Cat got your tongue?

You should get that, it maybe important," Mrs. Martha said and Sebastian decided to receive it on the third ring.

"Seb, the CEO of Austin's group of companies has arrived. When are you getting here?" He looked at his watch. It was already ten minutes to eight. He hurriedly picked his coat and decided to leave. He wondered why Richard would come earlier than the stipulated time. He was known to keep time but he had caught him off guard.

"Nanny we'll talk later. Peter, I'll be there in 20minutes. Make sure the documents are in order when I arrive. Keep them busy," He blabbered as he cut the call and headed to get to his car.

He headed down the driveway to the gate as the watchman quickly rushed to open the gate for me.

Natalie woke up for the fourth time of snoozing her alarm clock. She was rushing between brushing her teeth or taking a bath and so she tried to do both to no avail. She was having her interview today and all this determined her future and that of her sister's. She had called in sick at the hotel instead of quitting just in case he couldn't secure the job.

She got dressed in a casual navy blue skirt with white shirt and navy blue heels. She ensured that her documents were clearly in place. How couldn't they be? They were always ready for any interview. They were used to it anyway.

She got into the sitting room and found some pancakes on the kitchen table which she are hurriedly while gasping some juice.

"Hey, those are mine," Sandy screamed realizing what her sister had done.

"You can make some again, am running late. Wish me luck," she hugged her sister while she kissed her on the cheek.

"Best of luck darling," She shouted behind a running Natalie who was already at the street. She flagged down a can and got in.

"Cooper buildings sir!" She said as she rested behind the seat watching the busy street.

***

He was in the office building in fifteen minutes. He had tried so much to avoid the morning traffic on the roads. The streets were busy heading to the Cooper's building. It was however cleared by his intense walking all of them figuring out that he had to be faster than them so paving the way for him deemed the best option. He did not care the least about them. He got into the lift and watched as he waited for it to open. He was impatient so he kept tapping his left foot on the floor. When it finally opened, he waited as all the people got. He got in and as he was about to press the 13th floor button, someone held the lift open and he wondered who had the guts to do that. Most of the people in building knew him and he knew as much that they would not dare getting in to the lift with him. His aura was scaring enough.

"Wait!" The voice screamed from outside the lift and it opened again. He was receiving countless calls from Peter but he had decided not to pick them since he was already in the premises.

Natalie got in while dropping down all her papers. She stretched to press the 13th floor button just as Sebastian was about to. Their hands touched and for a moment each of them stood still. Neither of them wanted to look at the other. Sebastian withdrew his hand leaving her to press the key. Natalie bent down to pick her papers. She felt awkward so she didn't dare to utter a word.

She concentrated on arranging her papers. Sebastian watched her as she picked up her documents. He watched her hair fall and her fingers were itching to hold it and place it behind her ear.

"Why... What's wrong with you Seb?" He muttered in between gritted teeth. He clenched his fist not sure what exactly he was feeling.

Natalie stood up with half her papers disarranged so she tried to arrange them in order. Sebastian observed her and he felt that she was quite familiar. She tried to put her fingers as to where he had seen him but he could not remember.

Natalie could feel eyes in her but she didn't dare to look. She still had an awkward feeling from the moment earlier. Her instincts were however more powerful and when she raised her head, she stared. She glared. She rubbed her eyes to confirm the man. How could he forget him? He was the man at the restaurant. The man who made his friend agitated.

"Miss, do we know each other?" Sebastian asked after realizing that she was staring at her the whole time.

They stared at each other both taking each other's breath in silence for lack of better words to say to each other. She decided to focus on arranging the documents in order and Sebastian did not bother to speak any other word. The sounds of papers was not even louder than the tension between them and this time, they both withheld their words. Natalie was curious. Sebastian was clueless. They were both worried about the same thing. Time. The constant calls from Peter that were not answered seemed to heighten the level of Natalie's tolerance.

"Can you pick that? I'm trying to focus and you're clearly not helping!" Her obvious anger reflected so much in her voice but she did not care.

"Was I supposed to help?" Sebastian could not hold himself from speaking with a hint of sarcasm.

