Fated to meet him

It was the first day of university. He submitted a form and applied for private university as he wanted to study decoration. As an acknowledgement that he had grown up, his parents let him go to the university by himself. He felt his steps are light since he left home. Now he has become an adult.

Although his brown hair was not put on serum, his hair was soft and gently touched the shoulders. His hair was never cut short. He tied half of his hair at the back unkempt.

Being a person who was afraid of the cold, he used to wear a lightweight hoodie. He might be mistaken for a girl unless he spoke. When he entered the campus, he saw a lot of people were dressed up stylishly. For him, he doesn't know how to dress up to date. He always covered his body with thick clothes.

His major was not popular, so there were only fifteen people in the class, and everyone was quiet.

"Yo! Newbie student!"

The person who had long hair and seemed to be girly spoke to him and he looked like in his thirties. Not knowing how to respond, he just nodded his head and that person laughed.

"I'm your class teacher, Johnny Moe. You don't have to be afraid of anything. Though our class has a few people, it's fun. Don't be hesitant if you need anything. You can come talk to me anytime. "

"Yes sir, my name is Lyan Oo Nway"

The teacher came to say hello first, so he said his name respectfully. The teacher patted his head and left the room. When he looked around the class, he saw that there were a few classmates.

"Should I look around the school?"

Though he thought about it, he was reluctant to go. But it was impossible to not go. At least, he had to know where the canteen was.

After looking around the campus, he finally found the canteen. The university provided lunch but they had to purchase snacks on their own. Far away from the canteen, there was a basketball court.

Even before the morning class, the court was full of people. He had a flashback of Maw Oo Yan by listening to the sounds of balls striking and shoes hitting the floor. Maw Oo was also quite interested in basketball. No matter how hard he tried to stop thinking about Maw Oo, he still couldn't help it. Before he realized this feeling was deeply engraved deep down his heart.

Then he turned his back to the court, the ball hit his head. A strong and tall young man stepped closer to him and picked up the ball. And he smiled and asked him.

"Sorry, my bad. I couldn't control my strength. Is there anywhere you're hurt?"

Along with that person, there were another three people who came and stood by him. All of them towered him by at least a head. After he shook his head, he tried to leave the place. But he suddenly spotted Maw Oo Yan who was drinking water among the crowd. His eyes widened and he murmured his name.

"Maw Oo Yan."

He didn't notice that a person had a faint smirk on his face.

"Do you know Maw Oo Yan?"

A person in front of him asked the question. Then, he gained his consciousness and he hurriedly said no.

"No, I don't."

As soon as he replied, he immediately left them. He didn't even say goodbye to the people who were left behind him. All he cared about was that he's at the same school as Maw Oo Yan. He wasn't sure if he should be sad as he couldn't escape from him or if he should be happy for attending the same university.

With the notion of being with Maw Oo Yan, his university life didn't seem to be boring. However, his purpose was changed. He didn't want Maw Oo Yan to know that he was in this school. Thus, he had another job to avoid Maw Oo Yan, besides going to school.

His prayers were not answered. The more he avoided Maw Oo Yan, the more fate led him to meet Maw Oo Yan. Their school's Fresher Welcome usually took place a week after the school opened. Lyan Oo took time to befriend others, that he had none yet. Saung Hnin, who was aware of this, always called him whenever she was free. Moreover, they even hang out every weekend.

On the day of Fresher Welcome, the school prepared for the new students to join the sports teams and other activities they had a talent for. Team senior leaders helped out the newbies for registration. Furthermore, food clubs distributed snacks for every one.

Lyan Oo Nway held a large cotton bag which was given to him for minimizing plastic use and began looking for a team that would be a good fit for him. As he was not good at anything, he was at a loss what team to join. Saung encouraged him to join the art club and advised that it would be more advantageous for his major.

He was hesitant to enroll as he didn't know how to draw. He couldn't even draw a big round circle, so painting was a pain for him. As another option, she suggested joining the cooking clubs.

It could be said that he was gifted in baking and cooking. While he was in a dilemma, someone hugged him suddenly.

"Hello, Do you remember me? You got hit by the ball because of me the other day. I failed to introduce myself. I'm Nay Htoo, majoring in economics. And you?"

He recognized him, but they were not close enough to walk shoulders to shoulders. So he smiled awkwardly and greeted him back.

"My name is Lyan Oo Nway"

"Such a pretty name."

Since the men rarely used the word "pretty" while introducing each other by name, he struggled to pry his hand away from his shoulders.

"You don't have any friends, do you? Come, I will introduce my friends to you."

He didn't have time to refuse, Nay Htoo grabbed him and dragged him to the basketball team. The members in the club were strong, big and tall. He was like a middle school student compared to them.

"Dude, I asked you to bring a new member. Look at what you brought. He is so small that if you hit him a little, he will collapse on the ground."

As soon as he was brought to where the team gathered, a team member spoke out his thoughts on him. He was usually content with his body, but when others criticized him, he felt dejected.

"He was not here to join the team. I called him to introduce to you guys."

"Umm…"

Lyan Oo Nway was wondering why he was there. If he had to admit subconsciously, he was here to greet them as he knew that they were Maw Oo's friends.

"He is Nita, the one who is doing push-ups is Thu Rain. You can talk to them when you meet."

Nay Htoo slowly lowered his hand from the shoulders to the waist. He shifted slightly to the side and avoided him as he was touching him more frequently than normal"

"Where is Maw Oo?"

Nay Htoo bent his lips upwards and smirked. The others pointed to the lounge.

"Let's go, I will introduce him to you."

"Arr.. No. I have to leave now. "

"Wait, you are already here. Oh, speaking of the devil, he is coming"

Wiping sweat from his neck with a cloth, Maw Oo was coming near to them. He was caught off guard by Maw Oo's smile as it was the first time he smiled at him after long years.

"He is Lyan Oo Nway. I brought him to say Hi to you"

Lyan couldn't come back to reality and he just lowered his head.

"We had known each other before as we were classmates from middle to high school. Right?"

That was the first time Maw Oo acknowledged him. He nodded as he tightened his grip on his hand. He was overwhelmed with joy. He was delighted even as a friend. Moreover, he was overjoyed that he could see him throughout his university life.
