Chapter 70 Great Demon King Stephen (Rewritten)

Chapter 70 Let's join forces, join forces against the Great Demon King Stephen

The atmosphere at the scene became quite fascinating, to say the least.

It was supposed to be the scene where Diana and Donna Troy were fighting Ares, turning the tide of the battle or being taught by Ares. However, Stephen's sudden appearance left both sides a little confused. First, he defeated Ares, and now he wanted to fight Donna Troy. Whose side was he on?

"No one knows what he wants to do... Be careful. I'll try to deal with Ares as quickly as possible and then help you," Diana hesitantly reminded Donna Troy. She glanced at Ares. Even though she had just joined forces with Donna Troy, who wasn't an enemy of Ares, she now had to defeat him as soon as possible!

With a powerful kick from her long legs, Diana rushed towards Ares.

Ares, bewildered by the unexpected turn of events, grew even more enraged upon hearing Diana's boast about defeating him quickly. The two engaged in a direct fight. It was unclear whether Ares' weakened state was due to his incomplete recovery or if Diana's anger had been triggered by Stephen's presence. Regardless, their exchanges were completely different from before, even though they were not evenly matched.

Donna Troy watched in a state of mild disbelief.

"Hey, new girl."

Slender fingers swayed in front of her eyes, startling Donna Troy, who instinctively took a step back. She realized that Stephen had already approached her.

He didn't seem to just want to fight.

"What's your name?" Stephen smiled as he looked at Donna Troy. Judging from her appearance, she should be around sixteen or seventeen years old. She was shorter than Diana and had a similar armor style, but Donna Troy had black hair.

This black hair not only distinguished her from Diana but also confirmed her identity.

If Stephen remembered correctly, there were two generations of Wonder Girl: Donna Troy and Cassie Sandsmark. Cassie was Diana's niece. During the time when Donna Troy changed her name from Wonder Girl to Dark Star, Cassie, who admired Donna Troy, bought her own set of equipment and joined the Teen Titans under the name of the second-generation Wonder Girl.

But Cassie was blonde, so...

"Donna Troy!" Donna Troy hesitated.

"Ah, it is you!" Stephen's smile deepened, and he asked warmly, "Come on, tell me where you're from. Why haven't I seen you on Paradise Island before?"

Kindness can be a powerful weapon, especially after Stephen had just defeated Ares. Donna Troy hesitated only momentarily before answering, "I was training in the outside world before. I was brought to Paradise Island only after you and Princess Diana left six months ago."

"Six months ago? I may not have paid much attention to the time while traveling," Stephen replied, noting that their ages were the same, but their experiences had diverged for several months. For Donna Troy and the people on Paradise Island, it had been more than half a year since they last saw each other.

"Then, do you know about your life history?" Stephen was curious about Donna Troy's origins.

Donna Troy paused and asked, "What's wrong with my life history? Queen Hippolyta said I was an orphan. She saved me from a fire. Because she was concerned about any potential issues on Paradise Island, she fostered me outside and nurtured my abilities since childhood. When I grew up, she brought me back to Paradise Island."

"An orphan?" Stephen smirked and suddenly punched her.

Caught off guard, Donna Troy was struck in the abdomen and doubled over, kneeling on the ground.

"Donna Troy!" Diana, who had been keeping an eye on the situation, shouted urgently when she saw what happened, but her distraction allowed Ares to strike her, knocking her aside.

Donna Troy struggled to stand up and clenched her fists, seething with anger. She attempted to punch Stephen, but he easily evaded her attack, using his powers to copy her abilities in the process.

"As expected, she possesses the same divine power and abilities as Diana, but weaker," Stephen chuckled as he caught her fist once again and twisted her arm behind her back. He pressed her down on the ground and took out the Lasso of Truth to bind her. With her hands restrained, Donna Troy couldn't resist and could only lie helplessly on the ground.

"This thing is really handy!" Stephen grinned as he sat on Donna Troy's back and inquired about the characteristics of her equipment.

The lasso compels anyone caught in its grasp to act according to the wielder's commands unless their willpower surpasses hers. The bracers provide protection against ordinary bullets, missiles, and laser attacks. Her uniform, as explained by Hippolyta, was bestowed upon her by the Old Gods. As for the shield, it was just a regular Amazonian item, and there was also a combat stick left behind since it was inconvenient to carry.

Donna Troy couldn't have been an ordinary human orphan.

In her life, Hippolyta certainly hadn't told her the truth. She wouldn't have chosen an ordinary human to replace Diana in dealing with Ares. Although anyone bound by the Lasso of Truth must speak the truth, it was impossible for Donna Troy to know things she was never told. So, the next time she went to Paradise Island and saw Hippolyta, she could inquire more directly.

Stephen felt a twinge of regret as he continued chatting with Donna Troy.

"Ten minutes!"

"I'll give you another ten minutes!"

After conversing for a while, Stephen suddenly yelled in a somewhat bored manner.

"Diana, if you can't defeat Ares within ten minutes, I will let you witness this girl, who came to fulfill your mission, be killed by her own sword first, and then by your sword. Does that sound frightening enough?" Stephen paused and lowered his head to ask Donna Troy.

"Terrifying, definitely terrifying..." Donna Troy expressed her true thoughts, despite her reluctance.

Diana turned to Stephen in anger.

"And Ares, if she is still alive after those ten minutes, I will personally crush your wretched head with my bare hands!"

Ares glared at Stephen with a displeased expression.

"Don't doubt what I've said. In my world, there are only two types of people: those who interest me and those who don't."

Diana directed her anger toward Ares, not Stephen. She knew that Stephen would follow through with his words. She also knew that her chances of defeating Stephen to save Donna Troy were slim, so she had to focus on defeating Ares.

This wasn't just about the mission; it was about saving a life.

"Do you see? He's the real villain because he doesn't care at all. Sister, let's join forces and defeat him, and then we can determine the winner!" Ares, the god of war, proposed an alliance to Diana, his offer carrying a hint of sincerity.

Joining forces to fight Stephen, a stronger and more terrifying adversary!
