Look At Her

Joanna spoke to Este with an unpleasant face, "Can you work with that boring look? Not to offend, but you have to take care of the guest room on the first floor, the hallway where the maids live, and the dining room. You also have to clean it carefully. Make sure that you don't attract the attention of guests or even Our Majesty. Do you understand?"

Este, who had been feeling so tense, was now calmer. As Joanna rubbed her forehead, the girl then spoke reluctantly. "Yes, madam."

As she politely replied, the household replied, "All right then. Your room is in one of the servants' quarters on the fourth floor, next to the stairs. Go upstairs, leave your luggage there and then immediately descend. I have to prepare suitable clothes for you, so you will only wear those clothes to work until your official uniform is ready."

"All right," replied Este, who bowed to her politely once again. She then went up to the fourth floor using the stairs explicitly provided for the servants.

They didn't show the room to anyone, but Este knew which room belonged to her immediately. After opening the door next to the stairs, the girl went straight in. Este saw a bed and a wardrobe made of wooden boxes with a small table to place her things.

The clean room made Este unable to hide her excitement. Este was happy to have her room with windows and clear sunlight because she had previously lived in a small room next to the opera support room.

"Yes, I can improve my quality of life here gradually. After paying Maeve's debt, I'll raise enough money to open my shop. But first, I must deal with the seemingly useless abilities that this damn cat named Made gave me," she muttered.

Este sat carefully on the bed, took a cheap palm-sized mirror out of her bag and carefully checked whether or not her makeup had faded. Her dull brown face still looks unsightly, especially with her stiff brick-red wig and thicker makeup than usual.

Her brows even looked twice as thick as her real ones, and she used a dull tint of lipstick to make her lips look sickly and hard to see. Este's current appearance was the perfect disguise to protect herself from the outside world she was stepping on.

Este had thought about giving up her disguise. She felt sorry for hiding her beautiful figure with this ugly disguise. So, Este did not use her makeup and took the wig off in the buffer room for a while.

When Harmony and Stephanie saw this, they began to reprimand her. Este decided to put on her makeup again. They said that she would look prettier than most artists in opera if she didn't wear her disguise. People must be jealous of her blonde hair, white skin and green eyes. Este was surprised and decided to put on her wig again.

Since then, Este has been a bit annoyed and complains at the idea that she will never be able to let go of her disguise until she can remove the ability or curse that Made gave her. Este wanted to live her life so badly. So, she decided to enjoy herself, thinking that a disguise like this might serve as a shield to protect her. Este, satisfied, arranged some of her belongings in the wooden cupboard and headed back down to the first floor when she was done.

"Who is that? Is she the new maid? Oh my God, look at her."

As soon as she got acquainted with the people she would be working with, Este heard the giggles they showed because of her appearance. After all, whether in her previous life or now, it seemed that appearance was humanity's biggest problem. There's always a standard, and Este is tired of all the labels she's received.

"I've never seen someone so ugly and fat. Look at her hair. I can chop it up and use it as a broom."

"Look at that skin colour. What did she do to make her skin colour like that? Her hands were still white, but what was with her face? Hey, are you sick? It's not contagious. I'm talking about an illness that made people ugly," They shouted at her, making a fuss.
