CHAPTER 80: Good News Or Bad News?

  "I don't understand. This water is only up to your chest, Gem. You can't drown!" I cried, letting out a frustrated sigh.

  It had been trying to teach Ruby to swim for a week. She was still not comfortable in the pool.

  "I don't trust the water, even if it's only up to my chest!" Ruby snapped back.

  I furrowed my eyebrows. She had been extremely moody as of late. And she calls me the moody one. "Alright. Give me your hand, trust me. I won't let you drown."

  She hesitated but placed her hands over mine. "You won't betray me like that trainer, will you?"

  I chuckled.

  When mom (yes, Mrs. Syna Gerund—now Mrs. Syna Colenas, finally permitted me to call her mom) told me about Ruby being afraid of water, I decided to teach her personally. Apparently, Ruby and Pearl, both were enrolled for swimming classes. Ruby didn't go the second day because she said that the trainer had let her drown.

  "Alright, I am trusting you on this, Vexon," Ruby said.
