Rukky rushed into the station as though she was being chased by robbers. The minute she got the phone call from Mira, she suspended everything that she was doing and rushed down here. She doesn't even know the details yet and Mira couldn't explain better because she was crying on the phone when they spoke. She just hopes that Mira is okay.?
"Hello, officer!" She greeted one of them at the front desk.?
He looked up to meet her gaze.?
"How can I help ma'am?"
"My friend was brought in here some hours ago. One Mirabella Adams" she explained.
His face fell the minute she mentioned her name.
"Oh, you mean the kidnapper?"
"Excuse me? I'm sorry officer but I think that you've gotten the wrong person. Mira would never do something like that even though her entire existence depended on it." Was he talking about the Mira that she knows or someone else?
Mira would never hurt a fly talk more about kidnapping an actual human being.
"Sorry ma'am, but there's nothing you can do so I'll just advise you to go home. Your friend is not leaving this place!" He shunned her before walking away.?
"Can I at least see her?" She called after him but he just simply ignored her.
Rukky tried to talk to some other policemen but none of them are listening to her. They kept on giving her an attitude. It's like she's invisible or something.?
Frustrated, she took a seat on one of the benches. She has already promised herself that she's not leaving here until she talks to Mira. If they want to be stubborn and mean then she'll prove to them that she's worse when it comes to that particular aspect.
After waiting for over an hour, she was finally granted access to speak to Mira.?
"Best friend" Rukky called out when she was led to Mira's holding cell.?
Rukky and Mira had been friends ever since she moved from her hometown to the city two years ago in search of bigger job opportunities.?
Mira had just arrived and didn't have a place to stay. She bumped into Rukky who works in a convenience store and Rukky who took pity on the poor lady and offered her a place to stay in her apartment.?
At first, they weren't close because Rukky didn't fully trust Mira but as time went on, she found out that she was actually a very nice person who has had her own share of life just like her.?
They became roommates who split up the rent and later best friends. It was almost like they were destined to meet each other in this big city.?
"Rukky!" Mira exclaimed at the sight of seeing a familiar face.?
"You have ten minutes!" The police announced before walking away, leaving them both alone.
"What happened to you? Are you hurt? Did they try to harm you?" Rukky asked as she searched Mira frantically for any cuts or bruises.?
"Forget about that. How is Casey? Is he okay?" Her heart was already bleeding at the thought of her little boy. She was supposed to be with him but now she's stuck here.
"Yeah, he is. I gave him the leftover Mac and cheese in the fridge and—"
"What about his medicines? He ran out and I was supposed to get some for him along with his inhaler but—"
"If you'd let me finish" Rukky interrupted her. "I got him the meds and inhaler."
Mira already had tears in her eyes. Rukky's kind gesture wasn't something she could repay even though she tried.
"I saw how sad you were because you couldn't get it so I helped. Don't worry, you can pay me back later" she concludes as if reading her mind.?
"How did I get so lucky" she smiled through her tears.?
"Casey is fine alright. He's watching TV at home and I told Mrs. Williams to check on him from time to time but we both know your son is very mature and can handle himself"?
"Did you...?"
"No, I didn't. He doesn't know about this so don't worry. Now how did this happen?" Rukky shifted the subject to the present predicament.
"Long story," Mira replied before narrating everything to Rukky. By the time she was done, the police interrupted them.
"Your times up!" His voice echoed across the empty room.?
"Please let her stay a little while longer" Mira begged the warden with teary eyes but her pleas fell on deaf ears because he wasn't listening.?
"Hey it's okay" Rukky shushed her "I'll be back okay. Don't worry. I'll try to get help and be back as soon as possible" Rukky assured Mira as she was led outside by the police guard.?
Mira crouched to the ground and sobbed the minute Rukky left. She doesn't know if she was going to leave this place. She's pretty sure that Abby's father has forgotten that he locked up someone like her here. She's certain that she's going to rot in this precinct.
How was she ever going to get out of this?

Meanwhile...
Back at the King's estate, Abby has been trying to get her father's attention so that she could talk to him.?
He's been busy inside his study and has refused to talk to her but she still waited outside and refused to leave until she speaks with him. She even rejected dinner as well. She had to talk to him no matter what.
"Ab's you've been standing out there for more than three hours already. What could be so important that can't wait till tomorrow? Dad's not coming out until later" Her older sister Britney tells her the minute she approached her.?
She scribbled on her tablet.?
"Mira is in trouble" Her automated voice spoke out.?
"Who's Mira?" Britney inquired.
"The lady who rescued me" she scribbled and the voice spoke out again.?
"She tried to hurt you, Abby. You're too young to understand that" Brian, her older brother chirped in from behind. "Trust me, you're worth more than any gem in this world and I bet she knows it too and that's why she came after you."?
"She didn't" The voice came on again.
Britney squatted down to become eye-level with her.?
