Froze

Seeing that Lock was not letting go of his friend's neck, the poor boy spoke nervously, "Man, we're sorry. You're gonna kill him!"

Lock was breathing hard and his pupils had shrunk that it pulsated as fierce as it can. But then he weakened his grip. He then pointed the dagger at the kid's pale neck.

"Stop, please, we're sorry!" The boy shouted and cried as he kneeled to the ground.

Lock closed his eyes as multiple thoughts flashed in his mind. Then as he heard the boy pleading more, he subconsciously let go and took a step back.

The boy dropped to the floor, holding his throat and coughing hoarsely. He almost died.

<100/100>

Lock ignored the notification and started to go away. He ignored them as if it was natural.

When Lock left, chills were sent to the boy's spine who froze.

The two boys could only watch his back, which was the most dangerous back they ever saw in real life.

What was that? His speed, technique, and fighting skills were too superior. Heath's power, which they all feared, was also too slow and useless in front of him.

The other boy was more frightened. When he was not letting go of the neck of their fainted friend. It looked like he really wanted to kill him. He was so angry that the boy could hear his teeth gritting.

Grit, grit.

As he walked, Lock's face remained darkened.

Right now, he only wanted to take out his anger. And it just so happened that they volunteered. Taking it out solely on them who were not important in his opinion helped him retain his rationality.

Lock closed his eyes as multiple thoughts flashed in his mind.

"Shit…" he mumbled weakly. He was so frustrated and disappointed in himself.

While still breathing hard, he sluggishly made his way to where his feet would randomly bring him. The two conscious boys quickly came over to help their friend.

"We're going to pay you for this." One boy yelled as they carried Heath away.

At the moment, Lock's head felt too fuzzy, and he was no longer in the mood to go back. He just felt so tired… mentally.

"Shit. Shit. Shit." he repeatedly muttered in a very low and weak voice.

His eyes were too sad, as he thought again, 'What is happening to me?'

He continued to mindlessly drag his feet towards the gate when he saw someone who seemed to have planned to get in his way. Her platinum hair fluttered with the wind and her eyebrows were set angrily. Malie was glaring at him.

"You again?" Lock asked without emotion.

Thirty minutes ago.

Three human figures finally arrived in the orphanage.

"It's been a long time since we left." A fatty with a red bandana on his head said with a wide smile.

"Are you sure you don't wanna go home first?" a handsome blonde boy asked the girl by her side.

"No, no on—one's home yet. So I might stay here with Malie for now." She said awkwardly and lowered her gaze. She didn't know, but every time she spoke with the boy he liked, she always felt pressured. Riggs was so handsome and cool, after all.

"Yeah, just speak properly." Riggs said as he observed her strange behavior. Huff always felt uncomfortable around her. He always wondered what was wrong with her.

The fatty laughed and said, "So Malie's also staying here? You two girls sure are freeloade—."

Before he could finish, they felt the air breeze suddenly started to drop.

"Well, we're at least not so fat that we need to eat every time." Malie interjected.

They saw a girl with platinum hair and blue irises carrying two bags on her back.

"Malie!" the slender girl said as she slammed her body to her with a hug.

"You've just come back? What about brother?" Malie asked them.

The group of three were mercenaries. All of them were one year older, so they graduated from the Wizard Academy last year. It seemed like they all came back already. Except one, Malie's brother.

"Uh… about… about your brother…" the fatty said with an apologetic face. His expression simply screamed bad news.

Malie gulped, and the atmosphere instantly transformed negative.

Looking at the expression on Build's face, Malie felt like he would receive bad news. She felt nervous. It was not rare for mercenaries to die during quests, after all. Although her brother was strong, she also knew it was possible and always felt afraid for him. Her brother was also the strongest and eldest in the group, so if things somewhat turned bad, she knew her brother would take it on himself.

"Sigh, he's not dead. He stayed in Corn and joined a team of wizards for some dungeon exploration. He's just a hardworking one." Huff immediately said and shot Build a scornful face.

Malie sighed in relief and also shot a scornful look towards the misleading fatty.

"Why you got to be so misleading? Don't make jokes on that. Also, your face is too misleading." The blonde boy casually said.

Malie glared at the fatty.

"What do you mean by my face? No matter what I do, do you think I can change it you handsome jerk!" The fatty yelled.

"Sigh," Riggs shrugged his shoulders.

"Those guys are back at it again." A few people heard the commotion in front of the orphanage.

"Ho? They all made it back alive?"

"Oh? Cyrus isn't there, but I'm sure he's okay." An old man laughed.

Then, hearing the commotion, people from the orphanage finally came out. They were a lot of kids and Aunt Hilda.

"Come inside." Aunt Hilda happily said.
