Isabelle Baudelaire's point of view

OUR ENCOUNTER WITH THE Prince, the Princess, Jean, and… Dimitri, went better than I thought. Especially because he said absolutely nothing, and that made me feel in paradise. And although they probably noticed I'm sick, I'm genuinely glad they didn't insist on the topic after I brushed it off.

I'm also relieved that I finally manage to thank the Prince and Princess for their help back in the winter season. Because I'm sure they announced Princess Beatrix's pregnancy to help the folks move their attention from me and Dimitri, to the first heir of the next King and Queen. And it worked.

However, when we arrived at the tea party, everybody's eyes turned to us, and I felt incredibly uncomfortable. I hope I don't look as sick as I'm feeling. "Are you okay?" Addy whispered to me as we sat as far from our father as possible, superficially nodding to the nobles who tuned their heads towards us.
