First Day of the Job

"By the way, I wanted to give you a gift as a memory of getting a new job and being able to start your life out there right away. Is there anything you would like to have?"

When Lisa asked, Este was suddenly confused. Something crossed her mind, and she said somewhat embarrassedly, "I want glasses. No need to be expensive like those worn by nobles or artists. You know, the one that's big and thick… like the one Mark, the manager, wears."

Lisa was stunned to hear that, "Glasses? Why all of a sudden?"

Este explained, "Look, I don't want to run into the prince again when I enter as a maid. I did all this to be careful if he might even recognise me. You know, to eliminate any possibility. He forgave me yesterday, but I'm afraid he'll be angry when he sees my face later."

Este felt she desperately needed thick glasses to hide her face to protect herself. She didn't want to live her life there with restlessness.

"Ah yes, at the Zeiss Mansion, where you will work as the maid, okay?" Lisa nodded and added again, "Yes, I'll find it and order it for you. I want to find another place for you to work, but I don't have much time. I feel uneasy if I send you anywhere. I hope you won't get into trouble since you have a letter of recommendation from Conner."

Este paid for the train ride with the bit of money Harmony and Stephanie had given her. Now he was standing at a majestic iron gate guarded by knights in dark grey armour. Este looked towards the residence.

They decorated the mansion in deep purple, the Zeiss Family colour, with a combination of silver and black, Prince Carl Zeiss's signature colour. The aura that radiated firmly crushed her spirit while still at the entrance. Este looked nervous as she lifted the thick iron glasses hanging from her small face.

Recalling Lisa's affectionate words, Este once again had a strong will. She gave a letter of recommendation to the gatekeeper. The girl tried to remain calm and avoid the glares from the knights.

The concierge looked at the recommendation letter suspiciously and immediately opened the gate, then led her towards the back door used by the servants. Even though they saw something odd, they still allowed Este to step in.

"Oh my God, what is this? How could an acquaintance of Marquis Arnold look so fat and ugly? Well, even if she is just a maid working in the prince's house, this will taint his Majesty's dignity," said a household, Joanna, as she looked at Este while frowning.

Prince Carl Zeiss' cousin, Marquis Conner Arnold, was the son of the emperor's sister, Princess Taylor Arthur. Even though, when compared to the prince, Marquis Arnold's line to the throne was far from the lineage of the emperor's son, even so, his figure was still a core member of the royal family.

After bringing a cover letter with an appearance considered contemptuous, Joanna couldn't send Este back even if she put on an eye-catching sight.

Joanna could only sigh and look at the girl in front of her again. Think about what advantages it has.

With a height of 165 centimetres, Este has broad shoulders and a thick waistline that both arms cannot cover. Even so, her hips still look smooth. Unfortunately, the girl's hair looked stiff, despite its unique red tint: the more famous a noble, the more influential the appearance of a servant who worked under them.

Este was a maid supposed to work in the prince's residence, not in a random place. Too bad the girl didn't show an excellent sight to stare at for a long time. Joanna could only shake her head at Este, trying to ignore any apparent flaws.

Este's face was so small compared to her vast body. Her skin tone also looked dark and pale, as if she looked sick, and the combination with her hair colour seemed very mismatched. In Addition, Joanna is also unhappy with the thick glasses that Este is wearing. Big glasses made his nose sink, making it impossible for people to guess his eyes' colour and shape.
