Heidi's POV
It's already 8 am when we reach the hospital to check on my mom. Ethan came with me because he wanted to visit my mom.
After Hadley noticed me, he ran and hugged me. She was not aware that Ethan was there. She slapped my arm and scolded me.
I covered her mouth so mom won't hear us. I told her not to say anything to mom about what happened. I don't want her to get worried. After we talked, I looked at mom and asked Hadley how she is doing.
Mom turned her head to me and smiled. She tilted her when she saw Ethan. I moved near her, and she whispered in my ear.
"Who is he?" she asked me. "He is Ethan, my Boss, mom." She looked at me intently and grinned.
Ethan tapped my shoulder and informed me that he would wait outside. He turned his back and was about to walk out; mom called his name.
"Ethan." She caught his attention and gestured to come near. Ethan looked back.
This is awkward. I closed my eyes after Ethan approached us. I poured water into the glass and started to drink it.
"Are you her boyfriend?" Mom asked Ethan. I spat the water on my side out of embarrassment.
I looked at my mom and shook my head. Ethan put his arm over my shoulder and nodded his head. "Yes, Mrs Griffin." He replied, then looked at me. I stomped his feet and whispered in his ear.
"I'm sorry, but what are you doing?" I asked him silently. "Saving you from embarrassment, I guess." He replied. I covered my face and ran to the bathroom.
This is too awkward. Why did he say that? "Heidi, come out," Hadley called from the other side of the door. "No," I replied.
"I'm leaving Heidi if you won't come out." This time, it's Ethan. Can the floor eat me right now, please? I opened the door and went back to Hadley. Ethan is looking at me while laughing.
He is teasing me. I glared at him and slightly slapped his arm.
"Mom, Hadley, I still have some work to do, and I've got class in 1 hour. I will be back around 5 pm." I grabbed my bag and bid goodbye.
I walked out of the room, but since Ethan was taller than me, he was able to catch up and grabbed my arm.
"I'm sorry, Heidi, okay? It's my fault. Do you want to stress out your mom if she knows we were not in a real relationship?" I just looked at him and turned around to continue walking.
"I'll drop you. Where is your school?" He grabbed my hand and put the helmet on my head.
"Yūdaina University," I replied. He patted my helmet and rode the bike. Finally, after fifteen minutes, we reached. I gave him the helmet back and turned around. "I'll pick you up later. Wait for me here, or I will fire you." He said and drove away with his motorbike.
I fixed my bag while looking around. Oh my gosh, everyone is staring at me. I ran to my lecture room, but I accidentally bumped into Gelo.
"Mills, thank God you are here. I have been looking for you for almost a week. Where have you been?" He asked me and stretched his arm to help me. I grabbed and stood up.
"I was on a business trip with my boss. Do you need something?" I asked him while shaking off the dirt from my skirt.
"I have some news for you. I've got a friend looking for an assistant. He asked if I knew someone, so I gave your name." He replied. Here we go again.
"Gelo, I told you already, right? I don't want to get a job because someone is backing up. One more thing, I already have a job, and I love working with them. They treat me well." I said and walked away.
I am content when I am working with them. I've got a high salary, great colleagues, and a good boss, except when he's teasing me. Finally, I reached my classroom and sat on my chair.
"He is handsome, Heidi. Who is he? The one with the motorbike." That's Sheira, one of my mean, feeling-gorgeous and rich classmates. They talked to me only when they wanted to, especially if boys were the topic.
"That's my boss, owner of WSA hotel," I said. They gasped after they heard who it was. Why? Because it is the top one famous hotel worldwide.
"Can you introduce me? Please." She said, As if Ethan would like to meet her. "Yes, I can. If he would agree to meet you." I said.
She hits my table and leaves. She is an irritating person.
After my class, I stood at the school front, where Ethan promised to pick me up. I'll wait for him. I don't want to get fired.
I picked up and called Hadley by video. "Hadley, I will be late for today. Do you want me to bring dinner?" I asked her. "I already bought our dinner. We will wait for you." She said, I nodded at her and said goodbye before dropping the call.
It's been 2 hours since I started waiting for Ethan, but he is not showing up. I tried to call him, but his phone was off. Should I leave or wait for him to come?
Ethan's POV
After I dropped Heidi off at the university, I received a call from Hunter.
"Sir, we've located the master of the two men following Ms Griffin." He said after I picked up my phone. "Send me the address. Keep an eye on them. I will be there soon." I said and immediately drove off my bike to the location.
After 45 minutes, I arrived at the location Hunter sent me. "Hunter," I called him while approaching his post. "Any information?" I asked him, and he showed me some pictures.
"This is the old guy who paid them to follow Ms Griffin. His name is Hendry Carter, owner of HMGC Hospital." He said. "Did you find his relationship with Heidi?" I asked him again.
"Yes. It seems like he is Ms Griffin's birth father." He added and showed me three pictures. All of it has Heidi's photo, but one of them is with the old guy holding her up high.
"Where is he now?" I asked, and he pointed at the villa in front of us. "You can go now. Thank you, Hunter." I said and left.
I walked into the big gate and rang the bell. "Who is it?" Someone asked from the intercom. "Ethan Park, owner of WSA Hotel. I am here to speak with Mr Hendry about business." I answered. After a few minutes, they opened the gate.
His assistant asked me to follow him and led the way. We went to Mr Carter's study room.
His assistant knocked on the door and announced my presence. "Come in." Said the person inside the room. I saw him sitting on the couch, cross-legged, while drinking tea.
"What is your purpose for coming here?" he asked me without looking.
"I will go straight to the point. Stop sending your people to follow Heidi." I said. He stood up and walked into where I was standing.
"Who do you think you are?" He asked me. "Me? I am her boyfriend and boss at work. How about you? What's your relationship with her?" I answered. He looked shocked and turned around.
"Why did you leave her? You are his birth father. Am I right?" I asked him. "Do you feel guilty? That's why you send someone to follow and protect her?" I shouted at him. He turned around and punched me in the face.
"You don't know anything. I was so young, and I couldn't raise her. I left her with my cousin, but when I tried to take her back, she was not there anymore. I looked for her everywhere. After I found her and confirmed, I could only watch her from afar. So I sent someone to guard and protect her." He looked down and sat on the couch again.
"That's the only way I can see and protect her." He added. I understand him, but I couldn't let him ruin Heidi's family.
"This is the last time I will say it. Don't you dare send anyone following Heidi." I said and left the villa.
I went to the hotel to finish all pending documents while I was away.
I looked at my watch, and it was already 7 pm. Shoots. I forgot Heidi. I told her to wait for me. I tried to call her, but my phone died. So I went to the underground parking and drove my car to Heidi's university. I hope she didn't believe I would fire her if she left.
