Chapter 111 Speed Force Absorbed
"Wow."
Stephen donned a steel battle suit and soared into the air to conduct tests on various functions, limitations, average data, and more.
After approximately five minutes, Stephen returned to the studio.
"How did it go?" Laurie asked curiously.
"Just as I calculated, the battle suit performs flawlessly and can be used normally. However, the energy consumption is too rapid, so I need to make improvements," Stephen replied, using his superpower to circle around the steel battle suit. Then, he got up and re-entered the steel battle suit after a while. From the outside, there was no visible difference from before, but several charging devices were now installed inside, enabling direct electric charging.
Discharging is a trivial matter; it can be fully charged within minutes.
Although this method is only useful for him or someone with similar abilities, Stephen had already figured out a solution.
He can create a small energy matrix using the Disciple's energy, with the only missing component being a container capable of withstanding this energy. Stephen remembered that the Mercury Lab, second only to the cutting-edge Star Lab, possessed such a container.
Tachyon particles.
In the American TV series, the Reverse Flash snatched this item, resulting in a scene where he fought against himself, Reverse Flash fought Dr. Harrison Wells!
Since the Reverse Flash needs it, he must not be able to obtain it.
Whoosh!
The steel battle suit once again flew out of the garage. This time, there was no need for any testing; Stephen simply reveled in the satisfaction that the battle suit brought him.
Although the speed of the steel battle suit was nowhere near as fast as his superspeed, being on the ground and in the sky offered completely different sensations, at least in terms of the field of vision.
"Huh? Is that... The Flash?" Stephen, flying through the air, suddenly noticed a yellow lightning streaking below. "Has he discovered me? Given S.T.A.R. Labs' reaction time, it's normal to be detected. Wait, he's not chasing me. Where is he going? Is there something interesting happening?"
Stephen changed his direction and quickly caught up.
During this period of time, despite The Flash facing many challenges and being in constant danger, his speed had increased significantly. The initial version of the steel battle suit simply couldn't catch up. However, locating his position was quite easy.
A few minutes later, Stephen slowly descended while wearing the steel battle suit, and he saw The Flash standing on the street below, stopping a woman who appeared to be saying something.
"Bette, Bette Sans Souci. Don't go, listen to me. I'm here to help you," The Flash said hurriedly, halting her.
However, she clearly had no intention of obeying and turned around to run.
The Flash shook his head helplessly. "Does it have to be this way?"
In an instant, he appeared in front of Bette again. Bette was stunned and raised her hand, striking the lightning symbol on The Flash's uniform.
"Quick, Take it off!" Bette quickly warned and turned to leave.
The Flash glanced at Bette and then looked at the lightning symbol in his hero outfit, which emitted an eerie light, he threw this outfit before helplessly running in the opposite direction. Almost immediately after he had left, a loud bang followed.
Explosion.
Smoke filled the air as the hero uniform was blown to pieces.
Barry Allen squatted on the ground, wearing shorts, feeling a mix of joy and annoyance. As he turned around to look at Bette, his attention was caught by a red-gold metal armor descending from the sky to intercept Bette.
"Are you with him?" Bette asked in a low voice, eyeing the armor cautiously.
"Him?" Stephen chuckled as they watched him slowly emerge from the battle suit behind Bette.
"Stephen!" Barry Allen shouted in surprise from a distance. Why did he have such armor? No, why was he here? Was it also for Bette? What did he intend to do? Barry Allen instinctively rushed over to stop Stephen.
Stephen's lips curled up as an electric light struck Barry Allen, who was charging toward him. Barry Allen suddenly groaned, halted in his tracks, and felt as if something was being drained from his body.
The electric light, once azure blue, gradually turned yellow as it flowed from Barry Allen's body and into Stephen's. Bette hesitated for a moment on the side, then lowered her head to pick up a stone. The stone gradually glowed in her hand as she threw it towards Stephen.
Snapped!
Stephen reached out to catch it, and in the next moment, there was a loud bang.
The stone had transformed into a bomb and exploded directly.
"Patter!"
Barry Allen weakly sat on the ground, his gaze filled with horror as he looked at Stephen.
The smoke gradually dispersed.
Stephen remained in the same position as before. Although the palm of his hand that caught the stone had just experienced the explosion, it appeared to be unharmed.
Bette was dumbfounded.
"You... How?."
She had the ability to turn anything she touched into explosives. As a former bomb disposal expert in the military, bravery and courage were essential qualities for her. Instinctively, when she saw that Stephen was unscathed, she felt the need to find more "weapons."
"Bette, don't!"
"He's dangerous."
Seeing Bette's actions, Barry Allen hurriedly warned her to stop.
Bette hesitated, glancing between Barry Allen and Stephen. "I don't know who you are or what your intentions are, but it's better not to trouble me."
She had assisted The Flash because she knew he wasn't a bad person, whereas Stephen had just appeared dangerous to her.
"Bette, don't go. I can help..." Barry Allen subconsciously tried to stop Bette but halted after a few steps. "My... my speed... It's gone?"
"You just absorbed my speed?" Barry Allen looked at Stephen in disbelief.
"You'll need to start from scratch." Stephen said to Barry Allen, then turned his gaze to Bette. "Plastique or Bombgirl, which one do you prefer to be called? I absorbed the super speed from him and caused him to lose it, so..."
"So, you might also be able to absorb energy from me... my abilities? So I don't have to worry about touching anything that might explode?" Bette paused, excitement evident in her eyes as she looked at Stephen.
"You catch on quickly," Stephen smiled lightly. "So now the issue isn't that I'm causing trouble for you, but rather that you need to ask me for help, right? After all, your abilities stem not from what the military did to you, but from the particle accelerator explosion. It seems I can assist you in returning to normal."
