Chapter 15

“Young boy how do you know I’m a beastman even the men who brought me here don’t know, the think I’m a divine serpent” the snake said while observing me. It seems he doesn’t have anything to do with this so why are they bringing children in here, I asked the snake “So why do they bring does children here and what happens to them.

“Well they bring them her to perform a ritual, they bring a child then draw a ritual circle beneath them after some incarnations they pour some of my blood in the circle, if the child survive after that they take them to another room to meet someone but if it fails the child dies and is taken somewhere to be disposed of” the snake told me everything he knew. It made me disgusted to know what they do to these children even I wouldn’t harm defenseless children and I’m suppose to be the demon here.

“If you don’t want to do this then why don’t you find a way to escape” I really don’t see how he can’t escape from here. “I wish I could but a spell was casted on me and I can’t escape or turn into my human form, if I even try I’ll be courting death itself” from how serious he sounded he wasn’t lying.

The sound of keys rattling was heard from behind the door, one of the bandit men who brought me here came in with three men in black capes and masks followed behind him, I guess they were here to perform the ritual. The men began drawing a circle with a black chalk while the bandit held me by the hand and dragged me towards the circle, once they finished I was placed in the middle.

I was curious to know what would happen if the gods would allow me to die or if this body was stable enough for this ritual, “ let us begin brothers” said one of the masked men. They started reciting incarnations while I sat calmly in the middle of the circle which caught them off guard but they still continued with the incarnations while the bandit was drawing blood from the snake.

Once they finished the spell the floor glowed brightly then the blood was poured on the circle make it glow even brighter. “ I think this one will be a success we must inform the saintess of this” one of them said but the energy was suddenly being sucked into my chest the side where my dragon tattoo was.

After it was done I could feel the power it gave me and my body felt lighter, everyone was shocked to the point they were speechless except for the snake who attacked the men by hitting them with it’s tail, they flew to the corner of the room and fainted for the impact.

The snake suddenly transformed into a human form which made me question him “ I thought you said you couldn’t turn into human form” he walked towards me and showed me my wrist were a snake like tattoo around it. “I think you formed a contract with me young man, that’s why I’m able to turn human and for you to be able to survive that ritual unscratched amazing” the snake man said with a small smirk.

Now that I look at him properly he was very handsome even with his busted face and bruised body, he had black hair and eyes, he was also well built and tall with pale skin but that’s not what’s important right now “ if you don’t mind can you put on some clothes, your making me uncomfortable” seeing another man naked wasn’t something I wished to see.

While he took some clothes from the bandit I went to inspect the faces of the masked men, I opened one of their mask and he didn’t seem familiar at all but I noticed the crest on his cape must be the Zion Church they were talking about before. “I’m done master shall we get going” I’m not really fond of this guy calling me master but theirs nothing I can do about it now. “ Tie them up and bring them with you when you’re done I’ll go release the children” I grabbed the key and sword from the bandit and left.

I went back to were I was brought from and saw two guards standing outside the prison, I sneaked up on and struck one of them down but it made the other one alert and he attacked back but thanks to the power I absorbed I defeated him with ease.

I freed the children and told them to stay there until I get back with some more help to which they agreed. I went back to find that snake but only saw him smiling while dragging four men so effortlessly, seriously how can he be that strong with all the bruises.

“ I want you to lock those men up in one of those cells I have something I need to do outside, just in case I pass out I need you to take care of me until help comes and make sure everything is in order” he answered me with a yes master and went to lock the men up.

I finally found the exit after some time and went outside, luckily for me father taught me how to make a signal just in case I got lost or was in need of help but it required a lot of Mana so I might pass out because I haven’t learned to control my Mana but I have some ideas from the books I read. I closed my eyes to concentrate on the Mana inside me and formed a ball of energy between my hands and fired it up to the sky causing an explosion.

After doing it two more times I was feeling dizzy, I could hear some one call out for me from a far distance and I saw a figure ridding on a horse and many others behind it, ah they found me I can rest now. I collapse but some one caught me before I landed on the floor and I finally gave into the darkness.

I woke up and saw the that I was in my room making me sigh in relief, I saw that someone was coming into the room and it was Zoe who seeing that I was awake quickly went back out to inform the others.

Few minutes after Zoe left she came back with the entire family everyone looked so worried my mother and sister were crying while Zander was extremely worried rand Father looked stressed. I must have caused them a lot of stress especially Zoe who might have blamed herself for everything and Philip I wonder “ what happened to sir Philip” hearing my question everyone seemed to want to avoid it.

“ Dear you should get some rest first we will talk after you have fully recovered from all the Mana you used ok so don’t worry about anything” mother said to me. “ Yes Adonis get some rest we are all glad that you are safe and sound so we’ll talk after you rest ok because we have a lot to talk about” from the way father talk he must have seen the children and that snake, I hope he’s doing ok.

Everyone left me except for Zoe who stayed just in case I needed anything when I wake up. I went back to sleep knowing I had e lot of explaining to do once I get up.
