Chapter 139 Vandal Savage

Chapter 139 Vandal Savage

Trajectory fixed a scorching gaze on Stephen. She didn't care about Stephen's identity or his intentions. She was indifferent to why she had been chosen. Her only concern was how to maintain her newfound power—the addictive power of super speed.

"Follow me," Stephen instructed, his fingers brushing the back of his neck as he led Trajectory away, back to their hideout.

Caitlin Snow observed the bewildered Trajectory with a mix of curiosity and concern. "Who is she?"

"An experimental creation," Stephen clarified. "Do you have the serum?"

"Yes."

"Administer it to her." Stephen gestured towards Trajectory, who complied without hesitation. "And you, your sole mission is clear: Utilize nano-reduction technology to further upgrade this spacecraft, while using speed thinking via super speed!"

"After that?" Trajectory inquired. "Once I've upgraded the spaceship, will I still retain this speed forever?"

Stephen remained silent, instead displaying the nano-reduction equation for her to study. He simultaneously had Caitlin monitor Trajectory's physical state to assess the serum's effects. After serum injection, Trajectory swiftly perused the equation and initiated her work. Yellow lightning streaked rapidly—she seemed indefatigable.

"There's something amiss," Caitlin Snow frowned, concerned. "Her cellular degradation continues at an accelerated pace. If you persist with two more injections, no... perhaps three, she might..."

"You must halt the injections," Caitlin Snow declared solemnly.

"Keep researching and find a solution," Stephen's voice resonated deeply as he exited the laboratory. He paced across the open space of the villa, Caitlin's worries trailing after him. Meanwhile, Trajectory diligently ran and upgraded the spacecraft.

"No more injections, or you'll die," Caitlin Snow warned when the serum's effects faltered once again, and Trajectory approached for further administration.

Trajectory herself seemed to sense a dilemma, pausing in hesitation.

Is this the end?

No, I refuse to accept it!

Not after finally acquiring this ability—she refused to revert to being merely a scientist.

Defying Caitlin Snow's attempts to intervene, Trajectory seized the syringe and injected herself directly. The Speed Force surged through her once more, and with lips pursed in exhilaration, she started running. Her speed escalated rapidly, as if pushing beyond a certain boundary. Caitlin, peering at the monitoring data, widened her eyes in astonishment. Her speed... it had already surpassed Barry's by a significant margin.

The lightning's hue shifted to blue.

Amidst Trajectory's exhilarating screams as she ran, she disintegrated into ash and vanished.

"No..." Caitlin Snow's cry resonated with anguish.

Stephen returned, his presence marked by a swish.

"She's gone," Caitlin Snow informed Stephen, a mix of anger and grief in her tone.

"I witnessed it," Stephen acknowledged calmly.

From Trajectory's lightning transitioning from yellow to blue to her ultimate disintegration, Stephen had observed every detail.

"How can you be so detached? This was an innocent life!" Caitlin Snow's dissatisfaction was palpable, her gaze fixed on Stephen's impassive expression.

"Have you found a solution?" Stephen inquired with a composed demeanor.

"They're all gone," Caitlin Snow glared at Stephen. "Even if there were a solution, it's too late."

"Tell me, what's the solution?" Stephen couldn't help but ask with curiosity upon learning that Caitlin Snow had a potential solution.

"The serum accelerates cell death, but super speed accelerate cell regeneration. However, for regular individuals, the speed of regeneration lags behind that of cell death. If there are specific cells or substances that can balance this situation, it might solve the problem."

"So..." Stephen contemplated momentarily, then lifted his head and spoke. "Gideon, check Vandal Savage's whereabouts in this timeline."

"He has just taken the Staff of Horus from the Saint Mark Church."

Ah!

Gideon's voice reached Stephen, then faded. While Caitlin assumed Stephen was about to locate someone connected to Vandal Savage, he suddenly sprinted across the yard, infusing every cell of his body with speed force. His velocity surged once more.

Boom!

A rift in time materialized.

In an instant, Stephen plunged into it, targeting a specific temporal juncture. He unleashed the Speed Force with a burst of energy.

A thunderous, silent explosion.

The space-time rift seemed to shatter at a specific nexus, its exit abruptly appearing before him.

He shot out unswervingly!

Mercury Laboratory.

A gust of wind sent papers flying from the laboratory table.

"It's quite a gust of wind." Eliza Harmon was taken aback, bending down to retrieve the paper. As she straightened up, she found Stephen before her. "Who are you?" she asked, bewildered.

A familiar scene, a familiar dialogue.

"It appears to be a success." I traversed time but found no trace of myself on this timeline—indicating that the time-loop style of travel worked. With his remarkable power, Stephen disrupted the flow of time, substituting the original timeline with a blanket-crossing method, ensuring his singularity and autonomy.

Gazing at the agitated and fearful Eliza Harmon, Stephen grinned and whisked her back to his base.

"This... this is?" Caitlin Snow's gaze flitted between Stephen and Eliza Harmon, who was ensnared by him and still clad in a white lab coat.

"The serum didn't yield results. Cell regeneration isn't as swift as cell death. You investigate whether her own cells can identify pathways to expedite regeneration. I'll locate someone," Stephen briefed Caitlin Snow, vanishing once more.

The dazed Eliza Harmon and Caitlin Snow exchanged baffled glances.

Saint Mark's Church!

Upon his arrival, Stephen spotted Vandal Savage departing, clutching the Staff of Horus.

Their eyes locked, and Vandal Savage's visage contorted into a malevolent expression.

"It's you!"

"Since 1986, I've been seeking you out. You foiled my Firestorm creation plan back in 1986, and now I've finally located you!" Vandal Savage bellowed in rage.

In 1986.

Stephen had spirited away female Firestorm Lilah and Valentina, obliterated the Gulag camp, and killed Vandal Savage twice.

"God is equitable, bestowing you an 'not so good looks' appearance and surely a meager IQ to match, so you don't appear too incongruous," Stephen jeered at the infuriated Vandal Savage. "I've found you—not the other way around, you stupid!"
