The Second Match

“Couldn’t you have gone easy on him?” the female mage asked with a disgruntled voice.

“I did go easy on him.” Art remarked offhandedly. “If I wanted, I could have ended with in the first minute.”

Indeed, if Artium had used more destructive elements like lightning, fire and ember, from the very beginning, the prince would have been overwhelmed. Yet he didn’t do so because he wanted the prince to show his full power before defeating him.

Freya just groaned at his snarky attitude, “Yeah, and make us an even bigger target, no, thanks.”

As the two continued their talk, the announcer gave the participants a little break, while the arena was being repaired for the next match. The companions spent the next twenty minutes in silence under the piercing gazes of their competitors.