She held her breath, her throat, her words and every bone in her that was screaming for defence decided to hold for a second, minute and minutes longer. She had an interview to kill and she did not want to ruin the only chance he had to get a new job. Thoughts of her sister not being able to finish high school crashed her but she decided to brush them off with the hope that she would get the job.

Sebastian took out his phone and cut the call turning his phone silent. He was almost in the 13th floor. He was anxious. Getting the deal with Austin's group of companies was not an easy task neither was setting a meeting with them. Imagining how impatient their CEO was, he wondered if he was till waiting for him to make the presentation. He looked at the girl across him in the lift and her deep concentration in her papers made him wonder what she would be looking for in the building be ause she was clearly not one of his workers. Not that he paid any attention but he should've known, right? A girl as beautiful as her could not pass by her without notice.

They reached into the fifth floor and bumped into each other as they were going out, both in a hurry. They stared at each other with contempt for a moment but Natalie remembering that she had to catch up with time let him pass and walked behind her to receptionist desk. Peter came rushing to Sebastian worry written all over him.

"Dude, why haven't you been picking my calls?" He asked almost in frustration.

"I was already here. Where are they?" Sebastian asked as they headed towards his office while Peter walked beside him.

Peter did not know how to best break the news to him but he had to anyway.

"They already left Seb. Mr. Williams was furious that you made him wait for that long." Sebastian sat behind his desk while Peter sat in the seat Infront of his desk. He was in deep thought and now he wondered how he would convince the company to sign with him again.

"The interview is ongoing, you might want to be their in person," Peter added trying to help him take off his mind from the ordeal.

Sebastian looked at Peter and then back at his computer staring at nothing in particular.

"How many candidates are up for the job? Can I get the file?" Peter was glad and he stretched a file over to him. Sebastian turned a few pages and was surprised at the passport of the candidate as a devious smile ran through his face.

Natalie hovered around the receptionist's desk wondering where else to go. The line of candidates coming for the interview or so she thought was long enough for someone with a weak mindset to give up but she was not one of those. She could not entertain the idea. She looked around the workplace as if looking for someone and when she seemed not find anything in particular, she sighed leaned against the desk waiting for her turn.

"Hey miss! I came for the interview for the designer position. Where should I go? Well, I'm kinda lost," the reception looked at her and back at her desk. She was anxious and fear had gotten into her.

"The hallway on your left miss. Just follow the queue that you'll find there," she said with a smile that almost made her fears perish and in such a moment her feet always failed her. Her breath overtook her. Her vulnerability was exposed.

"For your nerves. You surely will need it. The boss isn't quite pleased today," Cassy stretched a bottle of water to her and walked into her working space while Natalie muttered a thank you seconds later. She drank some water and felt her tension freeze. She went across the hallway and found one client in the waiting chairs. She opened her mouth to great her but chose to shut it instead. Her face wasn't welcoming. A girl walked out of the office with tears racing through their lanes and she didn't bother to wipe them off or look at their side but instead run off and disappeared from the hallway. Natalie's stomach began rumbling. She had not taken her breakfast because of the rush but she was sure that the rumble was because of fear. Lost hope.

"Miss McAdams, you're next," a man called in the lady beside her and went back in. She walked in with her back squeezed into her chest leaving Natalie in anticipation.

Peter and Sebastian looked at the candidate before them and the way she tried to squeeze herself to try and seduce them. They took in the sight for a moment until Sebastian sent her off without a word calling in the next candidate.

Natalie walked in gasping in fear. She stood across Sebastian who rested his back into her seat taking in every moment in the room. She smiled deviously as martin told Natalie to take her seat.

"What's that smile for? Don't tell me you've already fallen for her?" Peter whispered her smile visible from where Natalie was. Natalie didn't dare to look up. She was secretly praying for the stars to be aligned in her favour.

"Miss Natalie Keller, tell us one reason why you're the best candidate for this position," Sebastian asked and her eyes stilled in shock. Her body hair stood as if trying to stretch farther and confirm for her that she was not being deceived by her own eyes. The response she was trying to give was no more in her mouth and her mind didn't seem like it was coming to her rescue any sooner.

"Cat got you tongue Miss Keller?" Sebastian asked not trying to hide his tone of mockery. Natalie stared at him with an ounce of resentment but she had to act right at the moment and letting her feelings control her was the last thing she wanted.
