CHAPTER 5

"You're going to jail for this. Call the cops!" He ordered one of the other men who immediately started dialing some numbers on his phone. "And you?" He said turning to the other one "Hold her so that she doesn't try to escape."

"Listen, I didn't do anything. She was lost and I brought her back. Do I look like someone who kidnaps people?" She asked trying to wiggle free from the one who held her in place but damns the guy was too strong and it felt like she wasn't even trying at all.

Seriously why today of all days? Why her of all people?

She thought that she was going to be locked up by Andrew but now it's someone else. It's like her fate is just not smiling down at her.

  "Abby!"

Someone called. Mira didn't miss the rich and velvety voice that she just heard. Her heart snapped towards the direction of the voice and she saw him running down the stairs to where they were standing.

He was clad in a grey tuxedo and on his feet were the shiniest pair of shoes that she had ever seen. His left wrist is adorned with a Rolex watch.

She's pretty sure that her paycheck for five years can't afford them. He screams of wealth by just looking at him. His hair is neatly cut and his chiseled jaw is tightened in a frown.

His broad shoulders accentuate the tuxedo and if she wasn't in this situation, she would have acknowledged properly how handsome this man was.

At first, she panicked. Who is this man? Is he a gangster or a mafia or perhaps a drug lord?

  Heavens!

She's as good as dead if that's the case. Her little act of kindness had backfired and turned into something else. Damn! What have you gotten yourself into this time, Mira? You could've just walked away.

All her insecurities flew out the window when she heard Abby address him as Dad. That's her father?

Great! Maybe if she explains her situation to him then he'll understand and let her go.

"Where did you go?" He picked her up from the ground like she weighed nothing and held her in an embrace. He was frowning but his voice was laced with worry and concern. Mira could tell that he really loves her. "Don't do that ever again. Do you hear me?"

When their father-daughter moment was over, he put her down and faced Mira squarely. She gulped as his eyes bored holes into her skin. This man is frightening. What is she going to do now?

"Hugh?" His voice sprang through the air.

  "Yes, Mr. King"

"Take Abby to the car" He ordered sternly. Eyes never leaving or wavering from hers.

"Yes Mr. King" He replied and quickly walked away with Abby who was still struggling to try and talk to her father.

"Listen" Mira began "I know that you're upset but you have to understand that I'm not guilty of the crime they're accusing me of. I was only bringing her here and nothing else. I wasn't trying to kidnap her or something. Please try to understand."

Alexandro took one look at her before walking away. The hell!

"Excuse me. Didn't you hear what I just said?" She called after him. "I was only bringing her to you"

"Hugh, make sure to lock her behind bars and she shouldn't get the possibility of bail as well" He ordered.

Mira's eyes flew open at the statement. Bars, lock, what?

"Listen!" She yelled at him. "You're seriously making a very big mistake. Why don't you lock yourself up as well since you're such an awful father? Who leaves his child to wander on the streets without adequate attention?"

  Alexandro stopped at her words.

"I brought her here. Do you think I would bring her back here if I had bad intentions? What kind of a father are you!" She sneered angrily at him.

"Let me go you, morons!" She kicked and flapped and tried to break free but their grip was just like a padlock.

This is the last time that you'll ever help out anyone Mira. No matter who it is.

Alexandro turned to look at her and Mira was already expecting him to order them to leave her alone but instead, he just glared at her and got into the vehicle parked in front of them.

The first thought that came to Mira's mind was that this man is an asshole and a bastard.

Soon enough, the police sirens were heard from afar and that's when it hit Mira that she wasn't dreaming. She was really going to be locked up in prison.

The police arrived and the bodyguards handed her over to them after explaining what happened before joining the next ride.

"I can't believe that someone like you would be capable of kidnapping" One of the officers mocked and she almost punched him hard on the face but she was already in a bad situation and it won't be wise to add to it.

"I didn't do it," she said through gritted teeth.

"Yeah yeah! You have every right to remain silent or whatever you say or do would be used against you in the court of law!"

They practically pushed her into the cab before speeding off.

This is what I get for helping? They treated her like someone who just got caught commiting murder.

When they arrived at the precinct, she was put in a holding cell along with other prisoners.

She tried to tell the cops that she was innocent but they wouldn't listen to her. They kept on avoiding her like she had some disease or something.

When she was finally granted a phone call, she quickly called Rukky and explained her predicament to her.

Mira's only hope is that she gets out of here alive because Abby's father looks like a powerful man that would do everything to make sure that she doesn't come out of this.
