Heidi's POV
The school bell rang, indicating class had ended. It is 2 pm already, and I have to move so fast coz' I have an interview again at 3 pm. Luckily, I have plenty of time.
"Mills," Gelo calls and waves at me from afar.
"Sorry, Gelo, I am in a hurry. I cannot stay with you right now. I have to go." I immediately ran after I talked to him. He follows me and grabs my hand.
"Gelo. Where are we going? I have to go." I shouted at him while we were running. "I'll drop you. Just tell me the address." He answered.
I do not have a choice but to follow him. Finally, we reached his car and started driving.
"Where should I drop you?" He asked without looking at me.
"WSA Hotel," I replied to him. "Okay." He answered.
After 30 minutes, we reached the hotel. Unfortunately, he locked the door and won't let me out.
"Gelo, open the door. I'm in a hurry." I asked him, but he did nothing.
"Mills, can you not go?" He asked me. "Why? Is anything wrong?" I replied to him. He shakes his head as a reply.
"Look, Gelo. I am here for an interview, and I only have 10 minutes before it starts. I have to go." I said. He nodded and smiled at me.
"Okay, okay. Be careful, Mills. Call me once you have done. I'll pick you up." He said and opened the door. I climbed out of the car and immediately went to the 36th floor.
After I reached the meeting room, I sat on the bench outside and waited for someone to call me. Then after 5 minutes.
"Ms. Heidi Mills Griffin." a man pops out of the room. I think he is the CEO's assistant. I raised my hand as a sign of acknowledgment. "Please come with me, Ms. Griffin." I nodded and followed him.
"Good day, Ms. Griffin. My name is Kyle Keller, the personal assistant of the CEO and owner of WSA hotel, Mr. Ethan Park. I assume you are here for an interview. Let's start." He introduced himself. I nodded at him. I notice that someone is sitting in front, facing his back to us. I think he is the CEO.
"You can call me Kyle. Can you introduce yourself, Ms. Griffin?" He asked me.
"Good day to you too, Kyle. My name is Heidi Mills Griffin, you can call me Heidi, and I am 20 years old. I am a 2nd-year college student with a course in Hotel Management. I started working at a young age after my father died and my mother was diagnosed with an illness. I worked as a restaurant manager, but it was closed due to bankruptcy. So I am looking for a part-time job that fits my school schedule. I have experience as an assistant for nine months, but I resigned as we have to move in here for my mother's treatment. You can check my school schedule, as mentioned on my resume. I'll be so glad if you can hire me. I have work skills as a lady assistant that I can use." I said confidently. He smiled and nodded at me.
"What do you think is your greatest strength as a lady assistant?" He asked me while looking at my resume.
"Even though I work part-time, I can manage my time between school and work. I can multitask. I can accomplish every task on time. I can separate my personal life from my work. Because of my family, I learned how to fight, to be strong. And I think this is why I want to be great at every job. They are my inspiration, strength, and weakness." I answered. He looked at me and smiled.
"When is the most convenient time for you to start working?" He asked again. "I can start anytime soon as long as you hire me," I answered him with a bit of a laugh.
"Okay. Thank you so much, Heidi. I like your confidence. Can you join the other applicant in the corridor while I meet with my boss?" He asked me. I stand up from my seat and shake my hand with Kyle.
I went out of the meeting room and saw the other applicant. I sat beside her. I picked up my phone and made a call to update Gelo.
"Hey, Gelo. I finished with my interview. Maybe after 30 minutes, I will be out." I told him. "Okay, call me again once you are out. I will park my car nearby." He answered and dropped the call. After 15 minutes, Kyle comes out of the room.
"Ladies, both of you, please come in." He asked. We stood up from our seats and followed him inside.
"Both of you have your skills and strengths. We will send you an update through email to let you know if you pass the interview. Thank you for your time. Please be safe going home, and good luck." He bid us goodbye while smiling. He is handsome and gentlemanly in the way he talks.
I called Gelo again to inform him that I would be out after 2 minutes.
"Hi, I will be in front after two minutes," I said. "Okay, I am waiting for you." He answered and hung up the call.
I called Gelo again to inform him that I would be out after 2 minutes.
"Hi, I will be in front after two minutes," I said. "Okay, I am waiting for you." He answered and hung up the call. After he arrived, I immediately climbed inside his car.
"How was your interview?" He asked. "Everything is fine. They will send an email for an update. I hope that they hire me." I replied to him.
Not long after we left the hotel, I received an email. I opened it, and I got so happy after I read it.
Dear Ms. Griffin,
Congratulations. You passed the interview as the lady assistant of the WSA Hotel CEO. We would like you to report on Monday at 8 am. Your schedule will be according to the timetable from your resume.
Please acknowledge through this email. Thank you, and have a nice day.
Kyle Keller
CEO & WSA Hotel owner's assistant
I am happy. I immediately replied to the email as acknowledgement. I look at Gelo with a big smile.
"Gelo, Let's go to the nearest fast food place. I want to treat you." He looked at me with a confused expression. "I am hired. They have already sent an email asking me to report on Monday at 8 am. So I want to treat you as a celebration." I explained to him.
"Woah, Mills. You really are something. You get hired with just one interview. I am so proud of you. Let's pick up your mom and Hadley so we can celebrate it together in my cafe. No buts Mills, I know you. I want to congratulate you. Tell me your address and inform your mom we will be there soon." He said.
He really knows me. I don't want to trouble him about it, but he will continuously insist. Finally, he called someone from the cafe and informed them to set up a small event room in one of his VIP rooms. I sent a message to my mom to prepare. Not long after, we picked up my family. We went to his cafe and celebrated my new job.
Ethan's POV
I was sitting inside the meeting room facing back Kyle and the applicants. I heard their answers to Kyle's questions. It was interesting to listen to Heidi, one of the applicants. I was attracted by how confident she was.
After the interview, Kyle approached me, and we decided to hire Heidi.
"Kyle, you can send an email to Heidi. I want to know how efficient she is at her job. Let her come by 8 am on Monday." I said. I hope she can commit to her job, as she said in the interview.
