Chapter 138 Velocity 9

Chapter 138 Velocity 9

The Rainbow Raider would have clashed with The Flash in the original plot, causing him to lose his composure and dash off to teach Iris' boyfriend him a lesson and also had a skirmish with Green Arrow.

If it weren't for Reverse Flash, they wouldn't have figured out how to bring Barry back to his normal state. But now, concerned is that now he is dead, if Barry had gone to apprehend him then he might cause more irreversible damage.

This illustrates how potent Rainbow Raider's abilities are, to some extent. Just imagine, if a group of super-powered individuals came to caused trouble for him, but at the end they'd end up fighting each other as soon as they laid eyes on him. This kind of ability is even more terrifying than being able to predict who's expecting a baby!

Unfortunately, he crossed paths with Stephen.

Unlike Barry Allen, who encounters criminals and strives to incapacitate rather than kill them, Stephen doesn't hesitate due to his familiarity with his own ability.

So, Rainbow Raider met his end without uttering more than a second sentence.

Upon Barry Allen's return to the lab to investigate the outcome, Stephen had already departed wearing freshly painted battle armor.

"He didn't have to kill him!" Barry Allen eventually said quietly.

Cisco shrugged. "Though I share the sentiment, we must admit his efficiency is astonishingly quick. Five minutes? Actually, he might solve it in two minutes."

Barry Allen was left speechless.

After all, from the beginning to the end of each episode, he'd find the enemy only to resolve the threat at the last moment!

Stephen descended from the sky wearing the new battle suit, inciting astonishment from Laurie and Thea. This was especially true when the battle suit transformed into a bracelet automatically. Laurie fell silent, but Thea was carefree. "That's so cool, could you get me a set?"

"Sure thing. Once you manage to best Laurie, I'll consider giving you one." Stephen retorted casually before going to check on Caitlin Snow.

Caitlin's progress was commendable; she was surmounting several hurdles consecutively. However, a bit more time was needed to entirely eliminate the side effects.

After catching up on the progress, Stephen departed.

Seizing a good mood, I assisted Laurie in crafting a set of steel battle suits for her, retaining the original red-gold design. With the nano-reduction technology and the full energy body, Laurie could don this suit to defeat Super Humans without Crazy Abilities. Excited, Laurie visited Stephen's room early in the evening, prompting Thea to reluctantly withdraw her cautious thoughts and return to her own room.

Laurie's energy was infectious, but the aftermath was that by the next day, she felt as though her entire body was falling apart. Thea saw this as an opportunity to defeat Laurie and gain a battle suit. However, could Thea, a novice without a solid foundation, really stand up against the superhero with a codenamed ?

Time flew by in five or six days.

Caitlin Snow remained on the Disciple, studying the velocity serum by day and retiring to her room at night. Except for the initial night when Stephen shared a bed with her, Killer Frost did not reappear. Caitlin remained oblivious to Killer Frost's presence.

"Successful?"

Expectantly, Stephen headed to the Disciple upon receiving Caitlin's update.

"The data suggests success, but it hasn't been tested yet!" Caitlin held a glass tube containing red velocity serum. "This could be considered... velocity 9!"

"Then let's find someone to test it on."

Stephen accepted the serum and grabbed the injection gun, vanishing just as Caitlin was about to say something.

...

At the Mercury Laboratory Building.

In a small laboratory on a specific floor, Eliza Harmon worked on an experimental project, dressed in a white coat. She was alone in the lab, yet she seemed to engage in a hushed conversation with herself, appearing slightly peculiar. Short and bespectacled, she exuded a proper scientist aura.

Despite having the qualifications for independent research, her standing in the laboratory was meager. She faced not only low pay but also a lack of project funds and manpower. Her non-confrontational nature led her to silently bear this situation. Yet, her resentment and frustration accumulated, giving rise to a second personality.

A personality that stood in stark contrast to her.

This second self embodied destruction, exhibiting cruelty and ruthlessness.

"Huh!"

Out of nowhere, a burst of yellow lightning erupted, causing the paper Eliza was using for notes to flutter up.

"It's quite a gust of wind." Eliza Harmon was taken aback, bending down to retrieve the paper. As she straightened up, she found Stephen before her. "Who are you?" she asked, bewildered.

"I'm the one who can change your fate!" Stephen beamed and grasped Eliza Harmon's arm, swiftly administering the serum.

"Oh, wh--What did you inject me with?" Eliza Harmon recoiled in horror, clutching her arm and exclaiming.

Stephen noticed a surge of speed force energy in her eyes.

Unaware of what the injection contained, Eliza Harmon's fear prompted her to flee the laboratory.

Yet, in her attempt to escape, something bewildering happened! She was suddenly standing outside the laboratory.

Eliza Harmon gazed at her own form in shock and back at the laboratory. "How... how did I..."

"Run!" Stephen directed at Eliza Harmon in a hushed tone.

Run?

Eliza Harmon was initially startled, then an enigmatic smile curled upon her lips.

The second persona had taken over!

Huh!

Yellow lightning surged through the corridor, leaving chaos in its wake.

"The speed force energy has undoubtedly amplified." Sensing the alteration within the speed force within him, Stephen also grinned and gave chase.

Trajectory : Eliza Harmon!

The unparalleled velocity thrilled Eliza Harmon, now dominated by her second persona. She cared not about how many individuals she struck or the destruction she left behind; this feeling was beyond words.

This sensation of coolness was beyond description.

Gaining this speed was akin to transcending from mere mortals to a God, evolving from a scientist enduring frustration to a God with dominion over all!

She raced through the city for twenty minutes, abruptly slowing down and stumbling a few paces before halting.

Unbeknownst to her, her white coat and snug attire had disintegrated into ashes during her sprint.

Upon spotting Stephen's sudden appearance, she wasn't panicked or bashful; instead, she greeted him eagerly, her eyes blazing. "What must I sacrifice to maintain this kind of ability, this kind of speed?"
