Este showed a sullen expression to the people laughing at her face. She thought, "If Made gives me the ability to control beauty, then I will make them all ugly and open an era of equality for womankind."

The maids of the same age ignored their existing manners and continued to tease Este, but nothing stopped them. The household pretended not to hear and ordered the servants to do what they had to do.
