PAIN IMPORTED FROM THE PAST.

Vanya longed to see Oliver again, so did Oliver, but the distance between the two made it impossible for them to be together. Oliver would occasionally see some girls as Vanya. He wished he would see her again. She was the best female friend he had ever had. He wrote her name on a rock in Shéshizú, I talked to eat each time he wanted to talk to her – a bit childish, but that was the only thing he could do to feel her presence. Vanya kept on wearing the necklace Oliver gave her. It never left her sight. She had fallen deeply in love with Oliver; this absence was hurting her. She know where he was, but she prayed he was okay where ever he was.

Vanya had to keep a watch over her dad, which she now suspected his every move. She walks into her mom's room.

'Mom.'

'Vanya…?' Mrs. Kate was recalling something. It was all coming back to her; her lost memories.

'Vanya, my dear daughter, where's your dad?' She asks.

'Mom.' Vanya smiles. 'You do remember I'm your daughter.' Vanya says happily.

Mrs. Theodore rubs her head. 'I can remember it all, but it's vogue. I can remember that night… Oh God! Let's leave this house, your dad is heartless.' Suddenly, she touches her head in pains, blood surging down from her nose. 'Arrrgh' she screams. 'Mom, what's wrong? Dad! Dad!' Her dad runs out of his study.

'Vanya, what's wrong?'

'Mom is not feeling well, please take her to the hospital.' Vanya cries out.

Senator Theodore takes her to the hospital. Mrs. Theodore was bleeding profusely from her nose. The doctor takes it from their. He starts the first aid, then the diagnosis. Few minutes later, he comes out of the ward. He breathes in and walks to Senator Theodore.

'Please, meet me in my office.'

Senator Theodore follows him to his office.

'The situation has gone too far. The impossible has happened; your wife has regained her memory. The chemicals we used just triggered amnesia, but she fought it. I told you to give her a new life. Someone triggered her emotions, which is related to her past. She will remember everything if she wakes up, she will remember everything, but I don't think she'll wake up, because the information she's retrieving may cause her to have a brain malfunction. She may not walk, talk, see, feel, or smell. This woman's brain is super strong. Senator Theodore, you're ruining a talented woman's life. Please, I won't help you any longer, and if you try to pressurize me, I'll report you to the police; I've documents you signed; illegal documents. This will serve as an evidence against you, and I, too. But I'll take the risk.' The doctor says, and leaves his office.

The senator frowned. His eyes reflected his monsterlike soul.

'Nobody ever double-crosses me without receiving the repercussions.'

Li Chang was still livid. He walks into his house. 'A king can't show his weakness.' He says to himself repeatedly. He remembers the way his family was killed. He could remember: He walked inside the Siheyuan, his family's residence. He entered the house in a rush.

He heard a familiar voice, crying. He was in a house, which was in a state of disarray. The house, the walls, and the furniture, looked very old.

'Li… ?' His sister, Mei, called out to him. She was scared. Her fright was visible. 'Li…?' She called again. Li Chang looked over to her. She sat beside two lifeless body of their parents.

'Mei, what happened?' Li Chang asked his sister, who was fidgeting, and sweating really badly. She looked aghast. 'Mei, it's okay. Nobody is going to hurt you; I will protect you.' Li Chang tried to comfort Mei, his little sister. Shortly after, there was a bang on the door, and then another. They hit the door until they cracked it open.

'Get them!' An Asian man with a brush cut, commanded. Anger was written all over his face. He was holding a gun. 'Kill them all!' He told 4 other men, who seemed to be his gang.

Li Chang drags Mei, and they ran out of the house, and out of the Siheyuan. They kept running, not looking back.

'Stop there!!' Li Chang heard the men shout. The men shot at them, but the men were not accurate in their target, so they missed.

Li Chang kept running, until they reached the cliff; it was a dead-end. Mei was shaking severely from fear. They turned to follow another route, but the men were in front of them. Out of fear, Mei was stepping back, she didn't take precautions, and she slips as she moves one more step back, she manages to hold on to the tip of the rock. Li Chang saw his sister down so tried to help her up.

'Please, save me.' She inhaled deeply. 'Safe me, brother.'

'Mei, don't let go!' Li Chang tried to pull her up.

'Please, don't let go!' He told her. She was overhead the rocky plains. She shivered with fear. She was little, her eyes showed her innocence. She whimpered, sobbing slowly.

'I will help you up!' Li Chang tries to calm her down. Then suddenly, someone fired a bullet to Li Chang, piercing his shoulder, and he lets go.

'No! Brother, please.' Mei cries, as she falls to her death. Li Chang was helpless, he was bleeding profusely. The gang held him up.

'Where's the key?' The guy who seemed to be the boss asked. He punches Li Chang in his stomach.

'I don't have any key.' Li Chang says feebly.

Instantly, a lady snipes down the man, and his gangs. Li Chang just lay on the floor, weak and frail. He lost consciousness after a while.

The lady took him to the council, but the council said it was his destiny. They didn't care about his family that had been wiped out. The council gave Li Chang the title of the chieftain of Shéshizú, since his father was no more.

'It's your fate to carry on with your father's legacy, you lived for this reason.' The head of the council told him.

Li Chang did all he could to gather the relic people of the clan together. With the help of the council, he built the hamlet in between 4 mountains, making it almost impossible for it to be revealed to the public.

To Li Chang, the council is a bunch of selfish individuals, who don't care about others, but only themselves, and their selfish interests.

–Why would I go back to the US? What did the council stand to gain from this? Li Chang thought. I won't obey their orders, not at all. Li Chang says to himself.

–Uncle Li, why are you angry?– Huābàn asks in Chinese.

–It's nothing. I will show the council how brave the chieftain of Shéshizú will behave.' Li Chang turns to the girl. 'What did mother earth say today?' He asks.

'She said that I'm not doing enough to stop them from hurting her. I wish I could do more. I wish people will stop abusing the environment. Nature needs to live for us to stay alive.' Huābàn says.

'You're right Huābàn.' Li Chang states.
