Distraction

"So what's our next plan?" Justin asked.

They all sat round on the floor to think of something. Their foods and water will not last them to up to two weeks, so they have to come up with something real quick to get to the capital as soon as possible.

"I think we should come up with something." Binna spoke. "My legs are really sore. I don't think I'd be able to bare this endless journey without passing out."

Not just Binna, their legs were really sore.

"Didn't you witnessed what happened yesterday." Kim spoke. "Those creatures got to the vehicle in less than a minute. They were hundreds of them. I'm sure they'll get to us no matter what, no matter how fast we drive. So the only way right now.... we continue walking."

"It's impossible for us not to get caught by them." Kate spoke. "They're so many of them. If we keep on walking, we might surely get caught one day by them."

"I agree." Justin spoke. "It's a two weeks journey guys, so it sounds impossible not to get caught sooner or later. So... any plans?" His eyes walking on them.

"Distraction." Smith finally spoke after a momentary since walked pass them.

Binna scoffed, but still have to listen to what he have to say.

Smith swallowed and adjusted his glasses. "I mean, we'll have to distract the zombies."

"And how do we intend on doing that?" Justin asked. Everyone's eyes and ears were keenly glued on Smith for him to explain further.

"Yesterday, I noticed that they all bombarded that truck. What I'm saying is this. We're going to use a bigger car like a truck, setting the same trap we did yesterday. The moment they all run to the truck, we'll go through another route using a smaller car to escape."

Everyone's brows crunched together as they were trying to understand what he was saying.

"You mean, we'll use the bigger truck as a bait for all of them to pull their attentions to. And when the road is clear, we'll go, using a small car not to drag their attentions back to us. If I'm right, is that what you're trying to say?" Kim asked.

He nodded. They gave this a second thought, trying to picture how the whole plan would look like.

"It sounds like a great plan." Justin spoke and the rest nodded their heads in agreement. "Let's get to work people." He stood up and so did the rest of them.

Few meters away from the building they sought shelter, an abandoned big truck was spotted outside. But before they'll check out the truck, they planned on the car that would be more beneficial to them for the plan. Kate spotted a small red car and they went to check it out. Luckily, it was still intact. They came to the conclusion that they'll be moving with two cars.

After arranging and preparing the cars they'll moving with, they moved their attentions to the truck. The fuel was still intact. Kate, Binna, Mr Choi and Kenji were in the red car with Binna on the driver's seat waiting to drive them off the road. Smith was on the other black car on the driver's seat, dripping in sweats and trembling body. The plan was to start their engines the moment the truck's engine sounded, and Justin and Kim will come running fast to the car behind, where Smith was on.

Hearts thumping wild in their chests and their eyes sharp and fixed on the road. They'd be taking the other route as the zombies run to the truck. Once the road is clear, they'll move.

A heavy stone was on Kim's hand. The moment Justin started the truck's engine, Smith and Binna turned on their car engines. Kim placed the stone on the accelerator pedal and they quickly ran speedily to the black car Smith was on. The moment their doors were shut carefully, a sea of them appeared running to the direction of the truck. They had to lower their heads not to get caught by any of them. Shock plastered on their faces. They were even much more than yesterday. Some were running and hitting their cars, making weird noises.

They looked at the mirror and their hands tightened on the steering wheel. The moment the road was now clear, Binna drove off with all full speed and Smith drove right behind her.

Since the road they passed was just right opposite the road they drove the truck, they knew that they have somehow managed to get to the truck. They have to drive really faster before they get at them.

Smith's car had hit some kind of metal and that made a loud sharp sound. Their hearts palpitated in their chests, knowing very well that anytime soon, they'd be chased by those zombies after hearing that loud metallic sound.

Just like they had thought, they saw through their windows that hundreds of them were now running to catch up with them. Binna gritted her teeth and increased the speed of her car and Smith also did the same. They drove with all might and turned right with full speed. More and more kept coming from even their sides.

"No, no, no, no, no. Don't do this now...." Binna spoke fast in nervousness. Her car's fuel tank was now showing red. "C'mmon..." She gritted her teeth and hit her steering wheel.

"I've got a low fuel tank." She spoke to Justin over the walkie talkie.

"Keep on driving Binna. Drive." He spoke in a loud hurried voice over the walkie talkie.

The zombies were now few meters away from them if they don't speed up faster.
