and conditioner. I also take a towel and rag so I won't have to buy one in New York. I mean who doesn't?
Grabbing all my things I walk to the front desk and check out. I really didn't want to walk to the train station with my bags because they were really heavy and it takes 15 minutes to get there.
I start making my way towards the when the train station when the woman at the front desk calls out for me.
"Hey young lady?" She called.
"Yes?" I ask politely.
" Do you need a ride to the train station?" She asks. I look at her confused.
"How do you know I'm heading to the train station?" I ask back instead of answering.
"This is a small town. Word spreads fast when someone stays more than a day." She said smiling.
" I don't want to trouble you. I can just walk the rest of the way. Plus you have to take care of your motel." I say, but I really did want a ride. My arms are already hurting.
"It's fine. I can ask my son to take you." She said.
"It's okay it's already too early in the morning. I wouldn't want to bother you." I said, but she put her hand up to stop me.
" You're not bothering us at all. Now put your stuff in the truck outside and my son will take you in a few minutes." She said and I nodded my head not arguing with her.
I walk to the truck that's outside and put my bags in the back. I waited outside the car for the son to come out.
When I saw a dude come out that looked like the woman come out I quickly stuck out my hand.
"Hi, I'm the girl your mom wanted you to take to the train station." I said shaking his hand.
"Okay." he said, and might I add that he was a fine piece of meat.
"Sorry to trouble you." I say nervously.
"It's no trouble at all." He said chuckling.
We get in the car and head to the train station.
The first few minutes of the car ride was uncomfortable, but it was bearable, and he seemed nice enough.
I would look over at him every now and then and he would catch me looking at him.
He looked a little bit older than me, and he had some facial hair. To me it just made him look even better.
" Am I that handsome gorgeous?" He asked. I looked away quickly embarrassed.
"Shy now are we?" He said laughing.
"N..no I just like looking at you." I reply stupidly. I just want to hide into my seat.
" So you still think I'm attractive?" He said smirking.
I just stayed quiet looking in front of me before I say something even more stupid.
"Now we're not talking?" he said, but I still didn't say anything. " It's okay. Do you mind if I ask you a personal question?" He asked. I just nodded.
" Are you running away or something? My mom told me you looked a little rough when you walked in." He said keeping his eyes on the road.
"No, my dad actually sent me off I just didn't have anywhere to go the night before I came so I slept outside." I said sighing.
"Are you serious? Why didn't your dad drop you off somewhere?" He asked.
"I don't want to say, but there is a reason for that. Anyway I still had what I needed though, so I was good." I said.
" If you say so." He answered. " Can I ask you a one more personal question?" He asked.
"Sure." I said back.
"Why did you agree to leave?" He asked pulling up to the train station. Should I even tell him? I guess no bad would come out of it. I need to get it off my chest anyway.
" I got pregnant, and I didn't want the father to know because I didn't want him to hurt my baby like he hurt me." I say.
" So you stayed outside for a night when you were pregnant just because of that? Was he beating on you that bad for you to leave like that?" He asked turning to me.
" No, no he didn't put his hands on me, but he let his other friends do it when we were younger. He was my childhood friend, but one night when I ran into him and his other friends he started to be mean and different out of nowhere. Then he left them to beat me up. I was left there to die, but someone found me just in time." I say.
" So how did you get pregnant if you guys weren't friends anymore?" He asked curiously.
" I guess we slowly started to talk to each other for a while then we had that moment where we couldn't help ourselves I guess." I say.
"Anyways thank you for your help." I said getting out the car.
I get my bags from out the back and start put them on the ground.
"Well can I get your number. I might come and visit you sometime," he says waiting for me to say my name.
"Carter. My name is Carter and yes you can get my number." I say. When I read the name on my fake identity card my name was Carter Dean.
I gave him my phone and he gave me his. I typed in my number and my name and gave him his phone back. I take my phone back and look at his contact. His name was Àxel.
" Well Àxel I have to get going. I'll see you in the future I guess." I say picking up my bags. I look at him one more time and walk off and into the train station. Now that is a nice piece of chocolate right there. Too bad my baby doesn't like it.
I show them my ticket and they let me in the area where the train I'll be on will be arriving.
Since I arrived an hour early I started to text my dad.
Me: Hey dad. I'm leaving the state today.
Dad: Okay be safe. How is my little munchkin?
Me: Your little munchkin is fine and so is her baby. For some reason the baby doesn't like chocolate as much as I do.
Dad: I guess that is to be expected. Where are you going?
Me: I'm leaving for New York. I thought that since it has a lot more people than it'll be harder to find me.
Dad: That's good, but are you sure? It's really dangerous there.
Me: I'm sure dad. I'll be careful.
Dad: Where are you going to live?
Me: I was going to look up a place when I got on the train.
Dad: Speaking of an apartment. I made you a new bank account. The password is 6849. I put enough money on there for you to rent an apartment for about 6 months.
Me: Okay.
Dad: If you need anything don't worry and call me okay?
Me: Roger that.
Dad: And be careful. Don't forget to wear your wig at all times. Don't take it off unless your home.
Me: I almost forgot to put it on. Thanks dad.
Dad: What would you do without me. I'm worried for you.
Me: Don't worry. I can take care of myself.
Me: By the way how is Jordan?
Dad: He freaked out when he learned you left. It took a while for him to calm down.
Me: Is he alright?
Dad: He should be fine. Don't forget to sign up for a new school. I want you to finish high school.
Me: Okay, but I don't want to be bothered with when people find out I'm pregnant.
Dad: I don't care. You have to finish. And I'm not asking you.
Me: Alright. I have to go. I got to put on my wig. I'll text you when I make it. 😘
Dad: Okay. And don't forget to text Cability. He's been waiting to talk to you.
Me: Alright.
I put my phone in my bags and went to the bathroom.
I got the wig from my bags and put it on.
It looked weird but I guess it'll do. I'll just buy some more of my style when I get there.
I got my bags and waited for the train to come.
