Chapter 107 Reverse Flash Debuts
A new day has dawned. The weather is slightly hazy, with the sun hidden behind dark clouds 🌥️.
Barry Allen stepped out of his house, preparing to make his way to the police station first. If nothing urgent occurred, he planned to head to S.T.A.R. Labs to further enhance his abilities. After a period of intensive training, his current speed had more than doubled since he first gained his powers. Even if he were to encounter Stephen again, he felt confident that he wouldn't be taunted.
Upon reaching the police station, Barry Allen noticed that something seemed amiss; everyone appeared to be quite busy.
"Barry."
Joe West approached from a distance and called out to Barry. "You arrived at the right time. We need you now."
"Where and what's the case?" Barry Allen inquired simply.
Joe West shook his head. "What I need is your speed."
Barry Allen immediately understood that he was being referred to as The Flash. He glanced around discreetly and whispered, "Metahumans?"
"More than one," Joe West solemnly stated. "They've been involved in a series of crimes. First, they broke a prisoner out of jail, then they killed all the key members of the Darbinyan crime family and a judge. We've just received information that their next target might be Simon Stagg!"
"You mean the Simon Stagg who received the Achievement Award for organ cloning technology? Joe, how do you know they are Metahumans?" Barry Allen asked suspiciously.
"It's not just me. I'm afraid many citizens know by now because they're not concealing their abilities at all," Joe West reassured Barry Allen, patting him on the shoulder. "I don't want you to take unnecessary risks, but right now... we can only rely on you."
"I understand!" Barry Allen nodded gravely and disappeared in an instant.
At S.T.A.R. Labs, Barry Allen arrived to find Harrison Wells, Cisco Ramon, and Caitlin Snow already engrossed in their work, investigating the identities of the four individuals involved. Cisco Ramon proceeded to update Barry Allen on the current situation and the findings of their investigation. It was evident that these four individuals had deliberately joined forces for revenge.
"Is there any connection between them? It seems too coincidental that they all know each other and possess abilities," Barry Allen exclaimed in surprise upon hearing the details.
Cisco Ramon sighed bitterly. "You're not going to like this. These four had no prior connections, but they do share one common factor. From Multiplex to the teleportation girl, they were all captured by the same person, even though he couldn't be seen. But I think you'll recognize him."
The captured photos of the four individuals appeared on the screen, each photo marked with a red trace.
"Stephen!"
Barry Allen instantly recognized him.
"Yes, it's him. He's been unusually quiet during this period. I suspect he was planning all of this. Although it seems like the four of them are seeking revenge for their own reasons, if there's truly a connection to Stephen, it won't be that simple," Cisco Ramon paused and continued. "Caitlin attempted to contact Stephen but failed, so..."
"That's why I suggest you don't get involved. Barry, even though you're much faster now, you lack experience. You can't handle four Metahumans simultaneously, especially considering the unique abilities each of them possesses," Harrison Wells, seated in a wheelchair, advised in a serious tone.
Barry Allen realized that he wasn't yet ready to face these four opponents.
"But you know I can't just stand idly by, and I believe you'll help me defeat them," Barry Allen declared as he swiftly changed into The Flash's red battle suit.
"Barry, Barry..." Harrison Wells attempted to persuade Barry Allen to leave S.T.A.R. Labs.
"Damn it!"
Harrison Wells couldn't help but curse in frustration.
"Will die!
Now Barry Allen will die when facing four Metahumans at the same time, and all his carefully laid plans will be ruined when he perishes! He clearly informed the Bird of Prey team, so why didn't they cause trouble for Stephen? Those Women, so unreliable!" Harrison Wells secretly cursed, as the others assisted Barry in dealing with the enemies.
"Indeed, they're here," The Flash remarked as he arrived at Simon Stagg's company, where the team of four had been waiting for some time.
Multiplex immediately generated countless duplicates, making it impossible to navigate through the surrounding chaos. Girder tempered himself and threw a powerful punch towards The Flash. Mist transformed into a gaseous form and ascended to the upper levels of the company where Simon Stagg was located. As for the teleporting girl, she remained still for the time being.
Blinded!
The Flash was suddenly blinded upon arrival, witnessing Girder's punch coming straight at him.
Boom!
His wrist was instantly injured.
Girder looked triumphantly at The Flash and prepared to strike again. The Flash could only evade, but with the numerous Multiplex duplicates blocking the surroundings, he had limited space to move. After struggling to navigate through several floors, he was about to escape the immediate vicinity when the teleporting girl intercepted him with a kick, sending The Flash reeling backward.
The Flash managed to overpower several Multiplex duplicates but became entangled in the process. Punches and kicks from the duplicates came relentlessly, like a relentless onslaught of wolves.
It was no easy feat.
Finally breaking free, Barry Allen faced Girder's steel fist head-on.
Boom!
He was struck down with a punch.
The Flash fell unconscious with a stifled groan.
"Is... is it over?" Girder sneered. "I thought it would be more powerful. Well, off to hell with you."
Girder clenched his fist and struck The Flash, who was already unconscious.
Huh!
A flash of red lightning swiftly emanated from the doorway, and before Girder could react, he received a punch to the face. The impact sent Girder flying instantly, and simultaneously, his body reverted from its tempered state.
Puff!
He crashed heavily onto the ground, and a person wearing a yellow battle suit, his face concealed, quickly extended his arm and pierced Girder's heart.
Girder twitched a few times before ceasing to move.
Girder was dead!
This turn of events left Multiplex and the teleporting girl stunned. They gazed at the speedster in the yellow battle suit, visibly perplexed. Wasn't he the one who captured them? Who is he?
Snapped! Snapped! Snapped!
Applause could be heard from a distance as Stephen smiled. "Ah, it's truly the Reverse Flash. Taking down a character like Girder was effortless. But I'm curious, why did you come here? The distance, at your current speed, you shouldn't be able to be in two places at once, right? So, in order to save Barry, did you hesitate to expose your identity after all these years?"
