"No, don't agree with him, Bette. You don't know what he did to Central City or what he will do to you. He is very dangerous, extremely dangerous." Barry Allen hurriedly tried to persuade Bette, disregarding the speed of his speech. "The particle accelerator explosion is what changed both you and me. "Find me again when you're ready," Stephen waved her off, and Bette hesitated before turning and leaving.
Encountering Bette was merely a coincidence for Stephen. He intervened when he saw The Flash attempting to capture her. Whether or not Bette could fulfill the task didn't concern him. If she succeeded, it would be interesting to witness her abilities. Stephen didn't mind lending her a hand. While possessing such an ability might be a nightmare for Bette, it brought pleasure to Stephen.
He could control explosions through superposition, and he also discovered that by continuing to superimpose, he could change explosives from instantaneous detonations to remote-controlled or timed explosions. It was fascinating. This undefendable ability could be used to deceive people.
