Chapter 123 Identity Crisis
Star City is in turmoil due to the abduction of Thea Queen, but Central City is even more chaotic than Star City.
After the disappearance of The Flash, the formidable trio of meta humans, who were already difficult to handle, became more reckless, and Joe West was forced to go into hiding.
Following Barry Allen's failed attempt to trap him, Caitlin Snow was taken away, and her whereabouts are unknown. The Green Arrow had to return to Star City to protect his family, but despite his efforts, his sister was still kidnapped by Stephen.
Harrison Wells and Cisco Ramon worked tirelessly to restore Barry Allen's speed, but progress was slow. As they witnessed criminals rampaging through the city and heard the desperate cries of people asking help from The Flash, Barry Allen was overwhelmed with self-blame and now regrets the decision he made earlier.
The red lightning raced through Central City as Stephen brought Thea and Original Dr. Harrison Wells back to the villa.
"Um, is this your home?" Thea Queen steadied herself and looked at the villa.
"Laurie," Stephen called out and saw Laurie emerging from within.
"Prepare a room for her; she will stay here temporarily," Stephen ordered.
Laurie nodded and gestured for Thea Queen to follow, who hesitated but eventually complied and try to engaged in a conversation with Laurie.
In the disciple ship prison area.
Caitlin Snow saw Stephen enter, carrying a body bag, and was momentarily stunned as she rose from her seat. Nervously, she asked, disregarding her own undressed state, "Who... who is this?"
"Harrison Wells," Stephen replied, placing the body bag down.
"Dr. Wells? You... You killed Dr. Wells? Why? Why do you believe he is the Reverse Flash?" Caitlin Snow asked Stephen, her shock evident.
"Why do you think he isn't?" Stephen opened the body bag, turning it to face the other side.
Caitlin Snow stared at the lifeless corpse. "What... what is happening?"
"This is Dr. Harrison Wells, the real Dr. Harrison Wells. Fifteen years ago, he was involved in a car accident with his wife in Star City. She was killed, and he subsequently left Star City and came to Central City to establish S.T.A.R. Labs, that was the imposter portrayed. This body belongs to the real Harrison Wells. If you examine it, you'll discover the truth. that he is real. Now comes the, then..."
"Then who is the Dr. Harrison Wells we know?" Caitlin Snow murmured, confused.
She didn't believe that Dr. Harrison Wells could be the Reverse Flash, but now, with Stephen presenting the body as evidence, she couldn't help but hesitate. Stephen opened the cell, released Caitlin Snow, and handed her a dress.
"Put this on, then follow me." Caitlin Snow dressed herself, and Stephen led her and the body bag out of the prison area and into the experimental section of the Disciple.
"Is this... a spaceship?" Caitlin Snow was brought in flash speed by Stephen directly, so she had no idea where she had been locked up in spaceship.
"The Disciple, a spaceship capable of time travel," Stephen said, smiling faintly. "Speaking of the Disciple, I suddenly remembered that there are still two enemies we haven't been dealt with. Let's take advantage of the time we have."
Stephen had not forgotten the previous attack on the Disciple.
The Time Masters and vandal savage, he was unsure if the Legend team had resolved his issues or not. If they hadn't, he would simply go there and erase them from the face of the earth. But he wasn't the type of person who would immediately kill an enemy, but also he wasn't magnanimous enough to let go of the blame. So when would the enemy die? It will all depended on his mood!
"This... this is the time ship?" Caitlin Snow asked in surprise. "So, that's why you know so many things we don't?"
"You could say that," Stephen replied lazily. "But let's focus on the task at hand."
"Oh," Caitlin Snow responded. She first checked the equipment and familiarized herself with it briefly. Then, in a complex emotional state, she examined the identity of the corpse.
After half an hour, the results came out.
"Aren't you going to take a look?" Stephen pushed Caitlin Snow towards the screen and lifted her chin.
"Why, how could this be..." Caitlin Snow's face turned extremely ugly. She turned to look at Stephen. "I'm sorry... I didn't trusted you and even misunderstood you!"
"It doesn't matter if you misunderstood. This is just a game between me and the Reverse Flash," Stephen shrugged indifferently.
"Truly, I am sincerely sorry. If the trap had succeeded, it would not only harm you, but also... allow him to succeed," Caitlin Snow blamed herself and regretted her actions. She never expected that the revered Dr. Harrison Wells turned out to be a fake. "I must tell Cisco and Barry right away."
"Oh, I'll accompany you," Stephen offered.
"I would love to see how the Reverse Flash will react."
Caitlin gathered the body, and Stephen took Caitlin Snow and the body bag to S.T.A.R. Labs.
As soon as they arrived at the laboratory, they saw a rapid flashing of yellow light.
Barry Allen had regained his speed.
"It's you!" Barry Allen stopped, and Cisco Ramon and Harrison Wells looked at them nervously.
They had just devised a plan to shock Barry Allen with a powerful electric current in order to reactivate the power within his cells. It was risky, but luckily, it had succeeded. However, Stephen arrived right after their success. It was strange that they were nervous.
"Caitlin, are you okay?" Cisco asked anxiously.
Caitlin glanced at Stephen and nodded her head. "I'm fine. He didn't do anything to me."
"That's good!" Cisco Raymond breathed a sigh of relief.
"Wait..." Stephen suddenly spoke up. "Doesn't this interaction sound familiar? Ah! It was same like your dialogue was the last time I kidnapped you."
"It does seem that way," Caitlin Snow nodded after reflecting on it.
"What do you want?" Harrison Wells stared at Stephen from his wheelchair.
"It's too late for you to kneel down and beg me, even though I don't want to see a grown man begging In front of me!" Stephen squinted at Harrison Wells.
"This corpse is the one you handled fifteen years ago. You should know what I'm talking about. Once the results are out, your true identity can't be hidden. You'll not only have to leave S.T.A.R. Labs to protect yourself but also be pursued by Barry. Although he may not be able to catch up to you, but you can't truly kill him either. Your situation... I don't need to say more, right?"
"Seize the last chance. I don't want the game to end so early."
