Two days later.
“What was it you wanted to discuss sweetheart.” Conroy asked as he strolled alongside Amelia in the fields, his arm wrapped around her waist in support.
She had finally being able to stand on her own two feet and walk too a day ago so the Physician advised that she made use of those legs.
In the bright moonlight that silvered the grass and short leaves, Amelia turned to look at her mate, “Tis nothing of importance. I just wanted a moment with you.”
Conroy smiled at her lovingly.
They walked on, side by side, in a somewhat comfortable silence.
Until Conroy cleared his throat and said, “Amelia, I did not bed Elena willingly.”
Amelia sighed, “Can we not talk about that?”
Conroy came to a stop in front of the barns, the stalls empty of horses. “We have to. In light of the recent events that I have come so close to losing the one woman I breathe and live for, I cannot bear you not knowing the real truth any longer.”
