Heidi's POV
Ethan and I went to the beach. It is so pretty. I took pictures, and I will show them to my mom.
It is lunchtime, and we are here in a seafood restaurant. I checked the menu, and they only serve plates of seafood. What should I do? I have an allergy to it.
"Anything for me," I said, and he nodded at me. Since I am not the one paying, I'll follow Ethan since he recommends this restaurant.
I looked at my pictures and am so happy I took them well. The view is great too. After a few minutes, the food is served. I think of which one I eat first, but they are all seafood. Never mind, I'll take some medicine later.
After we had our lunch, we were on our way back to the hotel. This is so bad. I left my medicine inside the room. I am breaking out in cold sweat, and I can't breathe.
"Heidi, what's happening?" He tapped my shoulder and asked me. I just looked at him and shook my head.
I can't talk right now. I feel like someone is strangling me.
Ethan's POV
Heidi lost consciousness on our way back to the hotel. I tried to wake her up, but she was not responding.
I pulled over my car at the side of the road and called my mom.
"Mom, I will be there in five minutes. Let someone wait for me at the entrance." I told her. "Are you hurt, Ethan? What happened?" She asked in her worried voice. "I am fine, mom. I will tell you when I reach later." I said and dropped the call.
I immediately drove my car on the way to our family-owned hospital and sent her to the emergency room. I saw my mom standing at the entrance together with my father.
"Who is she, Ethan? What happened?" she asked me after meeting her at the hospital. "She is my assistant. I don't know what happened to her. We only ate lunch, then suddenly she couldn't breathe and had cold sweats." I replied to her.
"What did you have for lunch?" She asked again. "She only ate seafood," I answered.
"She must be allergic to it. I'll go check on her." She said and left me out of the emergency room. After thirty minutes, my mom came out and approached me.
"She is stable now. We put her on an IV and injected anti-allergies. You can take her after 4 hours. Don't let her eat seafood again." I nodded at her before she left.
I went back to the hotel for a while and fixed my things. Then I called Brent.
" Brent, meet me at the hospital. You know the location. Stand by with Hunter. There is a car tailing me." I said.
" I will go to the underground parking. Stop the car," I added. " Okay, copy," He said, and I dropped the call.
I drove my car back to the hospital. I looked at my side mirror.
I knew they were following me. I saw their car when we stepped out of the hotel until we reached the beach.
I saw them sitting at the corner across from our table at the restaurant. They followed me when I went back to the hotel and until now.
After I reached the parking entrance, I saw Brent and hunter stop them. I stepped out of my car and approached them.
" What do you need from me? Why are you following me?" I asked them while I leaned on the driver's door.
" We are not following you. We are following Ms. Griffin." the driver answered. I glared at him and pulled him out of the car.
" What do you need from her?" I asked him while holding his collar. Brent and Hunter were blocking the passenger.
" We were assigned to guard Ms. Griffin." The driver said. I dreaded him. " Who is your boss? Why does he want you to guard Heidi." I asked him again.
He looked at his passenger and looked at me again. " Sorry, sir. But we can't tell you why." He said again and punched my face. He quickly climbed inside his car and drove as fast as they could.
" Hunter, send two from your side to follow them. Now." I said. I run going to the emergency room. I am the one who brought her here, so I won't let anything happen to her.
" Heidi. Thank God you're awake." I said to her after seeing that she was already awake.
" How are you feeling?" I asked her. " I am okay now, Ethan." She said but sounded weak.
" You should've told me so we could have different food. I'm sorry, Heidi." I apologized to her. I should have asked her before letting her have it.
" No, Ethan. It is my fault. I don't want to tell because it's a waste of money if I don't eat it. I thought it wouldn't cause much harm to me since I only took a bite. I just forgot my anti-allergy from my luggage in the hotel." She said before falling asleep again.
After 2 hours, she woke up again. So I took her back to the hotel and let her rest more.
" Ethan, what time are we going to leave?" She asked me. " We will leave at 4 am tomorrow," I said. She seems to be worried about her mom.
" But I told them that we are going back tonight. We should leave." She said, then grabbed my left hand.
" Don't worry, Heidi. I sent Max to check on them, and they were doing fine. Kyle will check on them at midnight to be sure. You can call your sister and tell her about your situation. I am leaving." I told her before walking out of her room.
I went to my room and picked up my phone to call Hunter.
" Hunter, did you get some information about them?" I asked him. " Yes. They are working for an old guy. I hacked their system, and he looks like Ms. Heidi's father." I thought her father died when she was young.
" Okay. Let someone tail and keep an eye on them. Get more information about the old guy and what's her connection with Heidi." I said to him and dropped the call. I scrolled my phone until I fell asleep.
It is 3 am, and we are ready to go back. Heidi restored her strength already. I let Brent, Wolf, and Hunter go back with us, but Mike will stay to finish fixing the issue.
We arrived at the hotel's rooftop, and Kyle was waiting for us. He took the case and followed me to my office.
" Make a copy of all documents inside the case and give it back to me," I said and waved at him to leave.
" Ethan, I'll leave. First, I need to check on my sister and my mom. Then after, I'll go home." She said and waved goodbye, but I stopped her.
"Let's go together. I want to pay a visit to your mom too." She nodded, and I followed her. We went to my underground parking and took one of my big bikes.
" Can you ride big bikes?" I asked her. " It will be my first time. But I want to try it." She said. I tapped the back seat part and let her ride it.
Then after 15 minutes, we arrived at the hospital. I parked my bike and went inside together with Heidi.
I saw her mom lying on the bed, and her sister was sitting on the side peeling apple, then giving them to their mom. Her sister smiled and hugged her.
" Are you okay now? Why did you leave your medicine in your luggage? It should be inside your bag." Her sister scolded her for leaving the anti-allergies.
" I'm all fine. How about mom?" Their mom looked at Heidi and smiled. No wonder all of them look so beautiful. Her mother looked at my side and whispered to Heidi. I can't hear them.
I tapped Heidi's shoulder and told her I'd be waiting outside.
