Chapter ９８

Both of them thanked the officer for his assistance.

Michael was offered a handshake by the officer.

It was taken by Michael.

The officer leaned in close and said, “And thank you for the public service you gave tonight.”

Michael laughed.

Michael said, “It's my pleasure.” “

The officer gestured for him to follow him to his vehicle while shaking his head in astonishment.

Michael expressed his exhaustion to Christine by saying, “I'm exhausted.” “I believe it's time for bed,” she said.

“Yes, I'd really want to,” Christine said, “I'd love to go to bed.” “But I'm not even close to being weary,” she said.

Michael broke into a grin.

After a few more months had passed, everything was still proceeding swimmingly. Christine was about to graduate high school and was beginning the process of applying to colleges. In addition to contemplating attending several institutions located outside of the city, she was thinking about enrolling in the local institution that Michael worked at.
