Chapter 17

We have been preparing for the knights competition for the past few months now, everyone is training more than usual even the training they complained about before, they were doing even more than that. I thought them to wake up early, run laps to increase their stamina, carry rocks in their backs while doing squats and non stop sword swinging, I even taught them some demon fighting style and how to counter attack an enemy ten times stronger than them.

The were not the only ones practicing, every knight squad if the Duke’s house was training to win the championship, even I didn’t sit still and trained my body with the help of father and Zander. And I newly discovered from the beast man that I am now tolerant to poisoning since I am now his master I can use his power to poison or to resist it which I found rather rewarding to the point I gave to his whining about giving him a name and I named him Vincent and asked father to make him my personal Butler.

Father was against it at first but after I explained my relationship with Vincent he gave in but only after giving Vincent strict warnings, he is now currently receiving training from Oliver. After Vincent told me about the priests I was so confused about the whole thing, he told me that when he went back to get them he only found a pond of blood and their bodies were disposed of with acid. So there was someone else their who came to cover up the situation before they were found out which makes me sure that this incident is something deeper than what we’re actually seeing.

I’m leaving the matter for now because it’s making everyone worry my family won’t let me go out of the house, even Stephen and Adara where crying their eyes out when they came over two days after the incident, I had to comfort them so I won’t get a headache from it but I appreciated it and also Lizzy told me she would come over if she had found out anything about aunt Lilian so I’ll leave this matter for another time.

“ Young Master would you like your help, I want to practice what you said before about my attack speed” Andrew said to me looking as indifferent as always. Every teacher has a favorite student so how can I refuse him, I agreed and asked sir Philip to spare with him, Sir Philip and all the others have made incredible improvement I can proudly say they could defeat someone three times stronger than them even if that person has Mana and they don’t.

The fight began with Andrew attacking first and very fast at that, he swung his sword at Sir Philip but luckily he dodged it and attacked back, sir Philip’s attack was strong and heavy making it hard for Andrew to find any openings. The fight went pretty well and they both improve greatly from their past self, in fact everyone has improved from their past self.

Sir Philip who was just a rank three knight can now be compared to a rank five knight with just pure strength alone but he still lacks a little in control but I’m sure he can improve that later. Then vice captain Lisa is also doing well she trains both her strength and Mana at a very impressive rate, she is now a rank three knight which is pretty impressive to achieve at the age of twenty-three.

Huston and Samuel have also improved since they are older than the rest if you remove the captain and vice, they are more focused on growing their strength than Mana since that is what they both lack in and their Mana is also stable enough as they are both rank two knights both I’m confident that they can reach rank three if they keep training but their still young, both are just twenty years old so before they turn twenty two they would have improved.

Tom and Jake are also good with strength than Mana since they lack it, they have incredible stamina and build so it was easy for them to adapt to the training but since they both love playing around more they always get scolded or punished which is funny for me and they are both nineteen years old.

The twins Blake and Blair have more Mana than the others they are already rank two knights at the young age of eighteen, even though both have different areas that they are strong at they both still work together which is good but I have told them that it might be a weakness to them if they keep checking on each other every single time but since they are siblings it will take time for them to understand.

Sandra is also very talented at the age of sixteen but she was having difficulty with the sword and noticing her movements I could tell she was more of a spearman than a swordsman, she is very good with the spear but since it’s uncommon it might be looked down on but to me it really doesn’t matter because as a demon warrior their wasn’t a weapon I couldn’t use and I had a whole collection of weapon, thinking about it now I really miss them right now.

And lastly the scariest of them all was Andrew not only is he faster than the others but he has speed and strength that’s hard to keep up with I can even say that he could go up against sir Mark a rank three who’s one of Zander's squad knights and one of the families strongest knights. If this continues he might become a real monster as he grows and even if he is from a commoner origin he has more potential than most knights with Mana.

The first between him and sir Philip ended with him pointing a sword at Sir Philip’s neck, like I said his a monster and I’m glad to have found such a diamond like him. “ Young Master can you stop looking at me like that it’s making me feel uncomfortable” Andrew said to me while panting from loss of energy.

He really is a straight forward boy isn’t he but I won’t mind him as he is my shining star to win this competition will be a breeze. “Young master the Duke has called for you” Zoe said as she approached us with Vincent behind her carrying refreshments for us and when did they get so close to each other, I might be thinking too much they do work together so they should agree with each other.

I leave the knights to get some rest while I followed Vincent and Zoe to meet with father. As we got to his office Vincent knocked on the door and said “ your lordship young master Adonis has arrived” he said in a serious voice, guess he takes the job seriously. We heard a cold “come in” from the other side of the door and we all went inside the office, I saw father standing in front of his desk and another person standing beside him.

I greeted father and the man besides him, then father said to me “Adonis this is Mr. Zale Milos and he will be your new tutor starting tomorrow” after introducing me to my new tutor, I again greeted Mr. Milos again telling him to take care of me.

Mr. Milos looked nice, he had a light blonde hair and green eyes that looked at me kindly but I’m not one to trust early because of last time not that I can’t take care of him if he acts up but I don’t need any more problems right now but if father is the one who brought him here I’m sure he has done a background check on Mr. Milos so I can worry less.

“ I see that you are the genius I’ve heard about, now if you don’t mind I’ll like to ask you a few questions to test your knowledge” Mr. Milos smile and asked me a few questions which I answered without any hesitation. Mr. Milos was happy with my answers and patted my head and told me “well done, you did well” he said sincerely and it made me think maybe he wasn’t as bad as I thought.
