THE PLAN.

CHAPTER 4: THE PLAN.

"So what do you plan to do?" Paul looked intently at Trevor.

Trevor humphed, softly stroking his beard. "I wouldn't want to raise suspicion, so stalking her is out of the question, or should I?" Trevor contemplated. "No, I won't." He refused, choosing to act on his previous idea.

"So, if you're choosing not to stalk her, how are you going to find out about her possible infidelity? How do you intend to pull this off?" Paul adjusted himself, scooching into his couch to get more comfortable.

"I'll pretend to leave town, fabricating a lie that I was called for an out of state job, with Mr Greasly, and would be gone for two to three days as the case may be, but I'll just be staying at your place. But I'll place hidden cameras at strategic places in the bedroom and living room. If she's cheating on me, she won't resist inviting Frank, or whoever that is, over." Trevor leaned into the couch he sat on.

"It's alright Trev. Am all in with you on this one." Paul consented, assuring Trevor of his support. "But are you sure Elizabeth won't suspect you're lying?" Paul asked, a bit concerned.

"Trust me buddy, she's wouldn't care less if I died." Trevor scoffed, knowing his wife really didn't really care. She had become so selfish. Making void the vows they made on their wedding day.

"If you say so Trev. If you say so." Paul said, gently sighing.

"Will your wife be cool with me staying here for just two days?" Trevor needed to confirm, not wanting to make Paul's wife uncomfortable with his presence.

"Don't worry. She won't have a problem. You're practically family. And Michelle is sure going to be excited having her favorite uncle around." Paul replied without giving any thought to Trevor's question.

Paul and his wife had been so sympathetic about Trevor's plight. So if this plan would bring him closure, he knew his wife wouldn't mind him staying there for a couple of days.

"Thanks a lot Paul. I'm so grateful for being there for me when I needed it." Trevor sincerely appreciated Paul. They always did know how to express gratitude to one another. They had been through a lot, so one would expect such.

"Uncle Trevor, look." Michelle called out, running excitedly to Trevor. She had a paper in her right hand.

"What is it honey?" Trevor bent his head low to view what she held.

"I made you a drawing at the dining table just now, and mummy asked me to come show you. This is me and you playing in the garden, and we'll live happily ever after." Michelle pointed, with a cute smile. Trevor's heart was warmed by the sincere love he kept seeing from this little child.

"This is beautiful. I look so handsome. And you look gorgeous too. Thank you honey." Trevor hugged her, after giving her a kiss on the forehead. Michelle's father, Paul, just sat beaming with delight as he looked at the duo. It was such a heart warming moment indeed.

"Anyway, have you got the cameras ready?" Paul asked, although Michelle was still present, seated on Trevor's lap, he applied verbal discretion.

"Not yet, but I'll go get them from PAYMORE, at Massapequa." Trevor replied.

"So where will you place them? You're going to have to hide them properly, hence the name 'Hidden camera." Paul further asked.

"Don't you worry yourself about that. It's my house. I know where to place them. I'll place one strategically in the living room and bedroom. If anything is going to happen, it's most likely to happen in either of those places." Trevor explained.

"This is going to be one hell of a sting operation." Paul nodded. He actually hoped that this would bring closure for his friend, and he can move forward with his life, hopefully.

"Let me get going. I don't think Elizabeth is going to be returning home anytime soon, as usual, so it'll give me the opportunity to get everything set up." Trevor stood up, placing Michelle on the floor gently.

"Alright Trev. See you around." Paul shook Trevor's hands.

"Oh, I almost forgot." Trevor turned back having got to the door already, to let Paul's wife know he was leaving, and appreciate her for the wonderful meal.

"It was my utmost pleasure. Am glad you liked the pancakes." Paul's wife smiled, as she waved goodbye, as Michelle held on to her mother's thighs.

"Alright buddy. We'll be in touch." Trevor walked out of the house, heading down the path that leads to the roadside, where he got a taxi and headed to Massapequa.

Getting to PAYMORE, Trevor stepped in but halted at the entrance, scanning round to locate the section where what he came for, the cameras, were. And also to see if there was anyone there he needed to avoid.

Having seen the section where the cameras were kept, and confirming that no one who knew him was there, he headed straight for the cameras.

'But what camera would be discreet enough? Which one will blend in, and not create suspicion?' He wondered as he looked through the collection of cameras, neatly arranged, some on display, and some still in their packaging.

Coming across one, he picked it up, going through the specifications, he knew this was the one. It was a NinjaPro 2-in-1 Hidden Camera Clock with 1080P HD Video Capturing, Motion Detection and Live Wireless App Access, Smart Surveillance, Cameras Espias Ocultas, Nanny Can Spy Camera Wall Clock. Seeing those specifications, he knew that this was exactly what he came for.

Seeing the price tag, $107.50, Trevor he couldn't afford buying two of them, as he had planned before. 'If I can't afford the two, I'll need to place it in the most probable place that'll give me the best view of anything that happens while am away.' Trevor paused, pondering the best course of action.

"The bedroom. That's where I'll place it." Trevor concluded, muttering it audibly. Trevor went to the counter and paid for it gladly. This expenditure would bite a chunk of what he had saved, but 'What the hell.' Trevor thought. He needed to do what needed to be done.

He walked out of the store happy, but sad at the same time. He tried to be positively hopeful, but at the same time, he feared the worst. He didn't know how he'd react if he found out that Elizabeth had been cheating on him, when he's been faithful all through the years of being married to her.

Trevor had had numerous opportunities, at his former work place, JB Corp, working as an assistant project manager, but not once did he ever give thought or responded to such advances. Trevor was 6 feet 3 tall, had a moderate athletic build, chieseled jaws with gorgeous deep blue eyes. What lady wouldn't want a piece of him, or all of him to herself?

Trevor headed back home, arriving four hours after he left the house earlier that day. As anticipated, Elizabeth wasn't home, so he had ample time to figure out where exactly to place the NinjaPro 2-in-1 Hidden Camera Clock, that'll give the best view of the bedroom.

Fortunately, there was a clock already in the room in front of the bed. "If I replace the old clock with this, it wouldn't be so obvious to her." Trevor figured out what to do.

He went on to fix the batteries into the device, and placed it where the old clock was, hiding the old one somewhere in the basement where Elizabeth wouldn't look. He installed the surveillance app and tested the device to see how effective it was, and sure enough, he wasn't disappointed.

"Let's see how things turns out." He sighed, setting up everything. He went downstairs to the kitchen, to see if there was a beer left in the fridge. It had been a while either he or Elizabeth stocked the kitchen with supplies. His doubts were abated when he found a two bottles of beer still there.

"Thank goodness." Trevor popped open the bottle top with his teeth, as he gulped half of the beer. Sitting on the three seater couch in the living room, crossing his legs placing them on the center table, he sighed deeply. It had been a he felt so relaxed. He turned on the TV, tuning to his usual channel, the sports channel, and continued gulping his beer.

At 7:47 pm, Elizabeth returned from God knows where, three hours after Trevor returned.

"Welcome home honey." Trevor said smiling at her.

"Hey..." Elizabeth cringed, not expecting such a salutation. 'Is he thinking because we had sex last night we're okay? He'd better not get his hopes up.' She walked upstairs not minding she didn't reciprocate an adequate response to Trevor's salutation.

"Honey? When you're done, there's something I need to tell you." Trevor said, causing her to halt as she walked up the staircase.

"Okay." She replied, wondering what could he possibly have to say to her.
